The best part our Chamber for a great 2017 and best about TBID is that it is funded by adding wishes for a fantastic upcoming year. only $1 per night to area motel room Speaking of great times ahead, this charges. 4 Chat with Christine As I write this for the Chatter, I find my mind is overloaded and wandering. How many fish will come in today for paddlefish harvest? Will the anglers arrive to help us fill the quota? Will I have my tourism presentation done in time? Will I get my son back off to college for his summer transmissions program? Lots to think about. What it means for the Chamber is we are busy and moving forward at a very consistent fast pace. We are already seeing travelers and visitors at our Visitor Information Center so the summer is off to a very nice start. If your business has informational flyers or other promotional information you would like at the VIC for visitors please bring them to our office. We do have a great area day trip scenic stops and inspirational places map from SE Montana so bring you visitors to get ideas of what to do and where to explore when they visit this summer. Remember, the web site is a great place to start to find events, places to explore and activities available right here in our community. June is full of activities so plan to take some time and get out and enjoy! June 8-9 th we kick off another great season for Makoshika State Park with Buzzard Days, the Enchanted Room Quilt Show, Kirke Vintage Market and other great ShopGlendive events. The Chamber is pleased to host the Miss Montana Shoe Us Your Shoes parade, Friday, June 15 th at 1 pm. This will be followed by our annual community ice cream social downtown at the Gazebo! Father s Day weekend also showcases the Dawson County Fair Carnival & Outdoor Show along with the first Bump-n-Run Saturday June 16 th. Follow these great events with the Badlands Drifter s Car Show June 22 nd & 23 rd and the Abate Poker Run and you will have an exciting and jam packed June! Remember to get your organizational events into the community calendar by simply logging on the go to the Calendar of Event and take a few minutes to fill out the form. This is free service for all in our community so lets fill that calendar up. As we look beyond June the Chamber is planning for some other exciting events. We will host the first Annual Downtown Rumble 3on3 Basketball ½ court tournament, July th which will also be the Crazy Dayz weekend. Get your registrations in! This tournament is for 4 th grade all the way through oldtimer (over 30) adults. Planning is also in full swing for the BBQ in the Badlands, September 29 th, and this year we are bringing a new event to Glendive with the Badlands Women s Expo. This will be two days of inspiration to foster entrepreneurial spirit and networking opportunities to grow women owned businesses and strengthen professional skills. Judy Blunt, author of Breaking Clean will be our keynote and this promises to be a premier event for our region. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of these exciting events please contact our office at, we d love to plug you in to all we are doing at your chamber. Well, I need to be off to the river soon, so I hope your summer is filled with sunshine, adventure, safe travels and a little bit of time on the porch enjoying friends and neighbors. Remember our Visitor information when you are hosting friends and families. If you stop and fill out an invite postcard we will be happy to mail those to your guests.
