Come by the counseling department or room A-1 to pick up a Request for Final Transcript order form. When you return the completed form, please supply: 1. Two (2) 4x91/2 inch envelopes, each with a 49 cent stamp or 1 forever stamp One envelope addressed to the Admissions Office of your fall college One envelope addressed to the graduating student sent to your home address-do NOT OPEN-extra transcript for an emergency. 2. $10 CASH ONLY 3. Return completed form and addressed envelopes to the counseling office or the Registrar in room A-1 by Friday, June 30, The envelopes need to be legible. Do not procrastinate! I cannot send your transcript to a college until you order your transcript. Please order your transcript today!! Seniors! Be sure you get your debts cleared with the student store, cafeteria, and library ASAP so your graduation tickets are not held from you. THE SENIOR SOURCE with all the information regarding all year end Senior activities is on the front page of the Newbury Park website. All the forms you need including graduation ticket, handicap seating, DVD, and lei order forms are included in the Source. Graduation ticket sales begin May 1 st. No copies will be mailed home this year. Don t miss this opportunity to have a professionally videotaped and edited DVD OF YOUR GRADUATION ceremony! DVD includes the entire ceremony with a close up of your student receiving their diploma. Drop off forms and payments to Mrs. Barker in Activities. Order before June 9 th and save $10. 2 GENERAL STUDENT BODY Hot Stuff! BOAT RACES on Friday, May 26 th at 3:00pm at the pool. Grilled Cheese Truck is coming to Newbury Park. Friday, May 26 th behind the pool. Starts at 3:00pm. Bring your friends and enjoy the Boat Races and PANTHER PALOOZA featuring some of our incredible Bands. Come watch students try to get from one end of the pool to the other using duct tape and cardboard boats! There will be live bands and food trucks. Come for the fun!! Next week is a SPIRIT WEEK leading up the Breakfast Club Finale Rally! Monday: Senioritis Day (PJs), Tuesday: Jock Day (jerseys), Wednesday: College wear, Thursday: 80s Day, Friday: Finale Rally! Class Colors! Fresh: Grey, Soph: White, Jr: Gold, Sr: Black Thank you to all the students and staff that helped out with SPECIAL OLYMPICS. The event was a huge success thanks to you!!! YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION STARTS: June 1 in Room B-9 before school, at lunch and after school until 3:05pm only. Must bring your Student ID. Yearbook sales begin June 5 th in the Student Store, $110 cash only. The NPHS Theatre Department proudly presents the opening of our spring play production, the comedy "AUNTIE MAME", starting this Friday, May 12th at 7:00 pm. It s a great play discussing the time period starting in 1928 and spanning until 1946, showcasing the wacky adventures of Mame Dennis and her orphan nephew, Patrick Dennis, played over the backdrop of American history and discusses great themes about living life to the fullest. It is a family friendly show, so feel free to bring the family along with you. The production runs May 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20 at 7:00 pm in the PAC. Additional tickets can be purchased at the door ($10 General Admission) or online at Tickets for the THEATRE BANQUET on Saturday, May 27th can be purchased with Mrs. Strange in G-2. Tickets are $5. The NEWBURY PARK HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA will be performing their spring concert Friday, June 2 nd at 7 pm in the Performing Arts Center. A variety of rock and roll classics will be featured, with a special performance by the senior founding class of And additional performances by award winning strings students. Presale admission is $5 through an orchestra member, at the door admission is $10 per adult and $5 for children 12 and under. The NEWBURY PARK HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA is holding a California Pizza Kitchen Fundraiser all day Tuesday, June 6 th. Flyers will be available in the office or on the N.P.H.S. Website, to be presented to your server at CPK. Takeout orders and group orders are included. Are you interested in being part of the PTV STAFF next year? If so, audition packets are now available and need to be filled out and returned by Thursday, May 18. To pick up an audition packet or if you have any questions, please see Mr. Grimes in C20. NPHS END OF YEAR CONCERT: Thursday, May 25 th and Friday, May 26 th at 7pm in the PAC. Pre-order tickets with any choir student for $10. $10 tickets available at the door also. RECRUITING WRITING CENTER TUTORS!!!! Are you a gifted writer? Do you like helping others? If so, you may want to be a peer tutor at the writing center next year. You can earn volunteer hours or academic credit for your service. Applications are available in the front office or in B12 and are due June 1 to Ms. Bond's mailbox or room B12. There will be a brief, mandatory meeting on Friday, June 2 at 2:10 in B12 for all those who turned in applications on time. Pre-sales are happening right now for the YEAR-END ORCHESTRA SPRING CONCERT. Thursday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26 th. Tickets are $5 pre-sale and $10 at the door, children 12 and younger are free. This concert will pay tribute to rock classics and will feature a special performance by the class of 2017.

3 The orchestra will be putting on a CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN FUNDRAISER on Tuesday, June 6. Chamber performances will happen at dinner. Flyers are available in the front office. DANCE TEAM S ANNUAL KIDS SUMMER DANCE CAMP EVENT: July 31-Aug 4 from 9:00am-12:00pm at NPHS. More info and registration at nphsdance.org. SO CAL PHILSOPHY ACADEMY: June am-12:30pm at CLU. Free day camp for local high school students who are interested in philosophy and engaging in philosophical discussions. To apply please the following items to: briancollins@callutheran.edu: Name, high school and entering grade level, brief paragraph (200 word limit) explaining why you are interested in participating in the Academy. DRUMLINE WORKSHOP: Do you love to drum? Would you like to learn how to read music and play in an amazing group? The NPHS Band is hosting a free Drumline Workshop on Friday, May 19 th from 2:30-5:30pm in the band room to start building our percussion section for next year s Marching Band. Come learn from one of the best rudimental drummers in the country as Pete Sapadin unlocks the secrets to great technique. Dress comfortably and bring your sticks and a practice pad (don t worry if you can t). This is a great way to get involved with the drumline and be a part of next year s band! WOMEN OF SUBSTANCE AND MEN OF HONOR INC is a non-profit community organization supporting emancipated and at-risk youth in Ventura County. They are hosting a 3x3 basketball tournament on June 17 th at CLU. To register, go to wosmoh.org/wosmoh-hoops. Call for questions or to volunteer. NCAA JUNIORS & SENIORS Order your transcript to be sent to NCAA at the end of your junior year and again at the end of your senior year. Stop by the counseling office or room A-1 to pick up a transcript request form. Your transcript cannot be sent to NCAA until you order your transcript. If you have lost your STUDENT ID for this year, please see Mrs. Barker in activities to get a replacement. Replacement ID s are $10. ATTENTION STUDENTS WHO DRIVE TO SCHOOL: This year, students who have parked at Borchard Park have done a fantastic job parking only in the designated spaces. Thank you very much. Your cooperation is appreciated by Borchard staff members and NPHS administration. However, please be advised that if you park on campus, you must park in the designated student parking lot. At no time may any student park in any part of the staff lots, whether or not the spots are specifically marked. This includes the spots in front of the A building parking lot. Staff lots are between the two driveway entrances, and along the B, C, & D buildings. Students who park in these off-limits areas will be fined and required to move their cars. ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: You must use the crosswalk at Lesser Drive or the near the Marquee if you need to walk across Reino coming to and from school. Walking to the stoplight is not nearly as inconvenient as causing an accident. Laws are in place for your safety and the safety of others. The Panther Prowler newspaper is the official student publication of Newbury Park High School. LUNCHTIME LEARNING CENTERS: Monday-Thursday: Math Center-D22, Science Center-C5. AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING CENTER: 2:30-4pm all subjects in the Cafeteria. WRITING CENTER: Times and locations are: Monday-Friday at lunch in B12, and Monday- Thursday after school in the cafeteria. If you need help with writing in any subject, please come in! You can walk in, or request an appointment (NPHS website--counseling site--index of Links--Writing Center Appointment Request--sign in to learn account). LIBRARY HOURS: Library is open at 7 AM every morning. Monday through Thursday it closes at 5 PM, and on Friday it closes at 2:30 PM. STUDENT RESTROOMS OPEN DURING SCHOOL HOURS ARE LOCATED IN THE D- BUILDING ON THE QUAD SIDE, AND IN THE C-BUILDING IN THE MIDDLE STAIRWAY. THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENT IS ALWAYS UPPER MOST IN OUR MINDS. MOTOR OFFICERS ARE HELPING KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFE BY GIVING CITATIONS TO

4 THOSE WHO JAY WALK OR ENTER THE CROSSWALK AFTER THEY ARE PERMITTED TO DO SO. AS A REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS, no instruments or sports equipment will be allowed to be dropped off or stored in the lobby as we will not be responsible for them. You must make arrangements before the start of school to store these in your class. LOST & FOUND: Students are responsible for checking the lost and found in the office for any misplaced items. Please note that all items not claimed will be donated at the end of every month. At What s Coming Up! THE NPHS OFFICIAL FIDM FASHION CLUB is a great club on campus for anyone and everyone to join! We meet Mondays at lunch in G2 and Thursdays at lunch in C27. FENCING CLUB meets every Tuesday from 2:15-4pm. Come to B-23. Beginners are welcome. Come and check it out. Do you like to read graphic novels? The GRAPHIC NOVEL CLUB meets during lunch on Fridays in the Library Conference Room. New members are welcome. The CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION (CSF) meets the first Tuesday of each month during lunch. We will now meet in a much larger room- E5. Do you have an interest in space or maybe how airplanes fly? Do you sit at home and wonder about the universe? Then AEROSPACE AND AVIATION CLUB is the place for you! We discuss everything from piloting to aerospace engineering. Meetings are held every Thursday at lunch in Mr. Weingarden s room, D-2. Looking for fun ways to get community service hours? TEENS HELPING THE ELDERLY, better known as The Club, is perfect for you! We have been on NPHS s campus since 2014 and are always looking for new members! We look forward to events such as the Alzheimer s Walk, senior home visits, Relay for Life, and more! We meet every other Tuesday at the beginning of lunch in Mrs. Denchfield s room, F9. Join us for a great time (and candy!) ART CLUB meets every Friday in C26. It s a place to make new friends and share the love of art! ANIMAL WELFARE: Attention animal lovers! Come join our interactive business group on Wednesdays at lunch in room B-21! This group works to create a better environment for animals at the animal shelter by making things such as blankets, toys, and collars. Anyone is welcome!! Do you want to learn how to make mobile apps? Join the APP CLUB! We meet every other Wednesday in Room D2 at lunch. No coding experience necessary. Both Apple and Android compatible. CODENATION CLUB: If you would like to learn basic Java programming or web design prior to taking our school s great AP Computer Science courses, join us on Wednesdays in Room E2 from 4-5pm! nphscodenation@gmail.com or visit codenation.club for more details.

5 Do you love solving computational data problems and writing computer programs? Join the AMERICAN COMPUTER SCIENCE LEAGUE (ACSL) TEAM! We meet on Tuesdays in Room E2 during lunch and have beginning, intermediate and advanced teams. Attention Student Editors, Writers and Artists - The Literary Magazine meets every Wednesday at lunch in Room B-2. Come join this great group of students in producing our magazine! FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES will meet on Thursdays in E10 at lunch. All are welcome!! SPORTS NPHS ATHLETIC PHYSICAL DAY is coming up on Saturday, May 20 th at Body Logic Sports Therapy located at 4165 Thousand Oaks Blvd. #150 in Westlake Village. Males will be at 11am and females at 12pm. $25 cash or check payable to NPHS Athletics. Physical forms will be available that day at Body Logic or you can also print one from athleticclearance.com after you create your student s account for the school year. Physicals are valid for 12 months. Flyers are available in the Athletic Office. NPHS HOCKEY CLUB: will be having tryouts in May All players are welcome to try out for the Panthers Hockey Club.
