1 MIDSTREAM COLLEGE PRIMARY SCHOOL / PRIMÊ RE SKOOL NEWSLETTER 08/ M AR CH 2016 Dear Parents THOUGHT FOR THE DAY A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination. (Nelson Mandela) IN THE NEWSLETTER Important dates S6 for parents Midstream College High School applications (2017) Weekend admission cards Swimming Netball Grade 1 eye tests Cricket clothing orders Equestrian news Secondhand shop Cubs Scouts Sports results Lost and found IMPORTANT DATES FROM THE OFFICE We would like to share the successes of our athletes at the Gauteng championships. I would also like to single out four of our athletes, namely Awande Malinga, Tiaan Barkhuizen, Diba Mbatsha and Veronique Rossouw who are through to the SA championships. Congratulations, we are so proud of your achievement. Good luck with the next step to success. Wow, what an amazing experience to be part of our swimmer s success at Hillcrest on Tuesday where they narrowly came second in the A-league gala. There was only a 14 point difference between Midstream and the first place! We are so proud of Matthew Randle who was the recipient of the Victor Ludorum of the gala. All of our swimmers showed perseverance and determination in every race. It was truly a privilege to share the nail-biting finish of the gala. Wow, boys and girls, I am so proud of you all. I want to share John Maxwell s wise words about Success and Significance: I believe significance comes when you add value to others and you can t have true success without significance. Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to your maximum potential and sowing seeds that benefit others. Success is indeed a journey, but if you stop at adding value to yourself, you miss the reward of significance. Success is usually the steppingstone to significance. When you love what you do and feel that it is making a difference in the lives of others, you have the right combination.
