3 The Mooseletter VOLUME 5, ISSUE 2 Feburary 2018 Brothers and Co-workers, It is hard to believe that we are already a month into This year is already flying by. In January I attended the Mid-Year Conference in Norfolk, VA. This was an exciting event, and packed full of information. If you have the chance to attend a conference you should, there is so much happening, and so many opportunities to share ideas and knowledge and learn between lodges. I look forward to sharing this information with our lodge in our meetings. I want to extend a personal thank you all of members, your participation recently in the lodge and it's functions has not gone unnoticed. I am excited to see members returning, you have been missed, and I am even more excited to see all the new Brothers and Co-workers joining. It is truly making Ashland the place to be once again, and on behalf of my self, the board, and lodge, I say thank you. February is shaping up to be a terrific month for Ashland. There are so many activities planned, I don't know if I can mention them all, but I will say check your newsletter carefully and all the flyers included and don't miss out on any of them. Our 1st biggest activity for the month, is the Mooseheart/Moosehaven Rocker Campaign. This will run the entire month of February. I have already been told the "game" is on between the LOOM and the WOTM. So stop by the Social Quarters and make your donation and put your name on a rocker, lets fill the mirror in the Social Quarters. On Saturday, February 10th, is our Valentine's dance featuring Pasty and the Country Classics. This is an excellent band, see flyer enclosed. Our dance is reaching more and more people, it was mentioned in the Caroline Progress as well as announced on the Stained Glass Reflections show on FM. We will have a night to remember, please make every effort to attend. Tickets on sale in the Social Quarters and available at the door. The WOTM have a Line Dance Class and Open Dance planned for Saturday, February 24th. This should be a night of great music, and fun, see flyer enclosed. Please come help support the WOTM. There are several other activities planned, a football party, a birthday party, and the list just keeps growing, so check your newsletter closely. In closing, our lodge, is not just a bar, but a family center, we plan all activities trying to plan something for everyone. Please do not hesitate to give us feedback or suggestion. BUT, how do you do that, ATTEND our meetings. Brothers and Co-workers, we have weekly meetings, and an open town hall each and every month. Come be a part of our lodge, and let's work together to make Ashland the #1 Moose on the #1 Highway. Fraternally yours, Mike Davis Acting Governor

5 Hello February & WOTM I would like to thank all the members who have been coming out to the lodge lately. It has been nice seeing each one of you here. The more people the more fun. Keep coming in to support your lodge and bring your friends. Norfolk convention was very informative as usual. Our speaker Sandra Thompson was a lot of fun. She kept the room laughing and wanting to hear more of her stories. If your dues are to expire in March, we would like to offer you a free dinner for all members who pay early by the end of February. This is a great incentive for you to pay early and for us to get a chance to see some of you at the lodge who haven't been in a while. We would love to see you here again enjoying all the events we have planned. Upcoming events for February - see flyers for more details. 4th - Superbowl party, bring a dish and watch the game with us. 10th - Valentine's dance, grab a friend or a date and have a blast with us. 18th - WOTM lunch and a movie at 1pm. This is a great chance to get to know the ladies chapter and make some new friends or catch up with old ones. 24th - Country Line Dance. Lessons and then a dance. Open to the public. Bring all your line dancing friends. Want to learn how to line dance, this is the place to be. Please read your March newsletter for events for March and April. Lots of things happening for everyone. We have elections coming up in April if anyone is interested in serving on the board of officers or would like to hold a committee chair, please get with one of the WOTM for more information. Our moosette of the month is Pat Johnson. Sincerely Cynthia Stanley Sr. Regent Greetings from the Social Quarters. We are busy planning so many activities for our lodge, we hope that you will take every opportunity to support our lodge and participate. We are trying the plan something for everyone. We have so many things happening in the next few months. There will be flyers for all functions in your newsletter as well as we will be updating the Facebook Group as often as possible. My staff and and myself would like to personally thank each and every member for their support of our lodge. We have notice a significant increase in the Social Quarters, and we want to say a full heart felt THANK YOU to each and every person who has made this possible. Our goal is to make every member and their guests feel at home, safe, and relaxed. Our lodge is a family center, not a bar. Activities are planned with the provision that everyone be included. The strength of our lodge is based on member participation, so in everything we do we aim to put our members first. Our staff is working tirelessly to make you feel welcomed, appreciated, and happy. As February is the month for love, lets put the past in the past, have a clean fresh start, and make the Social Quarters at the Ashland Moose Family Center the place to be each and every night. We look forward to seeing you soon!!! Check your calendar and flyers for all the fun that is planned. Fraternally yours, Eddie Gibson Social Quarters Manager
