3 football: The JV football team played Eagle grove on October 1. "The game went really good, but there were some improvements that can be made," said brady berg, a JV player. the hawks ended up winning The varsity team won against Roland Story on September 24. The team won again on September 31 against Hudson. the hawks lost on October 7 and 14, but won again on the 5th. Volleyball: The Hawks volleyball team finished their regular season in October. The hawks won the first game of regionals, but lost the second game. We will have to wait until next season for more volleyball action! Cross country: The Girls Cross Country team made it to state! The Cross country team will be competing in state on saturday, October 27. "The Cross country team has been doing really well this year!" says sidney alsager.
4 4-h: October 7-13 is national 4-h week. We would like to encourage everyone, 4th graders especially, to join 4-H. CLS meet 5:00 every 2nd Tuesday Lions Kings meet on every 2nd Saturday at 1:30 Tipton Grant Toppersmeet monthly on Sunday at 7:00 Central Iowa Basketball Rec. League: This league is for boys and girls in grades 3rd,4th,5th, and 6th. South Hamilton has been invited to participate in the Central Iowa Recreation Basketball League. Practice will begin once the teams are determined. Basketball games will take place during the months of January and february on Saturdays. There is a need for volunteers and a $35 registration fee. If you are interested please grab a form in the elementary office!!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: the hunger games are coming up, and prim and katniss are scared. prim isn't expected to get picked for the games, because she's only twelve, but she does. katniss takes prim's place in the games along with peeta. the games are a race to survive. read this book to see what action packed things happen in this dystopian book
