Departures from the airport are every 30 minutes as of 05:35 hrs. Upon arriving at Lucerne s main station (Hauptbahnhof), take bus No. 1 in the direction of Maihof and get off at the "Weggismatt or "Maihofmatte" bus stop. Follow the signs down to the lake, it is a short walk. When driving from Zurich airport, take Motorway A4/A14 (Zurich-Zug-Luzern) and follow the direction Luzern. Take the Emmen Sud exit and follow the Rotsee signs. By Train You can reach Lucerne s main station (Hauptbahnhof) from all directions by train. From there, take bus No. 1 in the direction of Maihof and get off at the "Weggismatt or "Maihofmatte" bus stop. Follow the signs down to the lake, it is a short walk. By Car When arriving from the North, take Motorway A2 (Basel-Milano), exit at Emmen Süd and follow the Rotsee and "Lucerne Regatta" signs. When arriving from the West, take Motorway A1 (Geneva-Berne-Zurich) and exit at the junction Wiggertal which will lead you to Motorway A2 (Lucerne-Gotthard-Milano). Take the Emmen Süd exit and follow the Rotsee and "Lucerne Regatta" signs. When arriving from the East, take Motorway A1 (St. Gallen-Zurich-Berne-Geneva) and then change to Motorway A4 /A14in direction Lucerne. 2 INFORMATION FOR COACHES AND ROWERS Entry Deadline Friday, 29 June 2018, midnight (CET) Team Managers Meeting and Draw Thursday, 12 July 2018, 15:00 hrs. It will be held in the Team managers Meeting room on the first floor in the Rowing centre. OTHER INFORMATION Training The venue is officially open for training daily from Wednesday, 11 July 2018 from 9:00 until 19:00 hrs. On racing days, training is allowed from 7:00 hrs until 30 minutes before the first race. The OC shall not be held liable for theft or any kind of damage to the boats. All orders by the police and other types of security service must be strictly observed. Weigh-in Coxswains and lightweights have to weigh in according to the FISA Rules of Racing. The weighing centre is located in the permanent boathouse building. The weighing centre opens two hours before the start of the first race. Test scales are available during the opening times of the venue. Liability Participants are responsible for acquiring insurance for their equipment and persons. The OC shall not be held liable for any damages incurred in the regatta venue area. Team tents Due to the limited space available, the OC will allocate the team tent places and the team rest area in the Rowing centre based on bookings. Each team can either book a team tent space or, a space in the team rest area. Requests should be sent to the OC at info@ lucerneregatta.com until 29 June 2018 with the following information: number of athletes, size of team tent, electricity access, preferred indoor or outdoor team space, contact person on site. Please note that team tent spaces and team rest area places are subject to space and availability. Reservations have to be made as early as possible, at the latest by the closing date for entries on 29 June Advance payment will be requested. Low-cost accommodation We are able to offer a limited number of beds in low-cost bed & breakfast accommodation at the Youth Hostel, near the finish area (see attached application form). The accommodation will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Beds and rooms that have been booked but have not been fully used will be charged. Closing date for applications: Friday, 1 June Order and cleaning The Team Manager/Coach is responsible for keeping the accommodation in proper condition. It is strictly forbidden to prepare meals or to change any electrical and/or sanitary installations. All costs which result from damage or degragation have to be paid by the user. The OC will not be held liable. Payment The invoice must be settled by bank transfer to the OC by the date specified on the invoice but not later than 29 June Validity of Reservation The reservation is confirmed as soon as the payment is registered by the Organising Committee. To confirm your booking, please return the signed booking confirmation to Cancellation conditions Any cancellation must be in writing! Administration fee of 100 Swiss Francs will be charged for cancellation received by 18 May % of accommodation cost will be charged for cancellation received by 1 June % of accommodation cost will be charged for cancellation after 1 June 2018, no show or in case of cancellation of the entire group. 5 MEAL ARRANGEMENTS AT THE VENUE The Lucerne Regatta is pleased to offer your athletes lunch and dinner at the Rotsee for the special price of 18 CHF per meal. Please order your meals in advance with the enclosed meal request form. The meals are especially prepared for rowers and will be served in the Athletes' Restaurant in the Rowing Centre. There will be two menus to choose from; one always includes pasta and salad. A half litre of mineral water is included (free) with each meal. Team Managers and coaches should order the meals in advance - see enclosed form. This form should be sent together with the entries. There is other food and drink available at reasonable prices. Please contact the Organising Committee at Your transport is only confirmed once you have received a written confirmation from the Organising Committee's transport office. During racing days teams can book their transport at the transport office in the boating area. Please contact Orders for these meals must be made before 29 June 2018 on the enclosed form, to be sent to the Regatta office. For registrations received after 29 June 2018, meal prices will be CHF 22. TRANSPORT Teams staying at the hotels in the city of Lucerne (zone 10 only) may use the public bus transport system free of charge by using hotel cards provided by the respective hotel on check-in. The Organising Committee will provide a limited transport service for teams staying outside Lucerne upon request. Teams need to contact the Organising Committee with their transport requests and will be charged for this service. 23
