October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In order to show our support, the football players, cheerleaders, and coaches of West Allegheny Youth Football & Cheer are wearing pink wristbands for the month of October.

Our 12U boys have been working twice as hard this year with Middle School football practice and WAYFC practice. They are moving in the right direction with the playoffs right around the corner. The coaching staff is very proud of each and every boy and the effort that they have given this year. We wish them much success throughout the rest of the season. The 12U cheerleaders are doing an amazing job. You can see them perform at halftime of the 12U game. The 12U coaches are very proud of the effort that each and every girl has given at practice and during the games. Great job 12U football players and 12U cheerleaders!

3 West Allegheny Youth Football and Cheer Page 3 of 6, Grace Pedockie, Alison Keefer, Youth Night Our WAYFC football players and cheerleaders represented our organization well during youth night at the West Allegheny High School game against Steel Valley. All of our football players and cheerleaders made a human tunnel for the high school team to run through to start the game off and then our cheerleaders joined the varsity cheerleaders on the sidelines to cheer the high school team on to victory. The girls did a great job keeping up with the older girls. LAST WEEK S GAME DAY RESULTS Our 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, & 11U teams played at Moon and our 12U team played at South Fayette. West Allegheny fought hard and ended the day with a 3-3 record. Our 7U, 8U, and 12U teams recorded a win while our 9U, 10U, and 11U teams came out on the losing end. This weekend is the last week of the season before playoffs begin. Great job boys! Bonfire The WAYFC Organization will hold its annual bonfire after practice on Wednesday, October 16 at Donaldson Park. Come out and cheer on our boys as they get ready for the first round of the SSYFL playoffs. SPIRIT DAY DON T FORGET TO SHOW YOUR WEST ALLEGHENY SPIRIT BY WEARING YOUR FOOTBALL JERSEY OR CHEER UNIFORM TO SCHOOL ON FRIDAYS!

If West Allegheny is chosen as one of the hosts of the first round, we will hold them on Sunday, October 20. For us to host the playoffs we need your help. We will need parents to step up and work the concession stand, run the clock and do the sticks. Think about giving an hour or so of your time if we are chosen. We will let you know as soon as we hear if we will be hosting the playoffs again this year.
