Our School Council has played a significant role again this year and I cannot thank our dedicated Councillors enough for the valuable time and energy they have all contributed to this important function of the school. On behalf of the school community, a huge thank you to the following parents & staff who have contributed so many hours to support the governance of the school this year: Simone Royle (President/Finance/Parent Association), Gary Barrett (Vice President) Warren Peterson (Secretary/Facilities Convenor), Sandra Code (Community Market Convenor), Alicia Perkins (Education Convenor), Amanda Reeve, Deanne Norman, Mandy Bos & Paul King. 5 Tootgarook Pushcarts and HPV S On Wednesday all the pushcart and HPV kids went to Maryborough. We set up our tents and shortly after we had tea, as most of the nights we had barbeques, then we had an early bedtime as we had to wake up early Thursday morning. Then we got up Thursday had breakfast, then we went to watch the HPV presentations Family Feud and The Simpsons. As it was really hot lots of pushcart kids went to the pool before scrutineering. Then the pushcart kids got their gear on and pushed the push cart over to our design and construction. We did really well as we knew all the answers to the judges questions. After that it was still REALLY hot so some people had a short swim in the pool. That night most people got take away (KFC) as it was so hot that there was a total fire band for the night. After dinner some people got an ice cream and watched the last few minutes of Minion s. Then everyone went to bed reading for the endurance race Friday morning. Friday morning we all woke up and had a healthy breakfast, then both pushcart teams walked over to the Holden track (HPV) track and got ready for the lady to call the push cart numbers. When they called our numbers we walked to out stations and got ready for the pair to come and swap with us. It was great because that was we did quick change over then we had a 2 hour break so we watched the HPV s they were so good and fast then we went back for the pushcarts presentations we all did great because everyone remembered their lines and had fun Miss Withers team came 1 st then we went back to the campsite and got ready for the obstacle sadly it was raining so when we did it, it was slippery Mr Taylor and Grahams team got 3mins 57seconds and did not touch the cones then Miss Wither s team got 4mins 10 seconds and hit the cones 3 times, but everyone had fun and tried there hardest. After the obstacle course some people went to the pool to cool off, and some people chilled out, and got ice cream. That night most people had barbeques. After that everyone was really tired and went to sleep. Saturday afternoon there was the sprint race. Miss Wither s Team came third and Graham s team came 2 nd. After that most people started to pack up their tents and belongings. But before most people left they walked over to the pits and watched the last bit of the HPV race. The HPV s came an awesome score and had fun, Sustainable Peninsula came 23 rd and Royle4 came 9 th. We would like to say thankyou to all the parents and teachers who came along to help. We couldn t of made it without you! By Miah. T And Payton. W
