In September we will be electing a new Executiv e. I am stepping dow n. I have been President of the Canadian Division since 2002 and have enjoy ed my job to the fullest. Our Annual General Meeting will be held September 26, We will be electing a new President, Vice President and Member at Large, I urge every one to attend that m eeting and take part in choosing the new leaders of y our club. Ther e w ill also be other changes in the club processes; Charles Reif will be looking after the TTOS Canadian Flyer. In the food departm ent, Sid and Olivia Ball will be handling the food and Ed Stephens will be making sure we are all well hydrated with his beverage service. I know they will do a great job and I trust you will all help them in any way you can. I would also ask that you continue to support our advertisers. It as taken us some time to build up the dedicated group of advertisers we have and their continued support will ensure the continued regular publication of the TTOS Canadian Flyer. 2 TTOS MEETS 2010 Pres ident s Message continued I would, at this time like to thank those people who hav e helped m e with my job as Pr esident of th e Canadian Division. These are the people that made me look good. First of all, my wife, Gail Ferrier was and is my biggest supporter. Gail designed, published and edited the newsletter, many a night she would be up late trying to get the newsletter to the Printers. Gail also was the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer for the club; she provided the food for all of the meetings. A lot of prep work went into the salads, meat trays etc. that you folks enjoyed every meeting. Without Gail providing the food, I not sure what we would have been eating these past years. Coffee and doughnuts was Mark s suggestion. Gail will not be at the next two meetings, in September she will be running a graduation ceremony for PADS the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society and in October Gail and I will be away celebrating our 30 th wedding anniversary. Gail has worked hard for the club and on behalf of the club and myself I would like to thank her publicly for every thing she did. Further, I would like to thank the entire board for making my job as Pr esident, a very pleasant experience. When I first became President back in September 2002, I had no idea on how to even run a meeting. Charles Reif and George Plant were my constant advisers. Ev ery one of the executive members has made my job an enviable position am ong other Presidents. Our annual June Barbecue is always one of the highlights of the TTOS Canadian Div ision calendar. For a number of years, Mark Horne has had access to a Tent & large barbecue with his school connections. No idea what happens next year?!?! Gary Zabenskie (ph oto a bove ) has been a regular burger flipper at the ev ent and the food was enjoy ed by ev ery one! MMMMMMMMMM Delicious! Contact Charles Reif creif@shaw.ca Our club has grown considerably since I became President and I hope it continues to grow. I know when you get a group of men our age together, there is a certain attrition factor that keeps the numbers down. I do know that there are people out there that collect the sam e trains that we do and never make it to a m eeting, what a shame. In the future, I will be focusing my efforts on increasing the mem bership of the Canadian Division and I would urge every one to try to do the sam e. Remember, y our annual membership fees are due in September. Mark Horne will also be collecting money for the CP Car, if you haven t already ordered TTOS Canadian Flyer Septem ber, 2010 page 2 your car, please see Mark and rectify the situation. Money will also be collected for the Bus Trip in November. I hope to see as many of you as possible at our AGM and at various outings in the future.
