5 6 What s Up? Olgas! A group of us joined each other for lunch on Shelby s first restaurant outing. We loaded up the bus and went over to Olga s Kitchen, located in the Westland Mall. Let her know what your favorite restaurant is so we can plan a trip! Laughter Wellness Laughter Wellness is a new form of lifestyle medicine that uses the energy of laughter to promote health and well-being in body, mind and spirit. It is based on the teachings of Laughter Yoga and Laughter Wellness. Bonnie Weintrob joined us for our first laughter wellness course, and she will be coming back. Look at how much fun we had! Choir The American House Choir will be starting up this month and we are actively seeking new members. If you are interested please let Shelby know and we can work together in arrangements. The first choir meeting is Monday, September 12th, at 12:00 pm. Lots of big smiles; there wasn t a dry eye in the house. Bonnie will be joining us again in September. 6 7 Ice Cream Truck Social We transformed our bus into an ice cream truck and we had a blast! This is something we ve decided needs to be done a few times a year. We will be doing one to salute to summer on September 22nd. We can t wait! Creative Arts We also had the pleasure of doing our plate project again! Many of you know one of our awesome volunteers, Bev; she came back to help us decorate our early fall and Christmas plates. We are already working on some awesome crafts for you to get your hands dirty. We will keep you posted on what we brainstorm. Arts & Crafts Coloring Doesn t matter the generation, coloring has been proven to be an incredibly therapeutic pastime. We had the pleasure of some of our staff joining us on break to get their therapy on. This is a new activity that will be done once a month in the cafe! Keep your eyes out! Join us on September 13th for our first at 2:30 pm.
