1 April 2017 Presidents Report Since our previous newsletter we have had ASHS Members participate in our last branch high point show, the ASHS Nationals, the SA State Futurity & Maturity Show and the RAHS Autumn Breed show. These events along with the various other equine competitions available have made the end of the show season a busy one. Congratulations to all SA members who took the long drive to the ASHS National Show in Tamworth, it was great to see you fly the SA flag! Well done to all members who competed at the Royal Autumn Breed Show, our ASH ring certainly has better numbers than some of the other breeds and all entries looked a picture and represented our breed beautifully. SE of SA Branch member Ellie Edwards represented SA at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in the ASHS Junior Judging event and did a great job judging. Also well done to SACB member Jack Duffield for competing recently in The Man from Snowy River Challenge and your success at challenge events being runner up in the Tri Challenge to Katie Stock. Winter coats are now starting to show through and as the cool nights and a bit of rain are now upon us, we look forward to a winter break for both horses and riders. Our SA Central Branch Annual General Meeting and Annual High Point Trophy presentation will soon be held on 18 th June. Those members that are interested in putting back a bit of time to the ASHS in the SACB Committee and helping out with events during the coming year no matter what time you can spare this will be greatly appreciated. 2 SACB High Point Show Season SA Central Branch Members are advised that from the first High Point Award Show in September 2016 you can start to count your placings and points for the coming show season toward the branch High Point Award. Points are counted from official High Point Award shows & challenges only. Rules and information on each category for the SACB High Point awards can be found on the SACB website here: SACB High Point awards are presented annually at the AGM, so it is up to SACB members to keep a track of their placings, then submit their completed nomination at the end of May Those members that currently have a Perpetual High Point Trophy, please return to Felicity Green before the end of May, so that we have time to get the engraved with this seasons winners before the AGM on June 18 th. Thank you. Results of F & M Feedback Thank you to those members that provided feedback from the F & M show at Murray Bridge. Your comments have been noted and the committee are pleased and thank you for taking the time to thank us and the great sponsors. SAMC State High Point reminder The year SA State Management Council High Point booklets should be returned to Cherie Jolly once you have finished competing this season. Expression of Interest in ASH Flag Ride The SACB and for that matter any ASHS member in SA who would be interested to learn the ASH Flag Ride, please contact Felicity Green to register. Some members may have seen Bruce Moxey and his team display this as an opening to the ASHS National Show this year. It was great to watch and is something else that we can offer to members as an alternative to do. This may open up opportunities for us to do displays and the like in future and if nothing else will be a bit of fun and different to the shows, challenges and campdrafts that we have. Bruce Moxey has offered to come to SA to conduct a training weekend, but we need to see if members want to have a crack at this. So let s hear from you..
