Well, at least we're working on getting is one done and published on time is mon! July has been a busy Moose mon. We started e mon wi e Moose International Convention in Tampa. It was a wonderful experience. It began wi a speech from Valedictorian, James Ranum of our Child City Mooseheart; ogling over a handsome Marine in his dress blues (also a previous Mooseheart graduate) as he shared his experiences serving his Country. We met some of e Rambler football players (who, by e way, went undefeated last season!), listened to e Mooseheart drum line, and shared e nine o'clock prayer wi six of e children from Mooseheart's Baby Village. All is and it was only e opening ceremony! As usual we learned a lot about our Twin Cities Mooseheart and Moosehaven and came back wi a renewed conviction to support our kids and seniors. Sadly, we were flying home on July 4, but heard e Lodge had a wonderful turn out of members and family for e picnic and e weaer cooperated for a lovely day. Thank you to all e ladies at contributed baked goods for our bake sale, and for all of you members at generously purchased goodies to satisfy your sweet too. Your participation is very much appreciated. Moving on to July 14, our movie man, Bob Fleck showed Captain America on e big screen in e park complete wi surround sound. What a great time and a great movie. Angie covered e stage wi pop ups to keep everyone warm and dry, and Dale and Jeannie ran e Keg Barn complete wi beverages, hot dogs, candy and of course eatre style buttered pop corn! Better an e drive-in and great companions too. Thank you all for a wonderful evening. Members, keep your eyes on e calendar for an August movie night in e park, YOU won't want to miss it! nd Rounding e corner to July 22, we filled our bellies and danced into e evening to e sounds of California Elixer and guests. Coordinated by Ginny Stigen wi e help of many of our WOTM members and LOOM members we enjoyed an amazing day in e park and had a successful fundraiser. The food was outstanding. Thank you to all e ladies at donated salads and baked goods, and of course to all you members who once again assisted our Chapter by purchasing event tickets and buying our baked goods. Wiout e wonderful support of our members we could not succeed. I would be remiss wiout a special acknowledgement to our cooks Dan & Patty Donaldson. For ose of you fortunate enough to have joined us I'm sure you will agree ey did a superb job smoking e pork, chicken and corn on a cob. Thank you Dan & Patty for all your hard work cooking and serving. We extend our gratitude to California Elixer for keeping e dance floor full and generously donating eir fees back to our fundraiser! Not to be forgotten, ank to all e members bo men and women at made is event a success by volunteering eir time to set up, clean up, cook and everying in between you know who you are, and so do we, ank you for all you do, you ROCK! Check e calendar for upcoming events. August is anoer full mon of dinners, bands, Bunco, breakfasts, line dance classes, crafters, movies, and so much more. Oh, in case you've missed it e pool table was repaired (ank you, Howard) so come in bring family and friends and enjoy a game of pool (except on Tuesday & Friday). st rd WOTM meetings are held 1 and 3 Wednesday each mon at 7 PM, join us, have some fun and share your ideas. A special Friendship Ceremony will be held on August 15 at 7PM. This is open to all members (LOOM and WOTM) to be followed by dinner and opportunity drawing. Show your support for our new Friends and join us. So much for short and sweet, but many of you miss ese events and I want you to know how much fun you're missing. We realize life is busy and it's hard to do it all, but you won't find a more fun group of men and women to spend time wi. Come out enjoy your Chapter and your Lodge, you'll be glad you did. (1-13) Fraternally, Charly Papp Sr. Regent
3 Monly Birday Celebration We have a monly Birday cake event at e Lodge. There is a sign up sheet at e bar for ose of you at would like to help sponsor a mon, and purchase a Birday cake to be shared at e Lodge. At e nine o'clock prayer break, everyone who has a Birday in e mon will be acknowledged. Please choose a mon at is special to you and join in e celebration fun. Cake evening is e 2nd Friday night of each mon. Thanks for signing up and helping out. (8-13) (4-12) Member Marlene Lew Woodbury NOTARY PUBLIC (1-13) MAR-JON REAL ESTATE 1209 ARMSTRONG CIRCLE ESCONDIDO, CA (760) FAX (760) Broers and Sisters (Coworkers); Well as you can see, if you look at e calendar, at we are trying to have more activities on Saturdays. Hopefully e Lodge will develop into a popular place to be on e 6 day of e work week. We also had a "Movie Night in e Park" on e 14 and watched "Captain America." We had a great 4 of July picnic and we missed YOU. The WOTM sponsored "Jammin in e Park" picnic on e 22nd. In fact we had and a full calendar of meals, bands, bunko, crafting and even belly dancing lessons. Where were YOU??? By e time you get is letter we will have had our "State of e Lodge Report." Hopefully YOU were ere. If so, YOU now know how important YOU are. We are a service organization oriented to e family and support you and e elderly as well as oer community functions. We do is and have fun accomplishing our goals and commitments. When I say "WE" I am talking about YOU. YOU are e core of our organization, e heart of e fraternity, e soul of our commitment and wiout YOU we will fail. Every individual member matters and we desire your input. Don't use rumors as your source of information, come to your Lodge meetings. I know we all have obligations and time and money is scarce. So use is lodge and support it so at we can continue to provide entertainment, meals and social functions at a reasonable cost. Thanks for e support at you have provided. I hope to see everyone more often. You may have noticed e work continuing around e Lodge. Because of e superb monetary help from e Women Of The Moose, by e time you read is e painting of e exterior of e Lodge should be well under way. In at vein, is upgrade of e facility happens because people have put time and effort into e project. Members like Bobby Garcia, Howard VanDuzer, Mik McDonald, and a few oers make it happen. Bob & Angie Fleck keep e park in great shape for all to use. Bob is our projectionist on movie nights. I am looking for more members to step up and bring eir talents forward to help e Lodge. On a serious note, we really need people to cook dinners, breakfast, burgers etc. We are at e point where many of e volunteers have oer responsibilities. It is fun to be on a cook team but it does take time. I must say at if we don't develop a few more teams e Friday night meals, breakfast as well as e oer meals may not occur. You don't have to be a chef, just willing to help once in a while. Thanks for all at you do, Dan Papp Lodge 1874 Bulletin Subscription Please send me a monly copy of e Lodge bulletin via US Postal Service for e period of August 1, 2012 rough August 1, Attached or enclosed is my Cash 9 Check 9 Money Order 9 in e amount of $6.00 for is subscription.
