The 2015 Activities and Events schedule is also provided within the newsletter. We look forward to welcoming all of you returning next season and to meeting those who are new to Apple Island. New View for Water & Electric Sites Our remodeled Water & Electric sites are now Lakeview Sites. They still have water & electric service only. Permitted RVs are: Class A, B, and C & 5th Wheels. Bathhouse Upgrades We were very pleased with the results of the remodeling of Winooski Bathhouse last season. So over the winter, Champlain and Lamoille Bathhouses have been similarly remodeled. Apple Island Resort now offers all showers and restrooms with new floors, marble walls, windows, sinks, solid stone counters, mirrors, and fixtures. Check them out when you return this season. Wristbands A wristband is required to be worn when using the amenities and participating in events. Wristbands are issued to registered guests upon check-in. Visitors receive a wristband when registering at the office and paying a fee, if applicable. Residents, please be sure to have your wristband with you at the resort as these are not re-issued each season. A red wristband permits the wearer to eat for free at the FREE BBQs. Visitors with other colored wristbands will be charged $5.00 for these meals.

3 H a p p e n i n g s a t t h e M a r i n a Dean Jennings will return to the resort as the Marina Manager this year. Dean is a retired US Navy Lieutenant Commander & US Coast Guard Auxiliary member. We value his experience and knowledge. Reservations for seasonal docks and moorings have been brisk this winter. If you haven t yet reserved your space, you may want to do so soon as spots are filling more quickly this year. Please contact the Marina Office at (802) or marina@appleislandresort.com if you wish to rent a dock or mooring for the season. Rates remain the same as We are also accepting reservations by phone for both boat rentals and transient docks for guests. ANNOUNCEMENT: Three newer 22 Cypress Cay Pontoon Boats with 60 HP motors have replaced last season s rental boat fleet. Each of the pontoon boats will hold up to 13 people. We will still have kayak, canoe, and pedal boat rentals. Instead of taking your daily walk or bicycling, rent a pedal boat and enjoy the lake while you are exercising. It costs less than $8.00 an hour. May 16 to May 22 is National Safe Boating Week A Boat Vermont Boating Safety Course has been scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings during Safe Boating Week (see full schedule below). The local Coast Guard Auxiliary flotilla is teaching a Suddenly in Command class Sunday afternoon, May 17, in the Community Center from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. This class is targeted mainly to secondary operators or passengers who may suddenly have to take control of a boat in an emergency. Also on Sunday, May 17, FREE Vessel Safety Checks will be available at the Apple Island Marina. To celebrate the week, the Marina is offering a 25% discount on pontoon boat rentals. To better serve our customers, Boat House hours are changing to 9:00am to 6:00pm. Boat rental hours are 9:30am - 5:30pm for full day and half day rentals are 9:00am - 1:00pm or 1:30-5:30pm. The State has moved Featherbed Lane further to the west. A guardrail has been placed along Route 2 where the previous entrance to Featherbed Lane was located. There are now separate drives accessing Apple Island Marina and the State s staging area and new launch. BOAT VERMONT BOATING SAFETY COURSES AT APPLE ISLAND RESORT Boating Safety Courses will again be held at the Apple Island Resort Community Center this season. Classes are coordinated by Dean with Vermont State Police and US Coast Guard Flotilla All courses are FREE. Each class will be 3 hours each night for 3 nights; a total of 9 hours. Classes run from 7:00pm until 10:00pm each night. 6 G o l f L i n k s PGA Head Professional Matt Engberg will be returning to Apple Island Golf this season. Matt is a 25 year member of the PGA of America and is an accomplished teacher of the game. Matt has a fun season planned for everyone. There are Fun Saturday Tournaments, additional Member Tournaments, golf schools, and Get Golf Ready lesson programs. Look for a new Food and Beverage line at the Golf Club this season. There will also be a wider selection of apparel to choose from; something for everyone. Seasonal Golf Members receive FREE golf instruction. Summer residents of the Resort receive a 10% discount at the club when they wear their red wristband. The discount is valid for membership fees. Monday is Junior Day at the course. 16 & under half price when playing with parent(s). NEW - Tuesday is Ladies Day. Ladies play all day for $ CHANGE - Wednesday is Senior Day. Age 65 & over play for half price. The Women s Golf Scramble is on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am beginning May 21. The Men s Golf Scramble is on Thursday mornings at 9:00 am beginning May 22.
