2 EVENT SUMMARY The Whitecourt Trailblazers are proud to present one of the most exciting snowmobile events of the year. The 2015 World Snowmobile Invasion will bring the national snowmobile event to Whitecourt, Alberta. 3 days of guided snowmobile rides on groomed trails Opportunity to participate in the world record setting Snowmobile Parade that will include more than 800 snowmobiles A unique snowmobile rally experience that will provide the rider the opportunity to visit checkpoints that represent the various snowmobiling nations from around the world The World Snowmobile Showcase will provide a participant an opportunity to see entertainment from the snowmobiling nations while enjoying food and refreshments from those countries Ice carving demonstration, opportunity for children and their families to participate in creating iced sculptures 2 Snowmobile Freestyle events feature Winter X riders setting new world record tricks 2

3 SNOWMOBILE NATIONS CANADA There are 735 Snowmobile clubs in Canada, with 111,320 kms of trails. There were 666,738 sleds registered in In Canada, we have the C.C.S.O. (Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations) which is a volunteer led, not-for profit organization that supports our members and the national and international level. There are 12 provincial and territorial associations. U.S.A. There are 27 snowbelt states in the U.S.A. There were approximately 1.65 million registered snowmobiles registered in the U.S.A. last year. EUROPE + SCANDINAVIAN COUNTRIES Snowmobiling in Northern Europe is very popular and growing. In there were 30,389 new snowmobiles sold in the countries of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. NORWAY SWEDEN FINLAND JAPAN Due to environmental laws, it is illegal to ride your snowmobile for recreational purposes, other than for transportation in the far north. Recreational snowmobiling occurs on the divide of Sweden, Finland & Norway There are over 300 snowmobile clubs in Sweden. Like North America, they participate in fund raising, trail development and shows Finland has thousands of kilometers of snowmobile trails, services, safaris & guided services exist. Finland has a very long snowmobile season Japan has rental companies and snowmobilers that are eager to have fun. 4 ABOUT WHITECOURT In 2006, Whitecourt was named the official Snowmobile capital of Alberta by the Government of Canada. Come experience unlimited miles of groomed and powdered trails through forested lands, creeks, rivers and cut lines. Whitecourt and the surrounding area have hundreds of kilometers of designated trails for off highway vehicle use. For those more adventurous, we challenge you to ride the 350 kilometer Golden Triangle Snowmobile Trail you are assured an exhilarating ride! Whitecourt is one of the few communities that permits residents to operate off highway vehicles within town. There are tens of kilometres of designated off highway vehicle trails that travel throughout the community and lead to an extensive trail system beyond Town limits. 5 WHITECOURT TRAILBLAZERS The Whitecourt Trailblazers Snowmobile Club is a not-forprofit group registered under the Societies Act in Alberta founded in The Club will be celebrating its 35th Anniversary in As one of the largest snowmobile Clubs in Alberta, the Trailblazers are made up of a group of 550 members who donate their time to promote the sport of organized snowmobiling in Alberta. Whitecourt is the official Snowmobile Capital of Alberta. The Trailblazers Club currently maintains 465 kms of trail system in the Whitecourt area, including portions of the Trans-Canada Trail System and the Golden Triangle Trail System. The Club works closely with local municipal governments, the local Chamber of Commerce and business on an ongoing basis to help promote the area as a winter tourism destination. Each year the Club hosts a Snowmobile Rally to promote the sport and to encourage Albertans to get outside and enjoy the wonders of winter. After the tour, a get together will be held to celebrate the world record accomplishment. GOLDEN TRIANGLE & SILVER SUMMIT GUIDED RIDE Expected Attendance: Riders each day The Golden Triangle Trail connects the communities of Whitecourt, Fox Creek and Swan Hills. The guided ride will take place over two days. The following day join us on a guided tour to Silver Summit. SNOWMOBILE FREESTYLE EVENTS & BEER FESTS Expected Attendance: 8,000-10,000 Spectators per show Join us as the X-Games Snowmobile Riders entertain us with their spectacular stunting skills and showmanship on snowmobiles. Attempts will be made to break a world record. This event will be sure to WOW spectators. A beer fest, with a country band, will entertain you into the wee hours. Park & Ride and bus service will be available from Whitecourt. SNOWMOBILE RALLY Expected Attendance: Riders per day Enjoy a beautiful scenic ride on our award winning groomed trail system. Riders will stop at various checkpoints along the trail and visit exhibits and win prizes while enjoying authentic snacks from snowmobile nations around the world. A unique snowmobiling cultural experience for everyone! WORLD SNOWMOBILE SHOWCASE Expected Attendance: 1200 Person facility capacity An evening of food and refreshments from snowmobile nations across the globe. Enjoy entertainment and live music from different regions around the snowmobiling world. 6

7 ABOUT SNOWMOBILING Snowmobiling is great exercise that brings people outdoors to interact with nature and each other. It is an invigorating sport and is great for stress release and mental health. Snowmobiling is a great family sport. Historically individuals who snowmobile at a young age continue in the sport throughout their lives. In 2012, there were 593,248 registered snowmobiles in Canada and in the USA there were 1.4 million registered snowmobiles. Over 100,000 full time jobs are generated by the snowmobile industry in North America. Those jobs are involved in manufacturing, dealership and tourism related business. SNOWMOBILE STATS AVG. 8 EVENT EXPOSURE ON TV SNOWMOBILER TV A weekly 30 minute show that airs on several TV stations. The event will be featured on various 2015/2016 episodes as well as SnowGoer Canada Magazine and some affiliated websites of the TV station. SNOWTRAX TELEVISION SnowTrax Television is a magazine style program that is focused on the world of snowmobiling. Airing episodes from January to April, SnowTrax has established itself as a being the most watched snowmobile television series in North America. Affiliated with national broadcasters such as TSN in Canada VERSUS in the United States, SnowTrax Television effectively reaches over 72 million national households with 24 million of those households being located in the North American snow belt. The event will be featured on several episodes of SnowTrax Television. ON RADIO THE RIG RADIO 96.7FM The RIG is part of the Northwest division of Newcap Radio and it effectively covers the Highway 32 area of central Alberta. It delivers advertising strength in great coverage for your message as far south as Drayton Valley, as far north to Fox Creek and reaches listeners in Spruce Grove to the east and Edson to the west. XM105FM RADIO XM105FM serves a large dynamic, young and growing audience with a 42,000 watt transmitter covering much of the Woodlands, Yellowhead and Greenview regions of Northwest Alberta.
