HALFWAY THROUGH: This has been a memorable and record-setting first half of the season for the Hornets check out the bullet points below to see a few of the many records that were set during the first 41 games of the season. CP AND BOBBY MAKE HISTORY: Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson were perfect, 1/11 vs. MIA CP3 hit all seven of his field goals for 16 points, while B Jax hit all nine of his field goals for 25 points it was the first time two teammates combined for 40+ points on perfect shooting since Gary Payton and Vincent Askew did it for SEA on 1/4/95 (42 points). BENCH, WE HAD A PROBLEM: The Hornets bench had been on fire prior to the 1/30 vs. GSW loss in the those previous nine games, the bench was averaging 36.3 points on 53 percent shooting ( FG), including a 48 percent clip from long distance ( PT FG), outscoring the opponent s bench in seven of the nine games on the flip side, the Hornets bench, albeit injury-riddled, was scored just nine points on 1/30. THE MOST UNDERRATED PLAYER IN THE NBA? David West has been quietly having his best season as a pro, improving his rebounding and blocks numbers, while still being a consistent scorer...overall, his numbers rival any power forward in the NBA, but yet he still flies under the radar when people talk about the best power forwards in the NBA...that s ok with David, he just goes out and plays basketball and over the past nine games he has played in, he has been playing very well...he is averaging 21.6 points on 50 percent shooting and 9.3 rebounds over the last nine in addition, he has scored 20+ points in 12 of the last 17.

6 PLAYING ABOVE THE RIM: Tyson Chandler has long been a beast on the boards, but this season his offensive game is steadily improving over the last eight games TC has collected six double-doubles and is averaging 12.0 points on 65 percent shooting (42-65 FG) and 14.4 rebounds. MO PLAYING BETTER EQUALS MO WINS: Morris Peterson is an important part of the Hornets offense and when he is hitting his shots, the Hornets have won when Mo Pete scores 10+ points, the Hornets are an impressive 15-1 (4-0 when he scores 20+). WILD, WILD WEST: David West has been the model of consistency for the Hornets this season, scoring in double figures in 42 of the 44 games (12/5 vs. DET, 12/14 at DAL) in addition to his scoring, West has been rebounding the ball very well overall, D West has had 10 games of 13+ rebounds during the entire season, West had five games of 13+ rebounds West has had nine games of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds, last season he had eight. A SEASON FOR THE AGES: Chris Paul is having a great season thus far, but as ESPN.com s John Hollinger points out, it may be one for the ages check out the chart below that measures CP s PER (Player Efficiency Rating) against other players, 6-3 or shorter of the players 6-3 or shorter who have been in the league since the NBA began tracking individual turnovers in , none has posted a PER that tops Paul's so far this season only one had cleared 26 (Allen Iverson two years ago), and only three had cleared 24. Top PER seasons by players 6-3 or shorter since Player Year PER Chris Paul Allen Iverson Terrell Brandon Gilbert Arenas John Stockton Kevin Johnson Allen Iverson Steve Nash WE WELCOME OT: If the Hornets go to overtime, then that is a good thing last season, they were an NBA-best 7-0 in OT dating back to the season, the Hornets have now won their last 12 games in a row their last OT loss was 12/9/05 at POR.
