John represented Port Jackson District at this event this week and performed with distinction. Debating Success Our debating team enjoyed a double success this week with wins for both teams (home and away) in the debate against Dobroyd Point PS. 2 wins with a particularly challenging topic, That social media does more harm than good, showed that our teams could rise to the challenge set for them by Ms Schenker. Fencing Project The K-2 fencing project is now backon-track after a delay when additional funding was required due to finding some very hard rock when drilling for the posts. The project should be finished by 17 August. Kind regards Peter Widders

Senior A Netball Team Last week the senior A netball team played against Concord West and won It was a windy and rough game. It was a good game for Esra Valerio and Grace Garraway because they were playing their best positions but on a whole, the team was playing very well. We are all really proud of our efforts and we re looking forward to the next game. By Mikayla.Allan
Senior B Report Netball On Friday last week, we had a friendly game against Five Dock Public School. It was heaps of fun as they were good opponents. When the game had ended, the score was6-3 to us so even if it was a real game, it was probably wouldn t change where we are on the leader board. By Natasha Dalima 5/6H
Senior Girls Soccer Report Last week, on Friday, the senior girl s soccer team had a great game. Our opponents were Hurlstone Park. Unfortunately Abbotsford lost 4 0. We played very well and we all enjoyed it. Hopefully, next week will be better and very enjoyable. Great team work was shown and a lot of passes were shown as well. Our team has made great effort in this season and we will try to show more in the next games. By Mila McHardy 5/6I
Debating Congratulations to both the affirmative and negative debating teams who won against Dobroyd Point PS on Tuesday 7 th August 2012! The topic was That social networking does more harm than good and the whole debating group worked hard to develop good arguments and rebuttals. In the next round we will meet Annandale Nth PS to debate that animals should have the same rights as humans. Ms Schenker Debating Coordinator

In our first match we versed Christian Brothers Red. We got up to a good start with Tane and Riley scoring a quick 30 runs. When Tane retired and Riley got out the boys carried on the momentum with Nick hitting some big sixes. Our final score was 61. Now it was our turn to bowl, the whole team bowled really well with only a couple of wides. We ended up winning In our second game we were up against Christian Brothers yellow. We played really well in the second game with some great bowling by Adam Quinlan (getting a Hat trick) which is a great effort. We ended up winning In our next game we were versing Petersham. We were all focused on making the final so we were ready to play. The team batted brilliantly with Tane and Nick both getting 18 or more runs. We got 68. We bowled really well but the big highlight was Connor, Josh and Riley bowling really tightly. We won WE WERE IN TO THE FINAL! In the grand final we were up against Stanmore. We got off to a good start with Tane and Nick both retiring. Ben and Riley had a great partnership towards the end hitting some great boundaries. We ended up getting 77, our highest score yet. We bowled really well with some great bowling by Guy and Ben. We kept them to 41. The end score was WE WON THE MILO CUP!
Milo Cup Cricket On Tuesday the 31 st July, 9 girls from Stage Three left at the first bell for Milo cricket and we won against Haberfield. Then we sadly lost against South Coogee White and then we lost against Petersham. Then we got into the finals to compete for the position for 3 rd or 4 th place, but we sadly lost against South Coogee Black. So even though we did not make Regional s we still had lots of fun and that s what matters the most (on the inside we won).
