1 Dorkinians FC Lads & Dads, Mums & Lasses Sponsored Triathlon 2015 The Triathlon will comprise of 3 disciplines; Swimming, Cycling & Running. Heats will begin at 20 minute interval, beginning at 12:30, with approx 6 contestant in each. It is your responsibility to be at the POOLSIDE in good time.! All watches, stop watches will be synchronised with the Leisure Centre Clock. When the second hand of the Leisure Centre Clock hits your heat start time ie 12:30 YOUR OFF! The clock keeps ticking whether your out to win or just happy to finish See the attached running order for your Teams HEAT and START TIME Entrants can complete the course as; LADS & DADS, MUMS & LASSES Parent/Child relay team with both completing each discipline prior to tagging their partner. Parent swims 400m (16 lengths) first, tags the child, Child swims 200m (8 lengths (adjusted to suit child age and capability)). If the child is short of the 8 lengths the parent should wait poolside for 60 seconds per missed length, please apply commonsense within your heat. On completion of their 8 lengths, the child tags their parent who begins cycling from the Leisure Centre. The Adult Cycle finishes at the gate of Aviva Sport FIELD..! You DO NOT need to Enter the Aviva main site, The parent will tag their child over the gate. The child will then complete 2 laps of the course, mapped out by brightly coloured training poles around the perimeter of the field. Cycle around the outside of the brightly coloured training poles, when the second lap has been completed, the child tags the parents who will be waiting at the entrance to the field. PARENTS PLEASE DO NOT WAIT ON THE ROAD SIDE OF THE GATE..! The Adult then begins the RUN discipline. Details attached.

2 TEAMS & INDIVIDUALS Teams with children, follow the same format as L&D s, M&L s, same rules apply. Adult Teams First Team Member starts The Swim, 400m (16 lengths), on completion tags the next Team Member who begins Cycle discipline from the Leisure Centre. The Adult Cycle again finishes at the gate of Aviva Sport FIELD..! You MUST arrange for someone to look after or preferably take your bike straight away for safe keeping. The remaining Team Member then begins the RUN discipline. Details attached. (The run will finish at the CLUB HOUSE). The Organisers, Dorkinians FC or Aviva, cannot be held responsibility for contestant (or others attending) for their Property or welfare, other than to have the normal Dorkinians FC procedures in place at the three venues for the childrens disciplines.

3 Adult Cycle The Adult Cycle race begins from the Leisure Centre following the swim. START! From the Leisure Centre, cycle to The Burford Bridge Hotel at the bottom of Box Hill. Contestants can chose which ever route they are comfortable with To get to The Burford Bridge Hotel, there are safe cycle routes available for your SAFETY via the various cycle paths. You are advised to use the CYCLE LANES at all times. Remember you wont get a good time if you don t finish..! Be Sensible. Pass by The Burford Bridge with the hotel on your right and continue past Ryka s

4 Turn RIGHT up the Zig Zags Follow the Zig Zags up Box Hill to the View Point and continue on, DO NOT TURN OFF.

5 Continue on, you will go past The Tree pub (used to be The Hand in Hand ) You will arrive at the junction with Headley Road, Turn LEFT.

6 Follow the road up past the Headley Cricket Club, on your right. You are approaching a turn. Turn LEFT onto TOT HILL as you go down look out for the Postbox with the ornamental bicycle leant against it, this precedes a VERY SHARP LEFT hand bend.!

7 Stay on this road DO NOT TURN OFF..! Follow the road up the hill and down past the Golf Course and upto the A24 Roundabout, take the 1 ST LEFT, down to Givons Grove Roundabout, take the 1 ST LEFT. There is a cycle lane, if you cross to the far side of the far carriageway, affectionately known as the The Caldwell Maneuver.

8 Follow the A24 back towards Dorking, passing by The Burford Bridge Hotel. Past the Stepping Stones Car Park on your left and upto The Denbies Roundabout and turn LEFT into PIXHAM LANE. In 100 meters or so you will reach the Aviva Sports Field on your LEFT. Park your bike, you have completed the Cycle. FINISH..!

9 Adult Run Once the children have finished their cycle around the Aviva Sports Field, they will again tag there adult at the finish line. The Adult will then exit the Sports Field main entrance via the gate and turn RIGHT, Towards the A24, at the ROUNDABOUT, turn RIGHT towards The Burford Bridge Hotel. Follow the cycle path past the Stepping Stone Car Park on your right, until you Get to the SUBWAY. Turn Left, go under the A24 via the subway, at the other end turn LEFT, follow the A24 back towards Dorking. Past The Theatre of Dreams, Immediately after the Westhumble entrance, turn RIGHT through the big brick gated entrance. See Photo. Big Brick Gated Entrance Follow the road, under the RAILWAY BRIDGE, through the GATE and up the track.

10 DO NOT turn off until you hit concrete and tarmac. Light at the end of the tunnel..! Continue up to the CONCRETE ROAD. Turn RIGHT up the last stretch of hill.

11 Keep going up until you see the CROSS ROADS Turn LEFT. Enjoy the down hill run..! Follow the concrete road down and past the Château

12 Follow the exits out under the Railway Bridge Railway Bridge Once under the Railway Bridge go straight on through the gate and out onto the A24 cycle path, turn LEFT back towards Leatherhead and the subway (For your safety) Go back under the Westhumble subway and out on The Burford Bridge side, TURN RIGHT..! HOME STRAIGHT NOW.Back to AVIVA..! At the roundabout, turn LEFT back into PIXHAM LANE, past the Aviva Sports Field and into PIXHAM LANE SPORTS GROUND.. THE SPIRITUAL HOME OF DORKINIANS. Last bit upto the CLUB HOUSE, find your child, tag him/her and your FINISHED..! The children will now run 2 laps of either the Junior U10 s or Youth Courses to take the finish line in front of a partisan crowd outside the Club House. THE BAR & BBQ WILL BE OPEN ENJOY A WELL DESERVED FREE BEVERAGE..!
