2 GM Report We look forward to Memorial Day weekend as we kickoff the 2018 summer season! Meet us at the club for the Welcome Back cocktail party and dinner. Also, don t forget to sign up for the Welcome Back golf tournament at the golf shop! Our staff is excited and prepared for the 2018 season ahead. The clubhouse team visited Sysco last month to prepare for the spring season. Chef Melanie and her staff have done a tremendous job over the winter and we look forward to her creativity through the summer months. We have been planning some fun events for the summer season. We will have comedian Dave Goodman coming back to Eagles Mere as well as trivia night and Mingo! Keep an eye out on the schedule of events to be sure you make it for each and every one! Our entire team looks forward to seeing you all back on the mountain. Never hesitate to ask if we can be of help! The golf staff is prepared to start events this month so be sure to check out the rest of this newsletter and the schedule of events on the club website to be sure you get signed up. I also have an important notice listed below for our golfing membership. Bandon Dunes Trip Over the winter, I have been in the process of planning a trip to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon. This trip will take place October 23-27, The trip will require a nonrefundable payment of $2,100 to hold your spot. This payment includes your golf and hotel stay at the resort. Not included in the $2,100 is your flight, local transportation, food/drink costs, and caddie fees if desired. The trip includes 18 holes on all four of the walking-only championship golf courses at Bandon Dunes and four night stay at the beautiful resort. We are limited in the number of guests that can attend the trip. Please contact me directly if you are interested and would like information on the trip details and costs. Because of the limited number of guests that can attend, spots will be held based on the date of submitting the required down payment. My deadline to confirm our guests is May 26 so be sure to contact me very soon if interested. See you soon, Seth Monday, June 18th the Clubhouse will be Closed for Staff Appreciation Day! Assistant GM Report May is here, so warm weather is near! As the sun returns to Sullivan County, so do many people to enjoy the mountain. I want to welcome back everyone who is returning to Eagles Mere from their winter destinations, as well as our members who remained on the mountain that can once more enjoy the course and the clubhouse camaraderie. Welcome! I would also like to spread the word about the local TV station Our Town documentary on Sullivan County. WVIA-TV, a PBS-affiliated television station located in Pittston, PA, is creating a video scrapbook of Sullivan County as a part of their Our Town series. This hour-long documentary episode will air for the first time on June 11th. This will be a great marketing tool for our community. We will have the opportunity to purchase the video and use it to showcase our club to prospects for membership. EMCC is a sponsor of the episode and will be highlighted throughout. We hope you are able to tune in and see the production! If you know of anyone that may be interested in receiving a membership packet, please let me know. Lastly, if anyone has any questions concerning their membership, the office door is always open. Please feel free to stop in and chat or to reach out to me via phone or . Enjoy your May! 8 Membership Committee- Steve Wilds, Chair Dear Fellow Members: During the golf off season at our Club, your Membership Committee and Board of Directors have been busy developing new membership initiatives to enhance membership opportunities to potential new members and to encourage existing social members to either take up the game of golf or, for those who already play, to increase the rounds that are otherwise currently available to social members. To that end, two new membership classifications have been implemented about which you should be aware. They are: Provisional Member and Existing Social Member Step Up. Specific, detailed descriptions of these two new classifications are set forth on page 2 of this letter, but allow me to summarize the salient features for you. The Provisional Member classification allows either an individual or family to join as either social or full golfing members, as the case may be, for a period of one fiscal year, paying the then applicable rates for those categories, while deferring the payment of any initiation fee until the fiscal year ends and the provisional member elects to remain a member. The Existing Social Member Step Up classification affords a current social member of the Club a one-time opportunity to step up to a full golfing membership for a period of one fiscal year, on a trial basis, to determine if a full golf membership makes more sense for the member. The annual dues for a member choosing this one-year step up is $2,380.00, rather than the current full golfing dues of $3, Both of these categories were developed to provide additional incentives to those folks who have either been thinking of joining the Club in the first place (the Provisional Member) or of transitioning from Social to Golf on account of wanting to play more golf (the Step Up). For either of these categories to gain traction and to be successful, it is essential that our current membership understand and embrace the changes in order to effectively promote them to potential new members or to current social members wanting to play more rounds on our wonderful golf course. Some members may question why new membership classifications are necessary and why so many perceived benefits are being bestowed upon others. The simple answer is that, while our Club remains financially healthy and vibrant, total membership continues to decline and remains a major focus of your Board. Since the Club s annual budget is in large part established by and tied to annual dues income, keeping membership levels healthy remains the #1 priority of your Board. How can you do your part as an ambassador of the Club? Continue to mine for new members and keep talking up all of the benefits and privileges of being a member of EMCC to all with whom you associate. Remind all that there is a membership classification for them and an eagerness on the part of your Board and management to accommodate varied membership preferences. The Membership Committee, the Board of Directors, and your Club s Senior Management Team will be ready at all times to answer any questions that you may have pertaining to the new membership classifications and questions about membership generally. Provisional Member ---- An individual or family may apply to be a Provisional Social Member or a Provisional Full/Golfing Member, as the case may be, by completing and submitting the normal membership application materials and checking the appropriate category. A member joining under this classification shall be entitled to enjoy full membership privileges for the current fiscal year and shall pay all standard dues, fees and food minimums associated with either a Social or Full/Golfing membership, as applicable. Upon expiration of the current fiscal year, the Provisional Member shall provide written notice to the Club as to whether the member wishes to continue his/her membership or resign from the Club. If the Provisional Member elects to continue membership, he/she shall pay the appropriate initiation fee applicable to the category of the membership selected along with all required dues, fees, etc. going forward. A Provisional Member shall not be entitled to purchase stock in the Club or otherwise vote on any matter until he/she has paid the required initiation fee and shall not be entitled to elect the benefits of this class of membership more than once during his/her tenure as a member of the Club. Any promotional benefits due an existing member for proposing for membership a Provisional Member shall not be due and payable to the proposing member until the Provisional Member pays the applicable initiation fee upon expiration of the current fiscal year, as set forth herein. Existing Social Member Step Up --- A current Social Member in good standing shall have the one-time opportunity, for a period of one fiscal year, to step up to a Full Golfing membership to afford that member and his/her family the opportunity to evaluate whether he/she wishes to become a permanent Full Golfing member. Individuals electing this membership category shall be entitled to enjoy all benefits and privileges accorded to Full Golfing members, including unlimited use of the golf course and other Club facilities, but shall not be entitled to vote on any matter requiring a vote of the membership until said member elects to become a permanent Full Golfing member and pays all applicable fees after the expiration of the current fiscal year. Any member electing to step up as described above who opts not to continue as a Full Golfing Member after the expiration of the current fiscal year shall revert to Social Member status. The annual dues for this membership classification shall be $2,380.00, as opposed to the then current dues for a Full Golfing membership.

9 Golf Shop Hours May-Sept Mon Fri 7:30-6:30 Sat and Sun 7:00-6:30 Golf News Note from Golf Committee Please help in taking care of our driving range this year. When hitting on the range if you could please consolidate your divots to one small area rather than spreading them over a wide hitting area. Be sure to replace all your divots with the dirt mix that is provided at the driving range. We also ask that you to place your ball baskets back in the ball bins after you are finished hitting balls. These baskets are light and blow away easily. Helping us with these items will keep the range in the best shape possible for the season. Turf Talk: The course came through the winter in good shape. I hope everyone had a good winter and I am looking forward to seeing you back on the mountain. The crew and I are working to get the course ready for another great year. See you soon on the course. Don Green Superintendent Golf Shop We have so many new brands and products to check out this year! Stop by the shop when you are in town. We will have many sales going on throughout the year. We always have our Seth s Mistakes sale area, which is Buy One Get One Free!

10 Golf News Continued... Golf Committee Greetings golfers. It s now official...the 2018 season is underway, but it seems that Mother Nature has not been willing to give up on winter. Snow remains, despite the fact that I m writing our May newsletter segment in late April! Please check in with the pro shop to assure that conditions permit play. Weekly events like Ladies Day and Turkey Shoot are on the calendar already, and we are looking forward to the tournament season getting underway. Final sign up for Men s League is May 6th and we currently have 12 teams participating. Seth has tournament information posted on the website, and has sent out sign-up deadlines. Observing the deadlines allows Seth and his staff to set up pairings, assure that preparations for tournaments are completed and that the events run smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation. The Ice Breaker is scheduled for May 12th and the Welcome Back for May 27th. We already have 20 teams signed up for the Member-Guest in June, and don t forget the Albertini President s cup, also in June. The pro shop is now fully stocked with lots of new brands. Check out the latest gear and be sure to schedule your lessons early. If you have a particular golf product need, feel free to inquire with the staff. The range is also open and ready for use. Note that the staff will completely pick the range every Tuesday, so it will close at 4:30 PM, and then reopen on Wednesday mornings at 9 AM. Please stay within the tee markers and ropes, and fill divots after you finish hitting on the range. We also ask that members using the driving range please walk from the pro shop to the range whenever possible. Carrying clubs to the range will reduce cart congestion around the pro shop. On the course, it s very important to replace divots and fix ball marks immediately. Please respect the course and your fellow members by doing so. We have already seen infractions of cart rules this season, with members driving too close to greens. Please follow our cart rules to the letter. Exit fairways at the green posts to avoid damaging areas around our greens. Thanks to our golfers for continued pace of play improvement. At EMCC we target 4 hour rounds and many of our members are achieving that goal. Seth and his staff will continue to monitor pace, and can offer numerous suggestions that will help us achieve our goal of all rounds completed in target time. We will be strictly enforcing the club s dress code. Members can find the dress code posted on our website and in the pro shop, and should assure that their guests are also aware. Note that there are still a number of outside golf outings on the calendar in May and June. The pro shop staff will do everything possible to assure members have the opportunity to play before and after the outings, but these events are important revenue generators for the club, and many of the folks who participate are prospective members. Please make sure that guests to our club feel welcome. There will be a shotgun start for members who plan to play on days that have outside outings scheduled (May 20th and 30th, June 6th and 20th) and before the annual pro-am (May 18th). Any golfers interested in participating in the pro-am should speak with Seth and the staff so that they can be paired with one of the pros. We look forward to seeing everyone on the mountain. Art Pursel and your EMCC Golf Committee
