The NCAA selected UW to host the NCAA Regionals for the second-straight year and they then swept three straight games versus Portland State and BYU. They were the first of 16 teams to clinch a spot in the Super Regionals and now face the winner of the Columbia Regional, the University of Missouri Tigers. This is the second-consecutive year Missouri has hosted Super Regionals, but it will be Washington's first time playing at this field. The two teams will play a best-of-three series at Missouri's home field, University Field, in Columbia, Mo., with the winner advancing to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City beginning the first week of June. All games will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU with Game 1 on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT. Please note, however, that certain lots are unavailable during business hours on Thursday and Friday, and the two parking lots adjacent to University Field/University Hall will be held for pass holders and disabled vehicles only. Please consult the link to the PDF parking map below for detailed information. All other parking lots surrounding University Field are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional parking is located below on the corner of Carrie Francke Drive and Research Drive. A shuttle cart will transport you from the lower lot to the University Field. Anyone parking in a designated "No Parking" area could have their vehicle towed at the owner's expense. Parking restrictions may be made during a Big 12 or NCAA event. To qualify for disabled parking, you must display a valid state disabled parking permit. Disabled parking is first-come, firstserve basis. The holder of the permit must be in the vehicle upon entry. Disabled parking is located on both the east and west entrances to The Audrey J. Walton Stadium/University Field. ABOUT THE HUSKIES Washington finished tied for sixth in the Pac-10 with a 9-12 record and was one of seven of the eight Pac-10 teams to make the tournament and one of six league schools to advance to Super Regionals, receiving an at-large bid. UW is No. 15 in the NFCA poll and No. 14 in the ESPN.com/USA Today poll but received the No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies are overall and 15-7 at home this season after hosting their second-straight NCAA Regional. In it's 19-year history, the Huskies have made the tournament 18 times. The Huskies have been to 10 WCWS including the last two years and of course winning the 2009 National Championship. Last year the Huskies swept through the Regional, defeating North Carolina (twice) and North Dakota State. UW also hosted its first Super Regional in 2010, taking the best-of-three series vs. Oklahoma. Head coach Heather Tarr has an impressive postseason record. UW is led by Kimi Pohlman. The junior centerfielder is batting.435 with 56 runs, 77 hits, 95 total bases and is on the base paths. Fellow junior Niki Williams leads the team with 14 home runs, 56 RBI and 40 walks. Senior Jenn Salling has a team-high 16 doubles. Freshman Kaitlin Inglesbly has been solid for UW at the plate and in the circle. She is second on the team in batting average, hitting.427 with a.791 slugging percentage. In the circle, she has a 2.26 ERA, 25-8 record and 158 strikeouts in innings. SCOUTING MISSOURI Missouri enters Super Regionals with a 50-8 overall record and a 27-2 record at home. Led by head coach Ehren Earleywine, the Big 12 Coach of the Year, Missouri is making its fourth-straight appearance in the Super Regionals. They also advanced to the WCWS last season, going 0-2, falling to Hawai'i and Florida. They are 0-1 this season against the Pac-10, losing to Cal, 1-0, on Feb. 20 in San Diego. They also had a 24-game winning streak from Feb. 26-March 30, as North Texas broke the streak. Senior Megan Christopher was co-defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12. Senior Rhea Taylor is the school record holder for career hits and runs. The Huskies are 1-2 against Big 12 teams this season, defeating Texas A&M and fell to Texas and Oklahoma. UW is 12-7 on the road this season and was the last undefeated team in the country at Tarr is 7-5 in Super Regionals in her first six years at UW and has led the Huskies to six Super Regionals in her seven years. The two teams were supposed to play on week two of the season in San Diego but got rained out. The Huskies are 5-1 all-time against Missouri, all in neutral sites and have never met in the post-season. The last meeting was a 6-0 UW victory on Feb. 22, 2008 in the Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. UW won two-of-three games against the Tigers in 2007 as a part of the Big 12/Pac-10 Face-Off in Tempe, Ariz. In 2001, UW won a 3-2 game in Utah and in 1999, the first-ever meeting, got a 2-0 shutout. HUSKIES WIN SIXTH REGIONAL TOURNAMENT IN SEVEN YEARS The Huskies swept all three games in the Seattle Regional, with a 6-2 win over Portland State on May 19 and wins over BYU on May 20 and 21 (4-1 and 7-5, respectively). Kaitlin Inglesby was named tournament MVP and Jenn Salling, Maggie Wagner, and Niki Williams were named to the Seattle Regional NCAA Tournament Team. Also named to the tournament team were Auburn's Kelsey Cartwright and BYU's Caschjen Atagi and Paige Affleck. A total of 258 players from 126 different institutions comprise this season's regional teams, including first and second teams for each region. The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/ NFCA All-America first, second or third teams. The Huskies were just one of two teams in their respective region to get five student-athletes on the first-team. Alabama also do so in the South Region. This is the second-straight year that UW has put five players on the first-team. Senior Jenn Salling was the first-team shortstop, juniors Kimi Pohlman and Taylor Smith were two of the three outfielders selected, freshman Kaitlin Inglesby was named the utility/pitcher and junior Niki Williams was the utility/ non-pitcher. SEVEN HUSKIES EARN ALL-PAC-10 HONORS In a vote of the leagues eight head coaches, the Washington Huskies had seven student-athlete's named to various All-Pac-10 teams Commissioner Larry Scott announced Wednesday. Shortstop Jenn Salling won her first Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year honor and the first such honor ever given to a Husky. Kimi Pohlman and Niki Williams also earned first-team honors while Kaitin Inglesby was named to the second-team, respectively. Earning Honorable Mention for the Huskies were junior Taylor Smith and senior Morgan Stuart. STUART NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT Morgan Stuart was named to the Capital One Academic All-American District VIII team selected by CoSIDA on May 5. Stuart is the eighth Husky to earn the honor and the first since Ashlyn Watson was honored in She is one of four Pac-10 student-athlete s honored and one of four infielders on the team. The Husky third baseman carries a 3.50 GPA in psychology/sociology. She is a two-time First-Team Academic All-Pac-10 selection, an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and was awarded the UW s Provost Academic Excellence Award last season. HUSKIES RALLY TO TAKE FINAL PAC-10 SERIES Washington really needed some momentum going into the NCAA Tournament and that's what they got in the final game at Oregon State to end Pac-10 play. UW won the first game 6-1 and fell 4-3 in game two. In the final game, the Huskies were down 4-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning when junior Niki Williams hit a three-rbi triple and the Huskies won 5-4. JERSEY AUCTION A HUGE SUCCESS On Senior Day the Huskies wore pink jerseys that were auctioned off before the game. The team raised over $2,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The team and Make-A-Wish would like to thank everyone for their contributions to a great cause. THANKS FOR VOTING FOR JENN Jenn Salling was one of 10 finalists for the Lowe s Senior CLASS Award in softball this year and for the past two months fans logged on daily to vote for her. She was named one of 30 candidates for the award in February 2011 and then advanced to the fan voting. Fan voting counts for 1/3 of the total vote and thanks to the Husky Nation she was second in fan voting. The winner will be announced on June 3 at the WCWS. SALLING AND WILLIAMS WERE TOP 25 FINALISTS FOR POY The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America announced the Top 25 Finalists for the 2011 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. After being named to the Top 50 Watch List at the beginning of the season, Jenn Salling and Niki Williams advanced to the next round. On May 11 the Top 10 finalists were announced and unfortunately no Huskies were on the list. Former Husky Danielle Lawrie won the award the past two seasons. No. 1 ASU SWEEPS HUSKIES The final regular season series at Husky Softball Stadium didn't go quite as the Huskies planned as No. 1 ASU swept UW in the three-game series. Game one was tied 4-4 on Friday before being suspended due to rain. Once the game continued on Saturday ASU scored twice in the fifth for the victory. UW highlights were home runs by Niki Williams and Shawna Wright. It was also Senior Day as UW honored Salling, Morgan Stuart and Tuiasosopo. The Senior Awards Banquet and Post-Season Kick-Off Event followed in the Don James Center. HUSKIES DROP THIRD-STRAIGHT PAC-10 SERIES Heading into the Pac-10 standings with Stanford, the two teams were nearly even on paper, in the conference rankings and in the national polls. 4 took game one, barely, 2-1. The Huskies evened the series, winning game two as freshman Kaitlin Inglesby picked up her 20th victory on the year and junior Niki Williams smashed a threerun home run. Game three and the series went to the Cardinal, in a 3-1 game. Freshman Bryana Walker got the start and picked up the loss. SALLING AND HUSKIES SALVAGE FINAL GAME AT UCLA Inglesby pitched every inning of all three games at UCLA and gave the Huskies a shot to win but the UW bats struggled in the first two games. The Huskies were nearly no-hit in game one before Salling got the only hit in the top of the seventh against Donna Kerr. In game three, Salling and Inglesby hit home runs as UW won, 4-3 in extra innings to snap a four-game losing streak and win its first game at UCLA since UW DROPS FIRST PAC-10 SERIES The Huskies suffered their first series loss of the 2011 Pac-10 season at the hands of Arizona in Tucson. UW was impressive in the first game as Inglesby pitched a complete game shutout in her first career Pac-10 road game. Junior Kimi Pohlman led the team in the series in runs and RBI. INGLESBY AND HUSKIES REBOUND AGAINST CAL The No. 12/9 Golden Bears from Cal visited Seattle and took game one from the Huskies, 10-0 in five innings. UW responded on Saturday, grinding out a 2-1 victory in eight innings and then returning the favor of a mercy rule on Sunday, 9-1 in six innings. Inglesby got both wins, allowing no earned runs on the weekend. She also hit a three-run home run on Sunday to end the game. Williams hit the game-winning home run Saturday. HUSKIES TAKE FIRST PAC-10 SERIES Washington opened up Pac-10 play hosting Oregon the last weekend in March. The Huskies took game one 3-2 and game two 4-3 before falling 8-0 in six innings in the final game. The freshmen led the Huskies in game one as Inglesby pitched a no-hitter through five innings. Marki Creger-Zier scored a run and Victoria Hayward had a hit and an RBI. In game two, Whitney Jones picked up her second save on the year and Walker got the win. SALLING DRAFTED NO. 3 OVERALL BY PRIDE Salling became the fifth Husky softball player selected in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Senior Draft and the highest ever at the No. 3 pick overall to the USSSA Pride. Salling will join former Husky greats Danielle Lawrie and Ashley Charters who currently play for the Pride. Lawrie helped guide them to a National Championship in INGLESBY NAMED PAC-10 PITCHER OF THE WEEK Inglesby was named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week for March 14-20, becoming the first and only Husky so far on the year to earn the honor. Inglesby led the team on the week with a 1.31 ERA in the tough Judi Garman Classic. She posted a 3-1 record in five appearances, two starts, two complete games, a shutout and a save in 26.2 innings pitched with 20 strikeouts and just five earned runs and four walks. HUSKIES SWEEP SPRING BREAK DOUBLEHEADER After being rained out three times during the season the Huskies were able to make up two games during spring break, extending the Fullerton trip to play a doubleheader at Cal State Bakersfield. It was the first-ever meeting between the Huskies and Roadrunners and UW won both, 9-0 (6) and 8-0 (5). Kaitlin Inglesby got both wins in the circle, allowing no runs and no hits. Niki Williams led the team, hitting over.800 with two home runs. THE LAST TO FALL Washington was the last undefeated team remaining in Division I softball this season heading into the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. UW defeated Fresno State 10 (5) in the first game before suffering its first loss to No. 12 Texas. The Huskies also lost to nationally ranked Oklahoma in extra innings. Also on the weekend the Huskies defeated Notre Dame, Illinois and Boise State. BATTLE OF UNBEATENS GOES TO UW After a month on the road the Huskies finally got to play at home as they hosted the Husky Softball Classic. UW faced USC Upstate in the first game in a battle of the unbeatens as the Huskies prevailed with a 10-2 victory in six innings. UW would defeat the Spartans again the next day On Saturday night, the Huskies beat in-town rival Seattle, 16-2 in five innings. Sunday's games were rained out. Inglesby hit the first grand slam by a Husky this year in the second game vs. USC Upstate. Whitney Jones pitched her first complete game as a Husky in the win over Seattle U, going all 5.0 innings with a career-high six strikeouts. HUSKIES SURVIVE NINE-INNING GAME, KEEP STREAK ALIVE On March 5-6 the Huskies played a three-game series in Albuquerque against the New Mexico Lobos, earning the sweep. It wasn't easy for the Huskies though, especially in the first game. New Mexico forced UW into its first extra-inning game of the season. Inglesby pitched the final 5.0 innings, getting the 7-4 win in nine innings, allowing just one run on one hit. The Huskies won the other two games in six innings, 11-2 and UW SWEEPS THROUGH CATHEDRAL CITY Washington opened the Cathedral City Classic defeating No. 21/24 Texas A&M, UW then held off a tough Fordham team, 2-0. On day two, the Huskies' offensive was on display as they took down Cal State Fullerton, 14-2 in five innings and UMass, 9-2. On the final day, the Huskies withstood a late rally by Cal Poly for the 5-3 victory. Williams led the team on the weekend with seven walks, seven RBIs and two doubles while hitting.583. Pohlman led the team with nine hits and was a perfect 6-6 on the base baths. The pitchers combined for 25 strikeouts and a 1.30 ERA on the week. HUSKIES GET THREE WINS IN SAN DIEGO The Huskies battled the rain in San Diego in February, getting the win in five innings over Sacramento State, 7-4, in a game that was cut short by the weather. Friday night's game vs. Fresno State was canceled as were all of the games on Saturday. Washington was able to play two games on Sunday, taking down Northwestern 6-1 in six innings (only six innings were played due to a pre-determined cutoff time) and the host No. 22 Aztecs, 6-3. The Huskies trailed SDSU 3-2 after four innings but a three-run home run by Morgan Stuart and a solo shot by Williams completed the rally. Pohlman led the team on the weekend with a.455 average. OPENING WEEKEND The Huskies went 5-0 on opening weekend at the SportCo Kickoff Classic hosted by UNLV, taking down four opponents in five innings. UW opened the season with an 8-0 victory in five innings over Illinois-Chicago, followed by a 23-4 victory over UC Riverside. On day two, UW defeated Mississippi State 18-5 and UNLV On the final day, the Huskies downed UCR again, RECORD BREAKERS The Huskies had an offensive explosion on opening weekend, scoring 88 runs in just 27 innings. With nine home runs in game one vs. UCR, the Huskies set a new school record and it is the second-most in a single game in NCAA history. Junior Taylor Smith herself had three, tying a school record in a game. Smith and Stuart both hit home runs in back-to-back at bats in the game, tying an NCAA record. Stuart had two in one inning. Against Mississippi State, the Huskies set a new school record for drawing 14 walks. SILENCING DOUBTERS With five young pitchers on the 2011 staff, the Huskies have gotten the job done this season, getting solid performances from all five. Inglesby is 25-8 on the year with three saves. She started the opening game vs. UIC where she pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits. In San Diego, she earned wins over Northwestern and No. 22 San Diego State and picked up her first career save vs. Sacramento State. She earned her second win over a ranked foe in Cathedral City, defeated No. 21 Texas A&M. Against Oregon she earned her first Pac-10 win, pitching a no-hitter through five innings. In the Pac-10, she had eight wins also over Cal, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon State and Stanford. In the first game at Arizona she pitched a complete game shutout for the win. At UCLA she pitched every inning of all three games, providing solid effort and keeping UW in each game, giving the Huskies a shot to win. She pitched every inning of the Seattle Regional earning MVP honors. Jones earned two starts on opening weekend, getting the win over Mississippi State. She picked up her second win over Cal State Fullerton and earned her first save against Cal Poly. She pitched her first complete game over Seattle U with a career-high six strikeouts and is now 5-0 on the year. Her second save came in game two vs. Oregon. Sophomore Baily Harris picked up both wins over UCR on opening weekend and has made six starts on the year. Junior Jenna Clifton has pitched 27.0 innings, mostly in relief and came up big at UNLV, getting the final two outs in the win. She has a 2-1 record with 16 strikeouts. Walker made her Husky debut coming in relief vs. Fordham after battling an injury at the start of the season. She pitched 4.0 great innings, allowing just one hit and getting the win. She is 3-5 on the season after getting a win vs. Oregon and dropping games at Arizona and Stanford and against ASU.

5 GOHUSKIES.COM STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Junior Niki Williams was named the Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 7-13 after hitting a team-high.818 on opening weekend with 10 runs, nine hits, three doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs, seven walks and a perfect fielding percentage at first base. Freshman Kaitlin Inglesby also earned this honor for the week of May after being named MVP of the NCAA Seattle Regional. Inglesby led the Huskies with a 2.33 ERA, going 3-0 in the circle and pitching all 21.0 innings while striking out 21 (including a career high 9 vs. Portland State) and allowing just five walks during the Regional tournament. HUSKIES PICKED TO FINISH FOURTH IN PAC-10 The pre-season Pac-10 coaches poll predicted the Huskies to finish fourth in Arizona and UCLA tied for first with four first-place vote and 46 total points. Arizona State was picked second (30), follow by Cal and Washington tied with 26. Stanford was picked sixth with 22 votes, just one ahead of Oregon. Oregon State finished eighth with seven votes. Washington has won the Pac-10 three times since joining in The Huskies won in 1996, 2000 and COACH TARR REACHING MILESTONES Head coach Heather Tarr picked up her 200th career victory with a win over San Diego State in 2010 and picked up win No. 250 at the Aztecs' home field over Northwestern earlier this year. SEASON DEBUTS With their win in their season-opening game against UC Riverside on Feb. 11, the Huskies have won five-consecutive season openers. UW has opened each of its 19 seasons with a multiple-team tournament, accruing a record. The Huskies have gone undefeated in seven of those tournaments (1996, 2000, '02, '03, '09, '10, '11), including a 5-0 mark in this year's SportCo Kickoff Classic at UNLV.
