Hello Tri Delta Parents! March 2018 We hope you are all doing well! This newsletter is coming a little bit on the later end because we wanted to include the amazing recent events that have occurred. It is such a pleasure to share some updates with you from our chapter. This issue will be yet another long one because we have had so many awesome experiences! We are so grateful and lucky to have such a wonderful chapter. Just a few things you can expect an update on: Delta House of Pancakes, Tri Delta Formal and Frats at Bat...but there is so much more too! Get ready for a lot of pictures as well! Seniors savoring their last pre-formal pictures. We love you all! (instagram.com/the_sydtuation) As we enter the last big grind of school before exams for the spring semester, we are very fortunate to have Tri Delt events to motivate us and to give us a nice break from studying!
Delta House of Pancakes (aka DHOP)! When: Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 from 5:00-7:30 pm Where: The Tri Delt House We had the BEST time flipping pancakes and supporting N.C. Children s Hospital! We were so excited to raise money for our local philanthropy. Overall, we ended up raising over $6,500 for UNC Children s! Here are some pictures from the event. Huge thanks and appreciation to our Local Philanthropy Chair, Bailey McNeill! YOU did amazing! The masterplanner behind it all...our Local Philanthropy Chair, Bailey McNeill!
Rhyme Without Reason Cocktail When: Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 Where: R&R Grill The Rhyme Without Reason Cocktail was a huge hit! This new theme was the perfect opportunity to get creative. Everyone looked great, and we were amazed at some people s ability to think outside the box for their attire. This cocktail was our last one of the semester, but we are so grateful! Many thanks to our Social Chair, Charlotte McArthur. You have crushed it so far, to say the least! Sophomores Meg Pieper (Meg and her date were Martial Arts and King of Hearts) and Anna Shuford (Anna and her date were Scholar and Baller)! So creative! Sophomore Elizabeth Serafen and her date were Avril Lavigne and a Marine!
Tri Deltas on Spring Break Spring Break came at the perfect time for our chapter. Whether going home, going to another country, or anywhere in between, we were happy for the hiatus from school. Our chapter went just about everywhere for Spring Break. We had girls in Jamaica, Europe, the Bahamas, Punta Cana, and many other awesome places. Here are just a few photos from some of the amazing trips that Tri Delts took this Spring Break. A few of our first-years on a boat ride in Punta Cana, DR! Sophomore, Betsy Byrne, at OWA Amusement Park in Orange Beach, AL. Sophomore, Elsa Mark, looking over Lisbon, Portugal. Seniors Kristina Funder, Isabel Herring, Marika Economos, and Hannah Stewart in Jamaica!
Tri Delta Formal When: Friday, March 23rd, 2018 Where: The Carolina Inn Sophomores obviously having fun and taking pictures before the formal! (instagram.com/elizabethsbrogden) Our formal was such a fun night! It always is, but this past Friday, we had wonderful sunny weather and the Carolina Inn was a great venue! Formal is always a great opportunity to witness the sisterhood in chapter. We are so lucky to have such a close, tight-knit and hardworking chapter of women. Here are some more photos from the event!
We had so many beautiful photos but we could only include so many! Frats at Bat (aka FAB)! When: Sunday, March 25th, 2018 Where: Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Central Office
And the winner is.kappa SIGMA! Coached by sophomores Stewart Parkhurst and Kimmee Gottwald! Frats at Bat was a HUGE success as well! This event is one of our big philanthropy events for St. Jude! Fraternities on campus donate money to our philanthropy and then get to play in an intense baseball tournament! We began the tournament with 30 teams and eventually made it down to the final game between Kappa Sigma and the seniors of Phi Delta Theta. Kappa Sig won with a score of The real win however, was the amount that we raised for St. Jude Children s Hospital.which was over $10,000!
Delta s Only Pure Barre Class! When: Monday, March 26th, 2018 Where: The Tri Delt Lawn Our awesome Member Development Chair, Schuyler Moss, organized a barre class with Pure Barre Durham/Chapel Hill! We had 16 girls participate, and everyone loved it! We are so grateful for our Delta s Only events. We will have a few more during the rest of the semester! Here are some pictures from the barre class:
