Committee Reports: None Advisor Reports Advisor Linda started her reports by saying that Daniel Marquez wanted to thank all of the clubs that help on Latino Heritage Day. Linda thanked Luis Vargas from Circle K because he volunteered to help with all of the events and he always showed up, and helped out wherever needed. SSCCC is the Regional Senate Conference for the whole area of Southern California. We have student senators come to the SSCCC from several colleges. We will have four students that will represent Santa Ana College. If you are interested in being one of the four students that gets to go to the SSCCC Conference this semester, please contact Daniel Marquez right away in the Student Life Office. Linda mentioned that three committees are now forming. If you will like to be part of the Halloween committee, the Spot Committee or Publicity Committee, please contact Daniel Marquez or Luis Mejia (Activities Commissioner). Another committee that is coming up is the ASG Constitution Revision Committee. It does require time and commitment. There is a wireless system change going on in the ASG / ICC offices. In order to use the internet, you will need to check out a wireless adapter from our Student Life office.. You have to go through their offices or through 1 of the four leaders; ICC President, ASG President, ASG Chief Justice and ASG Vice-President. You need to come in and sign in for an adapter because there have been issues with inappropriate usage of the internet. 3

4 Advisor Reports (Cont.) It was also mentioned that there are social media links available on the SAC website for ICC and ASG. She also said that we have some handouts available if you have any further questions. Linda talked about the Leave-A-Legacy Program. Leave-A-Legacy provides funding for departments or programs here at SAC. Applications are available and are due on the 19 th. This is only for staff or faculty to apply. If you know or think that some department needs the funding talk to them about Leave-A-Legacy so they have a chance to win. The winners will be announced on October 25 th. There will be a ceremony for the winners on November 7 th in The Spot. There is a special election today in a little while. Each club representative will get one ballot. The main ICC Rep, or Alternate Rep is the one that should vote. If he/she is not here, another (designated) club officer can vote. Linda also said that the club paperwork for clubs to be registered was on September 28 th at noon. Many of the clubs brought in their paper work in the last hour Regarding Club Constitutions & By-Laws: Most of you did not filled out the back page This will not keep your club from being ratified, but you will need to complete this. When she gets to your club (review), she will tell you what she needs from you and from you club officers. Remember that you cannot hold two positions in your club. Regarding student stickers, your officers should already have come in with their ID s & stickers. If one or two officers have not yet come in to photocopy theirs, your club may be ratified, but you will need to get those officers to come in asap to bring in their ID and sticker. If an officer is not qualify you will have two weeks to find a new one, otherwise your club will be on hold until you find the officer(s) that meet the criteria. There are two club ratifications today: Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and International Student Association. We will ratify them in a little while. Hopefully by next week we will have more clubs to ratify. Advisor Breakfast is on the 12 th of this month. Make sure your advisors have the flyer. They need to let Linda know by this Friday if they are attending. Linda mentioned that Spirit Day was a very successful event. She thanked everyone that went and supported the event. She also shouted out to JC Martinez for cheering and having so much energy during the event. Although an air pot was broken at the coffee cart, and we will have to pay $50 for it, everything came out great To conclude with her report, Linda mentioned that the new officer training session on October 5 th will be cancelled and later rescheduled. People signed up for the two sessions on September 26 th, but never showed up. Only one person showed up out of seven. You do have to be considerate and commit to everything that you sign up for. If you can t make it to an event/workshop, you need to call or to cancel. OLD BUSINESS ICC Spirit Day: Went very well. There were a lot of students and club members cheering and having fun, and supporting the football team (and other teams). ASG & ICC Websites and Social Media: Links social media are now available through SAC s main ASG page. Check it out and found out what is happing in ASG and in ICC. The Social Medias available are Facebook and Twitter. 4

5 OLD BUSINESS (Cont.) Clubs and Communication Make sure you take all the information that you learn about in the ICC meetings back to your club officers. It is very important that you communicate with your officers so that your club can get the information. New Club Officer Orientations The sessions are cancelled due to people not showing up for the sessions that they signed-up for (on Sept. 26). They might be re-scheduled once people show interest in committing to attending the sessions. NEW BUSINESS Club Ratifications: There are two clubs to be ratified today: Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and International Student Association. Rene Del Toro (Equalogy) motioned to ratify the clubs above. Sandra De Los Santos (Student Actors Studio Club) second the motion. Approved unanimously. Special Election: Today an ICC Special Election was held to elect a new ICC President, ICC Vice-President, ICC Treasurer, and ICC Public Relations Representative. Vice- President Eduardo Lopez resigned his position as ICC Vice-President, effective after today s ICC meeting, due to his candidacy for ICC President. Eduardo Lopez and Frank Perkins ran for the ICC President position. Gabriel Gonzalez and Vanessa Rodas ran for the ICC Vice- President position. Ana Loeza ran for the ICC Public Relations position (she was not present for the election). Each candidate had the opportunity to speak for 3 minutes regarding their qualifications for their candidacy positions. After the candidates had all had the opportunity to speak, ICC Representatives were called up, one from each club, to receive a ballot, sign the election roster, and vote. In all, 22 ballots were voted. The ratio of 2/3 of all club representatives was required to hold the election. At the time of this meeting, there were twenty-seven clubs represented in the Inter-Club Council. Therefore, eighteen representatives had to be present for this election to move forward. This number was surpassed and the election was held. ICC Budget for There were two versions of the ICC budget proposed. The ICC was allocated $8000 for the school year by the Associated Student Government. The first version of the ICC budget subtracted $1000 from the category of Funding for Clubs/Events/Conferences from the amount allocated to this category in previous years. This brought the amount to $2000, instead of $3000, and this version allowed $600 for funding for the fall ICC Fair. Version One (1) of the ICC Budget also included a Contingency fund of $290. Version Two (2) of the ICC Budget eliminated funding for the fall ICC Fair, and increased the Funding for Clubs/Events/Conferences by $500, which totaled $2500 to be allocated to that category. This also increased the Contingency fund for budget version two(2) by an additional $100 to a total of $390. All other budget categories were identical in both versions of the budget proposed. By a show of hands, the twenty club representatives present voted as follows: Voting ICC Budget-Version 1: 3 votes ICC Budget-Version 2: 17 votes Rene Del Toro (Equalogy Club) motioned to approve the ICC Budget-Version 2. Sandra de Los Santos (Student Actors Studio Club) second the motion. ICC Budget Version 2 was approved unanimously. The budget for ICC, as approved, for the school year is as follows (by category): New Club Funding: ($100 x 10 clubs): $ ICC Achievement Awards ($200 x 10 Awards): $ Funding for Clubs/Events/Conferences/Etc.: $ Office Supplies: Paper, Ink Cartridges, etc. $

6 NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) ICC Budget for Cont Club Rush Fall 2012 & Spring 2013 $ Club Banners (Vista Prints) $ Fall 2012 Spirit Day Event (Vendors, Snacks, etc.) $ Fall 2012 Paints /Paint Containers, Markers $ Fall 2012 Adopt-A-Family Gift Card $ Fall 2012 ASG/ICC Holiday Party $ Fall 2012 ASG Toy Drive / PAAL Program $ Spring 2013 Paints/Paint Containers / Markers $ Spring 2013 ICC Spring Fest ($20 per club/28 clubs) $ Contigency Fund $ Club Registration Process: Club Appeal Club Gaming Fixx appealed to the ICC and asked if they could have the opportunity to turn in their paperwork late in order to get ratified. The president of Club Gaming Fixx gave an explanation of why he wasn t able to turn in the paperwork on time. After that it was the decision of the ICC representatives to decide whether or not they will give Club Gaming Fixx the opportunity turn in their paperwork late. They all agreed and gave the club the opportunity to turn in their paperwork late. Sandra de los Santos (Student Actors Studios Club) motioned to let Club Gaming Fixx turn in their paperwork late. Huyen Nguyen (Christian Students at SAC) Second the motion. Approved unanimously.
