2 CHARITY MATCH TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHILDLINE This Saturday will see Bradley Stoke Town FC host a charity match at their Jubilee Centre ground, facing a host of ex Rovers, City and Yeovil Town players with all donations and funds benefiting Childline. Bradley Stoke Town FC will field players from all its four adult teams. On behalf of Bradley Stoke Town FC and inspiration behind this event, Rich Sears said, "We would dearly love as many people as possible to come to the event from the Bristol area to not only see stars from the past, but to also cheer on this charity match and dig deep into their pockets for this great cause. It will be a great afternoon out for football for all age groups and we hope to raise a lot of money". "The Heart Angels will also be there to do face painting for the kids and we have refreshments available including a BBQ".

4 Bradley Stoke Town Football Club Overview. Founded in 2005, Bradley Stoke Town Football Club has become an integral part of the town, playing their home games on Saturday's at the Jubilee Centre. Success has been plentiful so far, with the club achieving 6 promotions (2 as champions) and reaching 3 cup finals (winning 2 of them). They have forged ties with Bradley Stoke Youth football club to encourage its oldest members to join, but with 4 teams representing the club, they are always on the look out for new players to help improve the quality of the squad. The Club's ethos is to provide a friendly club for members to enjoy their football, to foster loyalty, encourage and reward effort and promote the Club, Town and local community of Bradley Stoke. Club history. Bradley Stoke Town FC was conceived when two local residents James Palmer and Nick Potter got together to start a club in the town in early Bradley Stoke had at the time a very healthy youth set up in the town but no where for these young men to step up to once they were too old to play youth football. Posters were put up around the town and in the local supermarket encouraging players to come along to training and try out with us. The very first training session was on a small area the size of a tennis court and when only 8 people turned up, we wondered whether this was going to be a good idea. Anyhow, as word got about, we managed to recruit enough players for the start of the season. Remarkably we won our very first game 7-1. We would eventually finish 8 th in Division 6 that season. The following season, we had sufficient numbers that we were able to raise a 2 nd team, the Reserves, we entered the Reserves into the Bristol and Avon League. At the end of the season, the 1 st Team won the Division 6 title which meant we got promoted to Division 5 and allowed us to promote the Reserve team to the Bristol & District league Division 6 for the following season. Since we had grown substantially in players, we were able to expand and start a 3 rd Team, who would replace the Reserves in the Bristol & Avon league. Another notable success that season included reaching the final of the GFA Minor Cup. We were beaten 2-1 by Brislington Cricketers, who were two leagues above us. We came close to equalising in the last minute hitting the post, which would have taken us into extra time. In the 1 st Team finished runners-up in Bristol & District league Division 5 and were subsequently promoted. Our Reserves finished 7 th in Division 6 and despite our lowly
5 finish in the Bristol Avon League that season, our A Team won the Jack Jenkins Memorial Trophy with a 1-0 win in the final against Lawrence Rovers, played at Yate Towns home pitch. The 1 st Team became Champions again on Division 4 in and the Reserves, who finished 6 th in Division 6 again promotion. In we secured 3 rd place finish in Division 3 was enough for the 1 st Team to be promoted for the 4 th time in as many seasons. The 1 st Team finished 4 th in Division 2, with the Reserves finishing mid-table in Division 5. The A Team finished in 11 th position of the Bristol and Avon League. We also introduced a Vets Team and played in the Gloucestershire Vets League South. The most notable success during the campaign was the 2-1 victory over Mendip United Reserves in the GFA Intermediate Cup. The club expanded again during the season, introducing a 4 th team to play on Saturday. There was a vacant slot in Division 6 of the Bristol & District League and even though the season had already started, BSTFC applied and entered this league. By the end of this season, the 1 st Team and the Reserves both secure promotion to Division 1 and Division 4 respectively. A very satisfactory conclusion to the season capped by today s fixture. Training. We train at Bradley Stoke Community School each Tuesday evening session during the playing season. We start summer training during June on grass before moving to Astroturf from September. Our coaches are Level 2 qualified. Socialising We have a great social set-up. We run a number of events through-out the season, which culminates in an end of season Presentation and Award ceremony, as well as an end of season tour. In previous years we ve toured places such as Newquay, Blackpool, Bournemouth and Dublin. This year the Team are off to Newcastle.
