We have a lot of fun activities for our Members planned this fall, and we look forward to seeing you participate in our upcoming events. Our traditional Halloween family event will be on Monday, Oct 31 st from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We are opening for this special event due to the popularity of this tradition. We will have DJ Ray for all to dance, Chef Benito will be preparing a special dinner for the entire family to enjoy, cupcake decorating, bounce house, costume contest and we ll end it with trick or treating around the clubhouse. Please call the Receptionist to make your family s reservation. Friday Night Live continues to be a success. In October, our entertainment lineup is very exciting as we have several Club members performing that you won t want to miss. On Oct. 7 th Club member Garland Strong will bring his band Primetime to the stage and on Oct. 28 th we have the Three Amigos with Club member Brock Stevens and a special appearance of the Million Dollar Quartet from Casa Manna s Broadway Production, in the Horizon Lounge. If you haven t attended one of these fun evenings with live entertainment then please take this as an invitation. We don t take reservations, so come early, enjoy dinner and stay for the show. Entertainment is from 7:30 11:00 p.m. Chef Benito and Wajdi have paired up with a new member tradition on Saturday evenings beginning Oct. 8 th with a Wine & Prime Night featuring a 10oz Prime Rib, salad and baked potato bar and vegetables paired with our half price wine by the glass. Chef will have Salmon and Lobster available for those members and guests who enjoy a little surf n turf. Come join us in the Horizon Lounge or make reservations in the Sunset Grill (unless booked for a member private party). Your continued support of the Club by hosting private events is much appreciated. Our Club is quickly booking up for holiday parties during December. If you haven t scheduled your company s or group of friends a room to host your Christmas party, please contact MaryEllen Ford so you don t miss out! As a Member, you also have the privilege of sponsoring a friend or business associate to have an event at your Club. Please call or your Private Events Director, MaryEllen Ford, with any questions. 1989-1992! He was born in Tatura, Victoria Australia.

Simmons University. Brad s favorite Member event is the Annual Tennis Pro/Am.

10 Meet Brad! Brad Ibbott is the Director of Tennis here at Mira Vista! He has been with MVCC for 20 years and was actually the first assistant from ! He was born in Tatura, Victoria Australia. He came over to the US in 1984 to pursue a College Tennis Scholarship at Hardin Simmons University. Brad s favorite Member event is the Annual Tennis Pro/Am. He really enjoys getting to interact with the Members and running all the Tennis programs. If he s not on the court you can catch him playing some golf or spending time with his wife, 3 kids and Lab! Say hi to Brad next time you see him around the Club and congratulate him on 20 years!!

GOLF COURSE MAITENANCE Howdy Folks, The heat of summer is behind us and the dew sweeper s club off number one tee needs your name added to it.

The lifting and cleaning up of tree lines is an annual practice we do on the course. Trimming is done with a focus to improve line of sight down the hole towards the green.

In many areas lifting the tree line improves the quality of grass under the tree, by simply letting more sunlight get to the grass.

October means it time to over seed the practice range and par 3 tees. The seed, depending on the weather should start to grow within a couple of weeks. The staff will also start fall tree trimming. We also remove any dead or poor structure limbs to improve the health of the tree. In many areas lifting the tree line improves the quality of grass under the tree, by simply letting more sunlight get to the grass.
