The new and improved online registration process is very user friendly. Once you have registered your students online using this easy, simple process, you will have the amazing benefit of being able to view your studio profile online. Please find link below to begin the registration process: If your dancer wants to register WTC but does not want to go overseas, please insert WTCNT in the reference block. If the dancer has applied for a passport and wants to go overseas, please insert APPLIED in the reference block. 3 Kindly read the general rules, conditions and explanations very carefully. Closing date for age groups for Novice & Amateur dancers is the age they are at the closing date of the current competition. Closing date for age groups Championship & WTC dancers is the 31 st of December of the current year. Please refer to the SABOD rule book for clarification of rules, obtainable from the our offices. A studio CHECKLIST FORM will be processed after a studio has registered online. Any dancer, who performs on a regular basis for an audience, is eligible for championships or WTC categories - at the trainers discretion. Entries will not be processed without proof of payment. Entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. All dancers to be registered annually with the SABOD. Our registrations are all done online. The closing date for this event will be strictly adhered to - Entries close on 30 June 2015 The organiser reserves the right to combine or cancel sections, if and where necessary. Teachers and trainers are to report to the registration table to collect & sign for all cloth numbers and arm bands for their dancers. Dancers are required to wear their arm bands for the full duration of the competition. Dancer s cloth numbers for Novice, Amateur & Championships must be returned after each competition. WTC numbers must return them at the last competition. Printed number R80.00 on the day of the competition. No parents are allowed backstage. Right of admission reserved. 3

4 The judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Competitors must produce birth certificates to verify age should a challenge or question arise. Improper age entry will result in disqualification. The Compere will only announce the competitors number twice. A no-show i n t h e m a r s h a l l i n g a r e a will result in disqualification. NO EXCEPTIONS! Any trainer or dancer who fails to adhere to the official code of conduct will face disciplinary action as set out in accordance to the SABOD Disciplinary Code. Medals will be awarded to the top 6 finalists of solo and duo sections. Only the top 3 finalists will be awarded for small groups and formations. Dancers participating in Solo, Duo, Small Group and Formation sections must have competed in the minimum required WTC qualifying competitions in order for their points to be recognized. NO PRIVATE VIDEO, VISUAL OR AUDIO RECORDING IS ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN DURING PERFORMANCES. GUIDELINES FOR ENTERING: So you want to enter this exciting competition? Here is what you need to do: 1. Make sure your dancers are registered online by the 28 June Fees Novice & Amateur R110 & Championship & WTC R220 per annum. All entries close on the 30 June Decide what sections you wish to enter: 3. Age Groups: 7 & under (Non-Status Only), 11& under, 12 to 15 years, 16 & over, Adult 2 (ages 31 to 59) 4. Categories: Novice & Non Status- Never previously done a recognised competition. If you have competed in any other SA World Cup competition, then you are not a Novice dancer. Amateur- Previously reached the top 3 in a final of any recognized competition in a novice section 4

5 Championships-Previously reached the top 3 in a final of any recognized competition in an amateur section World Trial Circuit-A dancer of championship status who wishes to qualify to enter the World Championships in that year should they qualify. This is NOT a higher status. 5. Sections: Solos, duos and small groups dance to ORGANISERS MUSIC Solo (Dance 1 minute all together then dance 1 minute solo spots then dance 1 minute all together), Duo (Dance 1minute all together then dance1 minute solo spots then dance 1minute all together), Small Group (3 to 7 dancers 2 minutes) Formation (8 to 24 dancers 2 to 3 minutes), Street dance Show Dance to organizers music, Dance to own music, Dance to own music, Production (25 and more dancers 5 to 8 minutes) Dance to own music, Please note: 6. A Dancers may never dance down into a lower age group but dancers can dance up into a higher age group. 7. Dancers may only compete in the same dance discipline in one age group during the same calendar year. 8. Duos: The older partner governs the age division. The younger partner may not be more than 2 years below the age limit. 9. A dancer can only compete in one solo, one duo, one small group, one formation in any age group. 10. Age of dancers in small groups and formations: add all the ages of the dancers together and divide by the number of dancers to get the average age. This must fall into the correct age category HOWEVER no dancer can be older than the age category that the group is entered into. 11. Groups can have reserves but these must be paid up registered dancers. They do not have to pay the competition entry fees if they are not dancing in that event. 12. No more than 50% of dancers in a group may be of a lower status. For example, no more than half of dancers can be of amateur status in a championship status group. 5

6 13. No Props allowed in hip hop sections. 14. COSTUMES: Must be appropriate and not revealing and may not be removed and placed on the floor during a dance. 15. LIFTS: These are not permitted in any children s sections, in any duos and small groups in any age groups. 16. Street Dance Show is with own music in Solos, Duos, Small Groups & Formations. See rules on Props. 17. Only one track of music per CD. No music may contain offensive language or sound effects. Trainers to have their own music on a clearly marked CD in a protective cover 18.
