2 Ticket Information This year we will again offer assigned seating for our show through the online ticketing service Tutu Tix. As part of your recital fee each family will receive a promotion code for 4 ticket vouchers. You may also purchase additional seats. All of your ticket orders can be made at one time, however since the assigned voucher codes may only be used once, please plan accordingly. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Having a promotion code does not guarantee a seat until you make your selection with Tutu Tix. Everyone will need to choose an assigned seat. Promotion codes will be distributed along with directions to all families who have paid recital fees and are up to date for tuition. YOU MUST PAY ALL FEES TO PARTICATE AND GET A TICKET PROMO CODE. WHEN and WHERE TO BUY: Promotion Code redemption and discount ticket purchases begin May 1st and ends on May 18th. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door on May 19th at an increased rate. Please follow the ticket tab link on our website ( to be directed to the official ticket order page. WHO NEEDS TICKETS: Tickets/ confirmations must be brought with you to the show to gain admittance. Anyone who does not have a ticket on the day of the show will not be allowed to watch with the exception of young lap children. Your dancer will NOT need a ticket for a show when they are performing. Dancers will stay backstage during the entire show and will not be released to sit with their families. 3 IMPORTANT RECITAL INFORMATION Your dancer is required to be at the theatre at Paulding County High School 30 MINUTES before the performance. Please arrive with hair and make-up done. ***Company dancers please note your call will be earlier than this, please consult your /phdc website for details. All Dancers- Please check-in at the welcome desk located in the performing arts building. Please follow signs to direct you to your dressing room location where all dancers will stay during the show. Dancers will be escorted backstage for their performance and the finale. Parents can pick up students after the performance at their dressing room. All recreational and Dazzle/Flash/Spark/Thunder Company dancers will be in the gym. All dancers should arrive in costume with hair and make-up done. If your dancer has more than one costume, please arrive in the FIRST costume. A show order list is included in this packet and will be posted at the studio and also at Dress Rehearsal. Please note the Dress Rehearsal order and the show order is different; so please check both for specific order. Please label all costumes, shoes, hairpieces etc. with dancer s name. Please refer to individual class handouts for proper tights, shoes, hairstyle and make-up. Hair tutorials are posted on our website under the recital tab. 4 Group and Individual Photos We are proud to offer photos by Keiko Guest, she is well known in the Atlanta area and a great photographer. Locations will either be May 10 th at Powerhouse Dance Center or May 18 th at Paulding County High School, please refer to the information in this packet for the correct location for your dancer. All dancers should plan to arrive in costume w/light makeup (DO NOT wear full stage makeup for recital photos) TO AVOID ANY EXTRA EDITING AND ASSOCIATED FEES: - Cut loose strings/threads from shoes, leotards, costumes, etc. - Check teeth for lipstick - See that no straps or undergarments show - Use Hair Spray to prevent frizzies - CLEAN dance shoes with strings tucked in - Check for runs and holes in tights no holes or runs permitted. - POINTE SHOES: clean & broken-in, with ribbons properly tied and tucked in HOW WILL PHOTO SESSIONS RUN? Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your picture time to check in, dancers MUST be in full costume and makeup at the time listed on the photo schedule. We will take group and individual photos at this time. All photos must be ordered on the day of pictures and will not be available for purchase later. Please discuss with your dancer your plans for individual shots as the photographer will only capture those dancers looking to make a purchase. NEW: An instructor will be stationed with the photographer to select individual photos. Any image request (close-up, heel-stretch, no splits, etc.) must be made in advance. Dancers who want an individual must have a signed form with them during their photo session. The form in included in this packet and will also be available online. Please Remember: Dancers scheduled for photos on May 10 th at the studio will have their rehearsal on the 16 th at Paulding County High School. Dancers taking photos on May 18 th will have their dress rehearsal immediately following their photo session at Paulding County High School. IF YOU MISS YOUR PICTURE TIME YOU WILL NOT BE IN PICTURES. We must keep things moving in order to accommodate our busy schedule.

6 DRESS REHEARSAL INFORMATION In order to make each child s recital experience a great one, we want each dancer to be able to practice on the theater stage at least once in full costume including hairstyle and dance shoes prior to the big show. Please refer to the costume handout you will receive with each costume, for your specific hairstyle. Where: Paulding County High School When: May 16 th or May 18 th (refer to the detailed sheet in this for your specific day/time) Dancers will check in and be given an assigned row with their class in the theater. These assigned areas are for dancers only. It is very important that the class stay together as a group so that we can keep our rehearsal on schedule. Dress rehearsal is a great time to take videos and/or flash photography as neither is allowed during the actual recital. PLEASE PLAN EXTRA TIME FOR TRAFFIC, WE ARE NOT ABLE TO RERUN DANCES IF SOMEONE IS LATE. Preschool Combo Classes: On May 18 th you will be doing both photos and rehearsal, please arrive wearing your tap costume for your first picture, your second picture will be in your ballet costume. You will remain in your ballet costume and ballet shoes for dress rehearsal.

Please Note: In order to make the recital experience enjoyable for everyone, and for the safety of your dancers and teachers, we do not allow flash photography or video recording during the show. To purchase please fill out the order form below. The first DVD costs $35, cost of two discs is $65 and for all three discs is $90. You can also select Blu-ray for $7 more per disc. Payment is required at time of order. You will not be able to purchase these after the fact - so please order now. 11 PHDC Stage Make Up Application Dancers, even young ones, wear makeup on stage in order to make their faces and expressions visible to the audience. Makeup can emphasize facial features that would otherwise be washed out by stage lights. Follow these simple steps to create a perfect, stage-ready face. 1. Foundation: is used to even out the complexion and reduce shadows from stage lights. Always apply foundation to a clean moisturized face. Choose a shade very similar to the color of the face. Using a makeup sponge, apply an even coat of foundation to the entire face, including under the chin, onto the neck, around the ears and up to the hairline. Blend carefully to ensure an even application. Set the foundation with a small amount of powder. 2. Eye Liner: Lining the eyes with black eyeliner makes them really stand out. To line the upper lid, apply a thin, straight line starting from the inner corner. For a dramatic effect, allow the line to extend beyond the natural eyelid. To line the lower lid, start at the outer corner of the eye and draw a thin line under the lower lashes. 3. Eye shadow: Apply over the entire eyelid. Choose 3 colors from the brown family that will make your eyes stand out on stage, as stage lights tend to make the eyes appear smaller. Apply the medium shade (light tan) to the entire eyelid, Apply the lightest shade (white shimmer) under the eyebrow and in the inner corner of the eye. Apply the darkest shade (dark brown) near the eye lash-line sweeping out slightly to the outer corner of the eye, also apply this shade in the crease from the middle of the eye to the outer corner. Slightly blend the colors together. 4. Mascara: gently sweep two to three coats on upper and lower lashes. 5. Lipstick: Carefully apply a bright shade of red lipstick to the upper and lower lips. Blot softly with a tissue. Lips can be lined with a red lipstick liner before applying lipstick to create more definition.

12 6. Blush: Blush adds color as well as definition to the face. Choose a rose or peach colored blush similar to the natural color of the cheeks. Smile and apply blush to the apples of the cheeks, sweeping up and out toward the hairline. 7. Powder: Use a powder brush to apply loose or compact powder and set the makeup and prevent shine on more oily prone skin. Makeup Color Palate EYESHADOW (dark brown, light tan, and white)
