1 Dear SADPA / IDPA members! We are 14 weeks away from the 2018 IDPA Africa Championship!!!! The 2018 IDPA Africa Champs will be taking place at EDPC/Vlakfontein Shooting Range from 9 till 12 August Safety Officers will shoot the pre-match on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 August Competitors will participate on Saturday 11 August and Sunday 12 August The match will comprise of 16 Stages and will require approximately 250 rounds (to be confirmed). Online Match Registration will be up and running by the 1 May 2018 Your main match officials are as follows: Vivian Whatley - MD Gert van Rensburg - Assistant MD

2 Entry Requirements: 1. Fully paid up SADPA MEMBER 2018 and, Club member. 2. Have a classification as per the requirements of the rulebook in the division he/she is competing in (Master excluded). 3. Must be a safe and competent shooter. 4. Have competed in at least 2 Tier 2 or higher matches. 5. Have competed in at least 1 Tier 2 or higher match in the past 12 months. 6. The following divisions will be recognised for this match: SSP ESP Revolver CDP CCP BUG SPD PCC CO 7. SPD, PCC and CO divisions must take note that they will not be considered for the category winners and will only receive medals for their respective division and classification. PCC entrants must also have a PCC classification. 8. Entrants must also note that the Military & Law Enforcement categories are only for active members, as set out in the current IDPA Match administration handbook (M6.8 and M6.9). 9. The following classifications will be recognised for this match: Master Expert Sharpshooter Marksman No sharing of firearms during this match. Competitors to have a minimum of 4 magazines for the firearm that he/she is going to participate with. Match fee is R per person and will include a catered meal on Sunday, 12 August 2018 During which we will have the lucky draws, prize giving etc. Non-competitors attending the prize giving meal will be free of charge. Catering for all competitors during the match duration absolutely free (NO LIMITATION) Water - free If the competitor brings his or her family to the match, they also enjoy the above benefits. Each competitor will receive a gift at registration.

3 Competitors may order 2018 Africa Championships R per shirt. Note: All bays will be provided with scholars from our local schools to assist with patching of targets. No Competitor will be required to patch. A Tuckshop will be available on the range for the duration of the match. Please note that there are no arrangements for special dietary requirements. Those participants wanting special meals would need to make their own arrangements. TRUST ME! THIS WILL BE AN AFRICA CHAMPS LIKE NEVER BEFORE. Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. The main match will be able to accommodate 200 competitors, if a full group of Safety Officers are available. Deadline for entries: 9 th July Deadline for payment: 16 th July 2018 (no payment will mean that the shooter will be withdrawn). In addition to current IDPA rules, EDPC specific range rules will apply.

4 EDPC Range rules In addition to the Vlakfontein Shooting Range rules visible at the entrance, the following rules shall be complied with by each and every SADPA member at all IDPA and SADPA DMG shoots, hosted on this range: This is a Cold range unload you firearm in hot box before entering the range. Exceptions EDPC Exco and working safety officers will carry hot. No shooter shall be permitted to partake in a match without signing the attendance register /indemnity form and any shooter who did not register prior to the day of the match, shall not be permitted to shoot the match. All shooters and spectators MUST wear eye and ear protection. In the absence of indicated MUZZLE SAFE POINTS, the 180 degree muzzle safe rule applies. Any shots into steel, props or range equipment within two (2) yards of the shooter shall result in an immediate Disqualification. Unless a target is placed closer than two (2) yards, that specific target cluster is excluded from this rule. All firearms/rifles to be carried unloaded, holstered or in a suitable bag that covers the entire firearm/rifle. The muzzle of the firearm may break the berm, but any shots over the berm shall result in an immediate Disqualification. The Match Director decision is final at the 2018 IDPA Africa Championship Match. No foul language or conduct unbefitting of a SADPA member will be tolerated on this range and such behavior will result in a Disqualification from the match and be reported as such to The Match Director. We require match officials for this match. Please state your SO status example (CSO/SO). Please note that the following perks are on offer for successful SO applicants: IDPA Champs match fee waived. - Cash payment of R1000/person for working SO s. - Working SO s accommodation will be paid in full SADPA Membership Fee waived IDPA CAMPIONSHIP SO shirt for each working SO. - Meals for all working SO s during the match.
