2 Dear colleagues, dear friends, It is with great pleasure that we announce another exciting Winter Meeting of the Working Group Interventional Cardiology of the Swiss Society of Cardiology. It will take place on 18 and 19 January 2019 at the Panorama Resort & Spa in Feusisberg YEARS The meeting, with its unique and well-established format, has experienced a significant change this year in the content of the presentations by considering not only complications but also cases that have been solved in an elegant and unconventional fashion. On one hand, this is due to the fact that many complications have become somewhat mundane, and on the other hand because we believe that it is important to share not only catastrophes but also off label solutions in order to ease our troubleshooting in daily practice and spread those techniques throughout our community. This is why we entitled the Winter Meeting 2019 «Thinking out of the box» with the hope that the meeting can foster the imagination and provide participants with a positive message and a renewed sense of awareness. The number of cases of coronary and structural interventions will be balanced. We kindly ask you for instructive and well-documented coronary or structural cases ( to marco.moccetti@cardiocentro.org or daniel.weilenmann@kssg.ch). We are convinced that you will present spectacular and emotionally touching cases. As is traditional, the best three cases will receive an award. In addition, a session of «short stories» (short question short answer) will keep us awake before the business session. Images for the «short stories» can be sent to Lucas Jörg (lucas.joerg@kssg.ch). Stéphane Cook and Olivier Muller will present the session «Abstracts for Award». As mentioned above, the theme of this year's meeting will centre around «Thinking out of the box». Interventional cardiology is still a rapidly growing field. Complex interventions have become feasible, more predictable, effective and safe. But the progress and success of any programme is not possible without imagination and an innovative spirit. We are thus very happy to welcome Prof. Alain Cribier, one of the most important pioneers in structural heart disease over the last 30 years. Thinking out of the box was also the key to success for Patrick Fischer, Head Coach of the Swiss Ice Hockey Men s A-National Team. From nearly zero, he led his team to the world vice championship, nearly winning the crown. Last but not least, innovation has to continue. Prof. Francesco Maisano and his team certainly represent the modern spirit of innovation. He will give us interesting insights into the future of cardiovascular medicine. We are looking forward to another Winter Meeting, with the privilege of many moments spent between colleagues and friends. It will serve, as every year for an exchange of ideas in a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Please do not forget to confirm your participation and to send us many interesting and challenging cases. 6 Panorama Resort & Spa Schönfelsstrasse Feusisberg SZ Tel Feusisberg is situated in beautiful countryside at 700 metres above sea level on a hillside. From here, you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views over Lake Zurich and the foothills of the Alps. The hotel is only 30 minutes from Zurich by car, and public transport takes minutes from Zurich main station. By car Take the motorway Zurich-Chur, exit Wollerau, direction Schindellegi/Feusisberg. Free, outdoor parking is available, underground car park CHF 15 per day. By train from Zurich Take the S-Bahn No. 2 to Pfäffikon SZ (every 60 minutes) where taxis are available that will take you to the Panorama Resort & Spa in less than 10 minutes or you can reserve a shuttle service.
