Sponsors are adults that help plan the activities for the year as well as help out. Cost is $5; we need you! Scrapbook please send in your pictures to our club s Shutterfly picture sharing site. Sharing: Kelly s horse Miles got an abrasion on the inside of his hock. Hannah s horse, Hannah(!) got a laceration from the electric fence. brought her saddle that had unfortunately been on her pony as she rolled in the arena. The tree was broken and the panel was torn off of the sweat flap. Moral of the story: Don t let your ponies roll while you re leading them. Quiz Rally Congratulations Alex, Ava, Emily, Maggie, Maddie, Grace, and Katie! Job well done! All agreed that is was a lot of fun and are looking forward to next year! June 1 Spring Testing: good luck Maggie, Isabelle, Hannah and McKala. Checklist due 5/6/13. Except for six of them, the jackets are on back order until July. Instructors Symposium Saturday and Sunday at Bittersweet Farm with Karen Marcotte, national examiner. Maggie, Grace, Katie L, and Kelly are riding in both the symposium and clinic. We need help in the kitchen Sunday. Please wrap your desserts individually for easy sale. We intend to charge $1.00 for them, so make them generously sized; about 3 x 3. Emily Hase indicated that she had body scored her horse at home. Reviewed Trailering Seminar. shared what she learned. and Grace Brunk to write thank you cards to Dr. Rob and Ray. Reviewed first aid kits and what should be included. Concussion forms were collected. It was requested that those who did not bring them, should mail them to Jennifer Kraemer. It was reiterated that participation in all regional events would require this signed form. The photo albums were distributed to the Brunks and Otts. Check to PVPC $ All clothing was distributed to those in attendance who had placed orders. Discussed those signed up for spring testing June 1 Hannah, Maggie, Isabelle, McKala, Hailey Discussed Regional Camp on June 24th. indicated that, unlike past years, there are still openings. Described it was for strong D2 riders and above. Also discussed Jamboree and its application for D1 s and less confident riders. Rally teams, beginning August 23 rd, will be assembled at the next meeting. It will be in DePere again at WEC. Treasurer s Report: Instructor s Symposium earned $ Recycled cans were taken in for $56.00 Account balance is currently $ , but several monies will be collected yet for clothing and candy sales. We reviewed the importance of an equine emergency kit and the must have thermometer and stethoscope. Congratulations to Hailey D1, Maggie D3 HM/F, Isabelle and Hannah - D1, D2, HM/F, McKala D3 T, C1 HM/F Thank you Laura, Katie L, and Grace who helped out at the rating Tet Rally: In Lake Geneva this year; NOT DePere. There may not be enough teams to warrant running the rally this year. Sleepover camp July at Bittersweet Farm. We are in the process of securing an instructor. The flyer has been sent out. Libby and Katie L. are signed up to be counselors at D Jamboree. Thanks girl s! A Little d Rally our big fundraiser to take the place of wine tasting is Sep 7. It is a oneday, 5-team event at BSF for UR, D1 and D2 children (target age is 12 yrs. & younger). We will sell food, have a silent auction, and members are expected to secure sponsors for this event. Natalie has designed a T-shirt and businesses can buy a spot on the back of the t-shirt or show bill. Packets and envelopes detailing the sponsorship process were handed out to members at the meeting. Sandy Brunk is in charge of the fundraising. Everyone must be involved. Keep September 7 th open. Spring 2013 testing sheets and badges are on the lounge door; pick them up! The Regatta jackets are on backorder until September FVPC Camp was really fun. Stay calm and trot on was the theme and was printed on tiedye t-shirts. We are taking suggestions for next year. D Jamboree Thank you for volunteering Emily S., Katie L., Libby Ann Haller Clinic - a LSR clinic at Bittersweet Farm our club had many riders (FVPC and FVHM) for this wonderful clinician. She is tentatively scheduled to return May 9! Little D Rally our big fundraiser, which focuses on UR, D1, and D2 members. It is a one-day rally hosted by us at Bittersweet Farm, consisting of 5 or less teams with 2 stable managers and 5 riders (one on a lead line). It will be FUN and there will be cool ribbons. Ava and Ellie O. are on a team thus far with Libby as 1 stable manager. WE NEED VOLUNTEER HELP FROM EACH FAMILY! We ll have duties posted soon. PYR Rally (Pick Your Ride) Captain Libby, Ellie N., Grace, Katie L., and Stable Manager Emily L., August at Geneva Equestrian Center. Libby will be setting up a pizza and rally trunk night with the team members. This rally is a qualifying rally for Dressage and Show Jumping USPC Championships in Fall testing Sept 21 candidates: Maya C2 Traditional, Maggie D3 J, Ava D1 and D2 Traditional, Laura C2 HM, F, Grace D3 J and Hannah D2 J Examiner is Marlie. C2 HM might possibly be Friday night. Checklists (aka. flow sheets) are due Aug 31; no later!

Think about in Kentucky in 2014 it is incredible! It includes 2014 USPC Championships and Festival clinics with hands on horse management sessions with National Examiners, Rolex riders, and Olympians. One must qualify for Championships at a regional rally. Fall Trail Ride: October 12. Cari to organize. At the Pick Your Ride Rally the FVPC team earned 7 th in Horse Management and 6 th Overall in Riding. Congratulations! How well do you know your horse management? Reviewed helmet testing guidelines and what ASTM and SEI stood for again. (Grace received a Popsicle for being the only one remembering!) Everyone helped answer the question.why Horse Management? After all the heavy sighs, many terrific answers were given (see the white board). Talked about Cancellation of Little D Rally. Discovered from other groups that it was basically a timing issue September and the beginning of school year, etc. just didn t work for most members. May consider still doing the Little D next year, but moving it to another time. Got several donations for the rally and have mailed a letter telling donors about the cancellation and offering to return the money. No one has asked for their donations to be returned yet. We have also offered to put their names in our upcoming newsletter for advertisement and on pur web site. Fall testing coming up on September 21 st and whether or not we could do a separate testing for D1s in November since there are several who want to test at that level. Fall Trail Ride in the Northern Kettle Moraine on October 12. Being organized by Cari Ullrich (thanks!) Wear bright orange and be creative with it! Details for pie sales will be given out in the upcoming October Meeting. They learned a lot. Kelly s horse, Myles, was purchased by Horsemaster Jean Blando and moved to another barn closer to home. Jennifer K re-bought Koty, a mustang. Jitterbug is finally sound! How Well Do You Know Your Horse? Describe roughage (hay, hay cubes, etc), concentrates (corn mixed feed, beet pulp, supplements, pellets), and succulents (grass, carrots, apples, juicy foods.) Everyone signed the notes we sent with our donations of $110 each to USPC and USEF disaster relief; we earned the money selling compost The Kettle Moraine Trail Ride was really fun we had a beautiful morning ride with Katie L, Grace, Ellie, Libby, and Cari, but the three Jens were rained out of their afternoon ride. We decided to sleep over on the grounds next year. Mrs. Landolt is busy working on the newsletter thank you everyone for your contributions The Annual Board and Sponsor Meeting was 11/7/13. Our new secretary is Brenda Ott. (Thank you Brenda!) We are accepting 2014 club sponsors; adults who want to help run and plan club activities, as well as vote. The fee is $5 per year. Each club is asked to participate in the National PC s Annual Fund drive. Next year we plan to set out a spare change bucket and at the end of the year, and send the money to National. Certificates and bandages were handed out: Ava D1, D2 Traditional, Hannah D2 Jump, Grace D3 Jump. Pie Sale: We sold 156 pies, 11 hams and raised $ Our top seller was Libby (29 pies/7 hams), then Hannah (24 pies/3 hams), and Mia (17 pies). Libby s secret: she ed family and friends. Great Job everyone! Jen L. serenaded us beautifully with the pie song. We got it on video :) Pie pick-up is Thursday Nov 21 after 5pm at Bittersweet Farm. All $ should be turned in now. Brunk family will host our annual Pot Luck Christmas Party December 30 at 6pm. We will continue the tradition of the Purple Pony Gift Exchange, where each member brings a gift ($15 or less), wrapped with something purple. Look for your ed invitation soon. Quiz 2014 will be in Gladstone, MI. Our Quiz Queen this year is Katherine Prewitt.
