Joseph owns a career-record of , and she is just the second head coach in the Yellow Jacket history to hit 200 career wins. Her 61 percent career winning percentage is the highest in Georgia Tech history. Currently, Joseph s 213 career wins puts her 11 wins away from becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history. Joseph has seven 20-win seasons and a matching seven NCAA tournament appearances, including six-straight from 2007 through Under Joseph s direction, 17 Yellow Jackets have garnered All-ACC accolades. Two Jackets have been named All-ACC First Team members since Joseph became the head coach in Six freshmen have been named to the All-ACC Freshman Team, including one a year from 2011 to Tyaunna Marshall was named an AP honorable mention All-American in both 2013 and Joseph has coached six Jackets that were selected in the WNBA Draft. SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS The 24/rv Georgia Bulldogs enter into the contest with a 3-0 record after defeating Morgan State, TCU and Ohio State. The Bulldogs are led on offense by junior Tiaria Griffi n who is averaging 15.7 points per game. Griffi n led the scoring effort at Ohio State, scoring 16 points for her third-straight double fi gure effort. Junior Shacobia Barbee is the Bulldogs top-rebounder, averaging 8.7 boards per game and 10.7 points per game. Georgia Tech also faced Morgan State this nonconference season, defeating the Bears, WHITESIDE S 20,000 SHOTS This offseason, Whiteside made it a goal to put up 20,000 shots and dial into her training before her junior season and her extra hard work has paid off. The junior recorded her second career double-double against Kennesaw State, tying her career-high 11 rebounds and scoring 14 points. In the contest prior to Kennesaw State against Morgan State, Whiteside led the Jackets in scoring for the sixth time in her career with a career-high 26 points. Whiteside is averaging 16.3 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game, which are both rank second on the Jackets. Whiteside s 16.3 ppg ties her for 12th in the ACC. CONSISTENCY IS KEY There has been some reoccurring themes throughout the Yellow Jackets fi rst three victories. One Yellow Jacket has had a double-double in each game, with junior Roddreka Rogers recording two against Loyola and Morgan State and junior Aaliyah Whiteside tallying one against Kennesaw State. In all three wins, Georgia Tech has had double-fi gure margin of victories, with its largest being 35 in a win at Loyola Chicago. Four different Jackets have led the Jackets in scoring in three games. Sophomores Kaela Davis and Katarina Vuckovic each scored a team-high 17 points at Loyola Chicago while Davis led Tech against Kennesaw State with 15 points. Whiteside was the top scorer against Morgan State. Three Yellow Jackets have scored in double fi gures in all three games - Davis, senior Sydney Wallace and freshman Zaire O Neil. NEVER DOWN Georgia Tech has only trailed for 4:12 this season. The only time the Yellow Jackets were behind was to Kennesaw State, with their largest defi cit coming at fi ve points. DOUBLE-DOUBLES FOR ROGERS Junior Roddreka Rogers opened up the season with back-to-back double-doubles, scoring 10 points and pulling down a team-high 13 rebounds at Loyola and tying her career-high 17 points and grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds vs. Morgan State. The double-doubles were the sixth and seventh of her career. When asked about her goals in the beginning of the season, Rogers stated that she wanted to average a double-double as a junior. RAINING THREE S In the opening game at Loyola Chicago, Georgia Tech made 11 3-point shots which ranks third in the Georgia Tech record books for 3-pointers made in a game. The following game, the Jackets made nine against Morgan State. Georgia Tech is tied for the ACC lead in 3-pointers made per game with an average of 8.7. The Yellow Jackets had four players make at least two 3-point shots against Loyola and three players that made at least two from behind the arc against Morgan State. Senior Sydney Wallace is tied for second in the ACC with pointers made per game Wallaces 150 made 3-pointers ranks sixth in Georgia Tech history while sophomore Kaela Davis 90 made 3-pointers checks in at 10th. BOARD ROOM The Yellow Jackets have continued their dominance in rebounding against Kennesaw State, outrebounding the Owls, Tech has a rebounding margin this season. Rogers leads the way with a 12.5 rpg average. She ranks third in the ACC and is tied for second in defensive rebounds with 8.0 rebounds per game. APPROACHING MILESTONES Joseph enters her 12th season at the helm of the Yellow Jackets with a career record of Joseph is eight wins away from becoming the all-time winningest coach in Georgia Tech history. Former coach Agnus Berenato is currently the alltime winningest coach with a record of in 15 seasons. Georgia Tech has 591 program wins, putting them nine wins away from reaching the 600 win milestone. ON THE WAY TO 1,000 Two Yellow Jackets are closing in on 1,000 career points. Senior Sydney Wallace has 871 career points putting her 129 points shy from becoming the 27th Yellow Jacket to achieve the feat. Sophomore Kaela Davis has 648 career points, which makes her 352 points away from 1,000. Davis has played in 35 career games. The record for the fastest player to reach 1,000 points is 55 games. PRESEASON ALL-ACC Sophomore guard Kaela Davis was selected to the Preseason All-ACC Team by both the Blue Ribbon Panel and the ACC head coaches. Davis was a member of the 2014 All-ACC Second Team and the 2014 All-ACC Freshman Team. Davis set the single season scoring record for a freshman in Georgia Tech history with 594 points last season, which ranks third on GT s all-time list for points in a single season. Her 594 points also set the ACC freshman scoring record. Davis led all ACC rookies last season with 18.6 points per game and was honored as the ACC Rookie of the Week four times. Garner played for Trenton Catholic Academy, breaking her school s record for most blocks in a season and playing a critical part in Trenton Catholic s run to the Non-Public B Championship in Tilford graduated as the all-time leading scorer for both girls and boys at Woodlands High School and was named the MVP and the Journal News Player of the Year in Peresson won a bronze medal this past summer during the 2014 U20 European Championship with the Italian national team and won the Italian U19 Championships in 2013 with Reyer Venezia. Avram competed this summer at the 2014 U20 Division B Championship with her home country of Romania and placed second in the national championship with Brasov U23 team. TECH SIGNS TOP-14 RECRUITING CLASS Georgia Tech women s basketball head coach MaChelle Joseph announced that Martine Fortune, Dejoria Howard and Ciani Cryor have all signed National Letters of Intent to join the Yellow Jacket program beginning in the season. The trio gives Joseph and her staff a top-20 recruiting class for the fi fth-straight season. Blue Star Basketball ranks Georgia Tech s recruiting class the #14 recruiting class in the nation. The All Star Girls Report tabbed the class as the 25th best while Prospect s Nation ranked it at #26 in the country. Fortune has been ranked as one of the top-60 recruits in the 2015 recruiting class by the All Star Girls Report, #56, and BlueStar Basketball, #59. For the Shipley School, Fortune started at center and played in all 27 games in As a junior, she averaged 8.6 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game and 2.3 blocks per game.
