I hope everyone enjoyed the Fair, looked like an excellent turn out. Thanks to everyone who showed up! I have heard quite a lot of positive feedback from different people who saw the cars. I enjoyed the Tour to the Prairie Grange: good music (thanks Tom), good food (thanks everyone), and a chance to ride/drive a steam engine (it is more difficult than a T). It was a nice day! My car did not run well coming home, maybe it was jealous? Well, October is the time to nominate club officers for next year. Good luck everyone! Hutch - 2 -

3 Minutes from the Last Club Meeting September 1, 2017 Meeting was cancelled due to everyone on vacation and not enough officers on-hand to hold a proper meeting. 5 T Club at the Spokane Fair A Fun Time For All... This year, the Spokane Interstate Fair has embarked on a new annual event for the Spokane area car clubs. The fair typically runs for 10 days each year, including two weekends. Car clubs were invited to attend the fair for a one day showing at the fair, displaying their cars in an entertaining and educational setting. The fair committee selects a common theme and each club presentation will be in competition for the best car display. (Unfortunately, the Fair cancelled the idea at the very last-minute.) This year s theme was ROUTE 66, commemorating the 66th anniversary of the Spokane Interstate Fair, and our Model T Club was asked to be the opening day car club. The T Club s participating cars were on display from 9:30 AM till 8:00 PM and with most of the participating car owners dressed in period costumes and mulling around to answer fair go-er s questions. We had 22 cars on display in chronological order to show the transformation of the Ford Automobile from Carl and Patty Walden s 1904 Model C, and Rick & Carla Carnegie's 1907 Model "N", and 20 Model T's from 1910 through To support the Route 66 theme, several members researched the 20 s through mid-60 s era by creating about a dozen Berma-Shave advertising slogans positioned in individual planter pots amongst the 22 cars. As can be seen in the photos of our display, we were quite a hit. It was obvious that non-grayhaired people were not familiar with Berma-Shave, so we did our best to educate them. The fair committee even asked our club to come back for Saturday s showing, with only 8 cars for the second day showing. We still received hundreds of compliments on our display. The T Club wants to thank all participants for displaying their cars, being in period costumes, passing on to younger generations all the Model T folk-lore, and helping with the set-up and tear-down of our fantastic display. A special thanks go to Jeff Hipp for his help with all the signage and to Matt Hanson, Darrell Skomer, and many others for helping with the planning and set-up / tear-down of the Burma-Shave signs It was a lot of fun and hopefully our club will participate again next year. The original motor has oil and still turns over. The running gear is complete, trunk pan is intact and has lid, has seat springs, radiator with motometer, windshield bracket with wiper, original wheels, etc. The only parts I know that are missing are the starter, one headlight ring and one top bracket.
