4 PAGE 4 NEWSLETTER TITLE ISSUE 6 HANNAH UPDATE Since many of you were and have been so generous with donations, prayers and well wishes to help my greatniece Hannah, I thought I would give an update on her progress. I have been periodically posting updates on the bulletin board at the Post but for those of you who don t visit the Post often here is the latest from her Mom. My family is very grateful and thankful for everything everyone has done and is doing to help this precious little girl get back to as normal as possible. Judy Holmes INCHING ALONG Hannah continues to impress with her endurance. She is able to accept hours of therapy each day. I m still waiting for a lightbulb moment where she realizes that she wants to run, or wants to walk, or crawl, or laugh, or anything awesome that a three year old does. It seems sometimes that she s forgotten that her body is capable of lots of movement. And that she s supposed to do these things. But the truth is, maybe she has forgotten. Who knows. Her memory may likely be gone. However, she is still making that beautiful silvery snail trail. She has all but stopped grinding her teeth. She continues to swallow well, but not super quickly. She is still on a feeding tube. She s vocalizing more. And is smirking and smiling more also. She has started pre-school and seems to be thriving. I can see her face light up when she hears the other kids voices. She likes being part of a classroom and her teachers, aides, nurse, and school therapists are AMAZING! We use the cold laser almost every day. Averaging about 30 minutes each day. I do think that it s helping her progress in ways she might not have without it. (I mentioned in the last post, but in case any inquiring minds want to know more: And I am still blown away by the constant support of friends and family. Thank you to everyone who continues to reach out and lift us up. We are forever grateful!
