SURVIVAL OF THE DEEPEST The Rays have placed OF Colby Rasmus on the 10-day DL, retroactive to Monday, June 19, with left hip tendinitis OF Shane Peterson was selected from Triple-A Durham to take his place on the active roster, bringing the 40-man roster to its full capacity the Rays have 13 players currently on the disabled list, tying the club record at one time they also had 13 players on the DL on June 9, 2017 and April 23, 2015, for only one day each time the Rays have seen 18 different players experience 21 DL stints this season. RAY MATTER With Wednesday s 8-3 rubber match win over Cincinnati, the Rays returned to 3 games over.500 (39-36), matching their season high (prev and 5-2) it was their seventh straight win in a rubber match game, as they improved to over their last 12 series the only series loss in that stretch a 3-game sweep, June 2-4 at SEA tonight the Rays look to improve to 4 games over.500 for the first time since since end of play July 1, 2015 (42-38) the Rays are the only team in baseball that has spent the entire season to date within 3 games of.500 (above or below) the Cubs and Angels have each remained within 4 games of.500.
