4 Safe2Save Parent Competition about SAFE 2 SAVE: Thank you so much for your participation in our SAFE2SAVE competition! I am attaching a flyer we have the summarizes the most basic information for users. Please feel free to include this in newsletters or social media! If you are looking for a paragraph to put in a newsletter, website or on Facebook here is a short blurb Safe 2 Save is a free app that rewards drivers for not touching their phones while they drive. Once the app is downloaded and settings are configured, drivers receive two points for every minute that you drive without touching your phone (apps can run in the background like maps, handsfree phone, Pandora, etc ). Once you have accumulated some points you can redeem them for great discounts at local businesses and restaurants. Even though the handsfree law is throughout the state of Texas now, some people still need some additional motivation to just leave their phones down while driving. We ve really seen many people change their behavior because of this app! Our competitions are a fun way for participants to raise awareness for distraction-free driving. At Midland High the student who earns the most amount of points before Nov. 23rd, will win $1000 and the parent with the most points could win $500. We will also be handing out 10 "engagement prizes" on random days to students who are posting on Social Media and using the app. These prizes are an assortment $50 gift cards! All the prize money has been graciously donated by the local Misty Borland Phiffer or Borland Phiffer Law PLLC. To join the competition follow these steps: 1. Download Safe 2 Save from the app store 2. Input your information and configure your settings 3. Click the Trophy Icon on the bottom right hand corner 4. Insert the code of the competition you would like to join: either PERMIANSTUDENT or PERMIANPARENTS 5. Pull up the app to log in every time you get into your car. Apps can run in the background but don't exit out of the app until you arrive at your destination. 6. Post on social media using #drivesafe2save to qualify for some of our engagement prizes! With any questions please feel free to abigayle@safe2save.org so you can start competing today! Visit safe2save.org for more information about our app and the businesses we partner with in the Midland/Odessa area. Thanks!! Navy-Teacher of the Year Mrs. Solano has been nominated as Navy Teacher of the Year. The nomination is for showing leadership in the classroom as an educator and also for being supportive of the Navy recruiters and the students who enter the Navy. The celebration is a 4 day event where we visit the base, ships and Navy museums to learn more about the Navy s mission, educational opportunities for students, and meet to honor the sailors and they honor us teachers.
