When I got there everyone was swimming. I jumped into the pool and the other riders and I talked, laughed, and swam. We had hamburgers for dinner.

Our parents had put up tents earlier in the day. We all went to sleep. The next morning we woke up to find we were going to have a pancake breakfast.

When I got there everyone was swimming. I jumped into the pool and the other riders and I talked, laughed, and swam. We had hamburgers for dinner. After that, we all swam some more and then watched The Black Stallion. I bet everybody wished they could have a horse as beautiful as the Black. Our parents had put up tents earlier in the day. We all went to sleep. The next morning we woke up to find we were going to have a pancake breakfast. After breakfast, lots of people went swimming again. Slowly people began to leave. 4 Breed of the Month: The Shetland Pony History Of The Shetland Pony The Shetland Pony inhabits the Shetland Islands off Northern Scotland although the exact origins are unclear. Shetland Ponies were used as pit ponies and also used for pulling carts of peat and seaweed. The first written record of the Shetland Pony was in 1603 in the Court Books of Shetland. The Shetland Pony became the first pony to have its own breed society with the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society being formed in Height Of The Shetland Pony The Shetland Pony stands up to 10.2 hh. Color Of The Shetland Pony Black, bay, brown, chestnut, grey and part-colored. Breed Characteristics Of The Shetland Pony The Shetland Pony has a small broad head, sloping shoulders, short back and legs, full mane and tail. The Shetland Pony is able to carry considerable weight and is hardy. Temperament Of The Shetland Pony Headstrong and independent. Become a part of the Royal Riders Pony Club. Pony Club is an international club geared toward educating our youth and guiding them toward becoming better horse riders. Pony club will encourage our young horse lovers to become even better citizens in our already strong community of horse lovers. This year promises to be full of new experiences. Each month we will have an unmounted lesson and two (or more if you want) mounted lessons. In the last year, we have already hosted Pony Play Days for our members, represented our club in our local parades, made our own homemade horse treats, and participated in a Pony Club Rally and Camp. In 2009 we are hoping to participate in even more rallies and clinics, as well as to experience some local field trips. We welcome you to join us!
