6 GCTA Award Promotion of Tennis Fred Levy Fred Levy is one of the most enthusiastic tennis players in the greater Columbus area. He has a true passion for tennis. He works to create interest in the sport and always discusses the positives that being active in tennis can bring to an individual. Fred has helped and encouraged many players at local clubs by showing them different drills to try and has introduced better practice habits into team workouts. And over the past 5 years Fred has captained three separate teams at 3 different clubs It is fitting that he is being honored here for the promotion of tennis as he has certainly done that in Columbus. The diligence with which she pursued the USTA CTA of the Year Award for the GCTA was rewarded when we were selected as the 2014 recipient. This award would never have happened without Shelby. For the past 3 years Shelby has served as the Awards Committee Chair. She has always viewed the ceremony as a way to tell the community about all the things that the GCTA does a time to promote the GCTA as the great organization it is and let everyone know all the stuff we do. Shelby is always looking for ways to make the GCTA look good. Throughout her years here in Columbus, she has been an unfailing advocate, not only for tennis, but for the GCTA. She has always looked for ways to get the word out about the great job that we do. Now we would like to thank her for the great job she has done for us Awards Ceremony
