End of year Reports: Chairmans Report It has been another great season at KBLAC and I have enjoyed my experience as chairperson of this great club. We were lucky enough to only have to cancel two competition nights with one due to excessive heat and the other with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Our athlete numbers were slightly down for the season however our committee will try and market the local public schools to increase our sign on registrations for the following season. The representative season started with the Zone Championships at Glenbrook and with a week of torrential rain leading up to the carnival it looked like it was going to be delayed at the final hurdle, however it went ahead and was a great weekend where all our athletes performed outstandingly and the Glenbrook Little Athletics club should be commended for hosting a great carnival. The Western Ranges Regional Championships held at Parkes made for a very enjoyable weekend with the top performers of the weekend being Aiden Miller with four gold medals, and Brooke Keller and Caitlyn Ferrier with a swag of medals. The way all the athletes conducted themselves on and off the track was a credit to them. All their parents and grandparents should be congratulated for getting them out to Parkes and more importantly showing them The Dish. State championships were held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre at Homebush and the club was well represented with 39 athletes competing. The best performers were Brooke Keller with two gold medals (Long Jump and Triple Jump), Lianna Davidson one gold medal (and State Record Javelin), Toby Camilleri one gold medal (Discus), Tully Murphy silver medal (triple jump), Caitlyn Ferrier a silver medal in the 400mtr and Caleb Fairweather a bronze medal in the 80 metre hurdles. Big congratulations to all that performed, many coming away with personal bests. I personally would like to thank club coach Marilyn Pearson and her helpers Laurie Fairweather, Milton James and Suzy Murphy for all their tireless effort in training the athletes to better themselves. A big thank you to Belinda James and Val Cheyne for their efforts in the canteen and all those parents who have assisted in the canteen and on the barbecue. To all the Senior athletes, thank you for your assistance in running the Tiny tots program and helping to develop our future champions. Club captains Tahlia Blanch and Johnathon Blunden also a big thank you, your leadership to the younger members of the club has been outstanding. To each and every one of the age managers and parent helpers thank you, without your efforts Friday night competition would not be possible.

To all fellow committee members thank you for your tireless efforts throughout the season, it is greatly appreciated. A special mention to Susan Ferrier, I applaud you for all that you do behind the scenes to enable this club to function the way it does. Darron Blanch Chairperson Secretary s Report The season was my first in the role of Secretary, and we have had a very busy but successful season. I applaud my fellow Committee members - their hard work and willingness to take on extra roles, as well as running our competition nights makes it a pleasure to work together. The extra effort needed to organise our athletes and their families to travel to our Zone and Region Championships shows with our excellent Team Spirit and athlete performances. Many of our Committee members are also Officials, I think that shows their commitment to the Sport. Our Meetings are held on the 3 rd Monday of each month at McMahons Park Hall and were well attended throughout the season. Our Presentation Night was a great celebration of all our athlete s hard work and success, I am looking forward to the 2015/16 Season. Suzy Murphy Secretary Treasurer s Report Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics continues to operate with a positive balance sheet. We continue to operate with a significant Term deposit investment and have ended the season with funds in both our general operating and canteen accounts. We were successful in acquiring a $ Innovation and Technology Award from the Annual Conference this year provided by IMG Sports Technology Group. Our Athlete Registrations were strong enough to provide sufficient operating capital for the season coupled with excellent financial management and responsibility for the clubs funds the year ended with surplus funds for start up of the 2015/2016 season while continuing to support and provide an amazing athletic experience to all our Athletes. Last year KBLAC hosted the State Cross Country and Road Walks and although the funds raised from this were not as significant as we anticipated we have learnt a lot as a club to hopefully make this event more of a successful revenue raiser for us next year.

As in most years our Canteen was a revenue raiser for the club providing a great service on Friday nights and additional funds for the Club. This year, just as in others, takings varied in the canteen because of weather and holiday periods and its effect on Friday night attendance. This year we were able to purchase a new set of High Jump Mats for all the athletes to enjoy on club nights making High Jumps safer and fun to compete in for all the athletes. We have also purchased some varied other sporting equipment to add to and replace our existing stocks. Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics Centre is in a strong position leading into 2015/2016 season. Alison Dunning Treasurer Registrar s Report 220 Athletes registered with Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics Centre this season, seven down on the number last season. KB athletes have been outstanding throughout the season competing at several State and National Championships. Caitlyn Ferrier and Shayne Campbell were our most successful athletes winning their very first Australian Junior medals. Both won Bronze in their respective events. Tully Murphy also deserves a special mention after jumping a 70cm PB in his Triple jump to place an excellent 6th. Renee Hardy also had a top 8 finish with a PB competing up an age group in her 3000m walk. Our ex KB athletes also had another busy and successful season with Ian Dewhurst representing Australia at his first Commonwealth Games in the 400m hurdles and placing an excellent 12 th overall (3 rd in his heat and needing 2 nd place to make final). At the Australian Open Championships both Sara and her twin Kirsty were amongst the medals with Silver in 400m hurdles and 10,000m walk respectively. Jo Dawson and Jack Bangel also represented NSW at this event. Our off season winter training commences on Monday 4 th May and our first major Little A s competition will be the State Little A s Cross Country and Road Walks being hosted by us in July at Scheyville. Again my heartfelt thanks to all who continue to assist at training regularly especially Laurie Fairweather, Suzy Murphy and Milton James. Canteen Co-Ordinator s Report Computer Operator s Report It s hard to believe another athletics season has come and gone already, but what a successful season it has been. As the Computer Operator, it s been wonderful to see our athletes improving from week to week and achieving PB s and records. We continue to use the Results HQ system which gives our athletes instant online access to their results as soon as they are entered, and allows them to review their results for the whole season and monitor their progress. A huge thank you must go to all of the hardworking members of our committee who have worked tirelessly to make the season the success that it was. Special thanks to our fantastic coach Maz who devotes endless hours to developing training sessions and programs for our diverse group of talented athletes, and plays a huge part in their successes. We are indebted to Maz for all that she does for our athletes, and also to Laurie who is always there to put the kids through their paces at training - rain, hail or shine. Thanks also to Darron Blanch and Suzy Murphy who have both done an exceptional job in their first year as Chairman and Secretary respectively, and have lead a fantastic team who have been a pleasure to work with. I d like to also say a big thank you to all of the parents who have helped out throughout the season in any capacity. Without the parents our Friday nights would not run, so thank you to those who do their bit, whether it be helping at their child s age group with measuring, raking, recording, etc, assisting at the BBQ or canteen, working on the start line, finish line or recording desk, or filling an Age Manager role. Your contributions are all valued and we could not operate without you. It was also great to see so many people step up to do multiple timeslots to cover our huge volunteer workload at the Zone Carnival, in addition to Regional and State, and it is this team spirit which makes our club so great.

Publicity Report After picking up the Publicity position part-way through the season, I d like to thank all those who assisted me in filling the position. A big thank you to David Donnelly for providing me with the necessary newsletter templates to work from, and assisting by loading the finished products on to the website. Thanks also to Marilyn for providing results and reports for inclusion in the newsletters, and thank you to our athletes for providing us with such great results to report on. In addition to providing necessary information to our families, I have tried to include lots of photos in the newsletters to provide recognition to the wonderful athletes that represent our club.

We have continued to use not only the newsletters, but also the facebook page as an important means of communicating information to our members, and this has been especially useful on occasions of extreme or inclement weather to get updates out quickly and regularly. Thank you to all those who have contributed to the facebook page with updates and photos, and who have used the page responsibly for the purpose for which it was intended. Thank you to everyone for your patience as I learned the position, and we look forward to having someone new come on board to fill the position in the season ahead. Susan Ferrier Publicity Officer Groundsman s Report Maintaining and marking of the grounds started in August 2014 and carried on through till the end of the season. The main circular track was marked to the usual 300m inside lane with 2 x 50m straights and 2 x 180⁰ bends of various radiuses. This track included 8 racing lanes. The circular track was marked with the standard 200m & 400m starts, as well as various 200m hurdle and pack start marks. The sprint track was marked to the standard 100m length with the addition of 6 lanes to make 14. The extra lanes allowed us to continue running races while the hurdle heights were being adjusted therefore speeding up the night. In addition there were line marks for the 50m, 70m, 100m & various sprint hurdle distances. The 2 Javelin fields were marked along with the 4 Shot Put & 2 Discus fields. The 5 jumping pits were maintained throughout the season. The main triple jump pit had its lines repainted; the 4 long jump pits were re-marked prior to the start of the season. The ground held up pretty well during the season considering the amount of wet weather we had throughout the summer. I would like to thank all Committee members, Age managers, and competition night helpers for their tireless & thankless hard work throughout the season. To our wonderful & dedicated club coach Marilyn, thanks for putting your time & knowledge into coaching our fantastic and talented children. To Darron our club Chairman, thanks for the time & dedication you put into our club over the past season, it was great being part of the team. Last but no way least, thanks to all the kids. Without you & your determination, we wouldn t have a great and competitive athletics club. Go KBLAC Laurie Fairweather Groundsman

Uniform Report Uniform sales went smoothly this season and I was able to enjoy most of it on the finish line timekeeping. The kids look great in their red and green uniforms when competing. As we entered Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre for the State Championships in March a ticket collector commented on Julia's jacket, saying she'd seen a lot from our club - it must be a big club. It was great to think that our kids must be happy in their jackets to all be wearing them. Well done to all the KBLAC kids for their great work and commitment to improving on their personal best performances. Thank you to everyone who contributes to a positive Athletics Club for our kids. Spreadsheets detailing uniform items sold and state gear distributed this season have been submitted. Thank you.
