3 TONIGHT'S OPPONENT SEATTLE STORM (2-2) - Phoenix evened up the series, 2-2, with an win over Seattle on Sunday. Brittney Griner scored a playoff career-high 29 points and tied her playoff career high in rebounds (12). DeWanna Bonner added 27 points in the win, as she's scored 20+ points in all six of the Mercury's Playoff games (has recorded nine consecutive 20+ point games including final three games of regular season). - The Mercury kept themselves in the series with an win in Game 4 on 8/31. DeWanna Bonner posted her fourth double-double of the WNBA Playoffs with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Yvonne Turner, who earned her first start of the 2018 Playoffs scored a careerhigh 19 points and recroded playoff career highs in rebounds (7), assists (6) and steals (3) - Despeite a fourth quarter serge by Phoenix in Game 2 on 8/28, the Mercury fell to Seattle, Diana Taurasi finished with game highs in points (28) and assists (9). 10 Sandy Brondello FIFTH SEASON AS HEAD COACH OF PHOENIX HEAD COACH Veteran WNBA player, coach and former Australian Olympian Sandy Brondello (braun-dell-oh) was named the ninth head coach in franchise history on November 15, Brondello also serves as the team s vice president of player personnel. On October 13, 2016, the Mercury signed Brondello to a multi-year contract extension. Known for her intense preparation for each opponent, Brondello has compiled an overall regular season record of in her fifth season with the Mercury, ranking her as the all-time leader in wins as a Mercury coach. Additionally, Brondello has compiled a postseason record at the helm of the Mercury, ranking her as the winningest coach in franchise history in the postseason. She was named the 2014 WNBA Coach of the Year marking the first time a Mercury coach picked up the honor. She led the team to a WNBA regular season-record 29 wins and capped the season with a WNBA Championship. An 13-year veteran of the WNBA coaching ranks, Brondello has been affiliated with the league for 19 of the league s 22 seasons, including her time as a player.
