1 Musical Notes September 2014 President s Message Welcome to the school year! OFMA is excited for this school year as we continue to support, encourage, advance, and cultivate, through volunteerism and fund raising, the musical education of all students in the Olmsted Falls City Schools. We invite you to get involved in OFMA by attending our once a month meetings. OFMA meets the 1st Wednesday of each month during the school year at 7 p.m. in the high school choir room. Our 1st meeting will be Wednesday September 3rd. I hope to see many new faces become a part of the OFMA team. We are only as strong as our volunteers. Join us to see what OFMA is all about and how you can be a part of your children s music experience. 2 Our Mission: To support, encourage, advance, and cultivate, through volunteerism and fundraising, the musical education of students in the Olmsted Falls City Schools. It s Football Season and...it s the start of donut sales. OFMA will be selling Krispy Kreme donuts at each football home game. We need volunteers to help with the sales. Contact Dave Stricklen at or at stricklend@asconline.com to get on the volunteer schedule. Volunteers get in the games free. OFMA also sells donuts at the Middle School and High School band and choir concerts. Contact Dave if you want to help with the donut Last year s donut profit was just shy of $4,000. sales during concert season. $6 for a box of 1 dozen donuts You could win a new car!!! Tickets for the raffle of a 2014 Chevy Cruze LS are available through music teachers Mrs. Budd, Mrs. Crandall or Ellen Bertrand, OFMA President. Tickets are $10 each and half of the sales price comes back to the High School band and choir. Ticket sales ends September 30th. The winner will be chosen on October 31st at the Olmsted Falls final varsity football home game. Deadline to purchase tickets is Sept. 30th. Order your Spirit wear!! Purchase a T-shirt, Polo shirt or Sweat shirt and show off your Bulldog Pride this season. Deadline for order forms is September 3rd. See attached order form. Orders due by September 3rd. OFMA gives scholarships to graduating seniors. OFMA provides funds for sound equipment for all school buildings. OFMA provides funds for musical enrichment programs.
