1 Lily Huber Libby Kraemer Laura Setton Ava Gerog Maddie Huber Ellie Ott Maggie Prewitt Emily Setton Kelly Shannon January 9, 2014 Board Members Present: Jennifer Kraemer, Sandy Brunk and Brenda Ott Pledge: and Welcome: Visitors Kathy Trelc and her daughter Rebecca! Sharing: We shared ideas on how to keep our ponies safe and warm in the very cold weather we had been having! Congratulations to for completing her entire Horse management badge book! Mrs. Brunk informed us that we have around $4,400 in our treasury account. Much of that was a donation for the Little D Rally that was cancelled and is rescheduled for this year. We offered to return the donations to the corporations; no one requested their money back. She reported that we have plenty of Kwik Trip Gas Cards to sell, which is at a 10% profit and very easy for our club to earn money on. Van De Walle s candy bar sale will be in February...please be present to pick up your boxes. At $1 they are a very easy sell! Mrs. Kraemer pointed out the letters of appreciation we have received for the donated pies to the local warming shelter and the USPC disaster relief money sent from the compost sales. Keep in mind that we are collecting spare change for the USPC Annual Fund. We will be collecting all year and will send whatever we get by next December. Discussed the Christmas party (thank you, Brunk s for hosting!) We all had a great time; the purple pony game was a blast (again!). Mrs. Kraemer reviewed the rewards given out that night for those who did not attend. Activity Calendar is out for the upcoming year and has been ed to everyone and given out at the meeting. It was suggested that maybe the acronyms would be further defined for those new pony clubbers who are unfamiliar with the events and abbreviations. Mrs. Kraemer will be working on more clarity for that. Don t forget Quiz! Rally is scheduled for March in Gladstone Michigan. Everyone should have received an ed schedule of dates and topics for prep meetings. Feel free to attend even if you cannot go to the Quiz Rally. Winter Lecture Series at Great Lakes Equine...check out their Website for more info! We had fun discovering the horse s digestive system by using a very long rope, many people, and the whole barn aisle to represent the basic parts and their functions!

We began with a How well do you know your saddle? quiz and 5 were left standing! Mrs. Brunk informed us that we have around $2,217 in our treasury account. Kwik trip order with payment has been sent in and Vande Walle s paid for candy bars...so outstanding money in will be profit. Four boxes were left and were given out to members for selling. She reported that we have plenty of Kwik Trip Gas Cards to sell, which is at a 10% profit and very easy for our club to earn money on. The following forms that were ed to all members were collected tonight; the Athlete agreement, the FVPC regulations form and the Bittersweet release of liability form. Rather than our horse specifically, we guessed, then identified the ergot, its location, use, and what horses we are likely to see it on. We also discussed the Quiz Team standings and the fun time had at the Quiz Rally in Gladstone, Michigan last month. Mrs. Brunk informed us that candy bar sales are now over and we have a new batch of Kwik Trip cards. Soliciting donations for the Little D Rally are still encouraged, but need to be dollars rather than items, as we are not doing a silent auction for this event. We were reminded to test at a level of comfortability...meaning we are familiar with and able to perform at and even above, the level we want to test at. This makes allowances for testing jitters and unforeseen circumstances. May 10&11, Bittersweet will host an LSR clinic with Maureen Pach for flat dressage and jumping. We will provide a luncheon for fundraising and we NEED volunteers to coordinate. Food will be provided by cooperative parents, but we need someone to plan, organize and staff this event just during the lunch preparation, serving and clean up times. JUNE 21 we will need ALL HANDS ON DECK for the Little D Rally at Bittersweet for D1 and D2 s. Again, food will be provided for this one day rally by our club members. Libby Kraemer updated us on the Jr. Board meeting last month. Jamboree has been expanded from a 3 day event to a 4 day event, with mini rally and games on the fourth day. This will give the participates an opportunity to get experience rallying and showcase what they learned in the prior three days at camp. This will also give an opportunity and more time for them to test at camp, if they choose to do so. Sleepover camp at Bittersweet is now expanded to two nights of fun! August come join us for crafts, games, lessons, more riding and lots of fun.
