1 MG CONNECTION EASTERN WASHINGTON, NORTHWEST IDAHO The President s Message By Stephanie Routt I wish to thank Dave for handling the meeting this past month; from the minutes all seemed to go well. I see we have two drives coming up, hope all the cars are ready for a great event. The treasurer s report shows we still are flush with funds to help offset some cost for club events. Our membership is down from last year, but gaining new members. The big event next month, scheduled for April 28th & 29th, is the garage sale at Jim and Sue Holloway s home, located in the Camelot development. All items should be priced, and if you can show up to help pricing and setup, or on the day of the sale, it will insure the sale to be a success. Items like cloths, toys, tools, and misc is what we would need. For any items that do not sell and you want them back, you may retrieve them Sunday night. I will be running the monthly meeting and Marlene will be at the sale. On a final note if you do not want your items back, let it be known, and I will make a trip to Goodwill to donate them. If you have some historical photos of the club of days gone past, get them to Bob Hughes so we can share them in the monthly newsletter. Thank you all for attending the meetings, I know the weather plays a part in getting out on a Saturday morning; hopefully we can do a dinner get together, and make a drive out of it also. 2 INLAND EMPIRE MG CLASSICS NEWSLETTER APRIL 2018 The Camelot Neighborhood Garage Sale April 28th & 29th, 8am to 5pm This is an annual neighborhood garage sale that attracts thousands of people! Jim & Sue Holloway have graciously offered the use of their driveway for club members to sell items as a fundraiser for the club. ANYTHING that you wish to sell will be accepted (does not need to be car-related). Their address is 620 E Roundtable Circle, which is located in North Spokane off of Highway 2 (see map below). They ask that members drop off items on the Thursday before. If that doesn t work, please call them at and they ll make other arrangements. It would be helpful if your items are already marked with a price, but if you aren't sure what to price them at, Jim & Sue can help you mark them. Set-up for the garage sale will take place on Friday the 27th. They welcome anyone who would like to help with the setup on Friday, and/or with the sale during the weekend. PAGE 2

4 Details on the proposed 7-day trip, led and organized by Charles Brennan "THE BEARTOOTH CHALLENGE" If we have at least five members (cars) willing to commit to this drive, I will put together information with for trip - motels, etc. I will need a commitment by the first of May at the latest, as some of the areas we will be traveling through are busy with tourists--not that we won't be. We will depart on the 10th of September - most school kids and parents will be home and this will cut down on traffic for us through the parks, the fall color should be starting in the higher elevations, the weather is mild and should pose no problems for us. Monday September 10th - depart, arrive Butte, MT for layover. Tuesday September 11th - depart Butte for layover in Red Lodge, MT. Wednesday September 12th - depart Red Lodge, climb the Beartooth Pass, overnight in Cody, WY. Thursday September 13th - remain in Cody, visit the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody firearms Museum, Witney Western Art Museum, Fredrick Remington bronze collection and more. Friday September 14th - depart Cody and luncheon at Old Faithful Lodge, visit Quake Lake, on to Ennis, MT for our layover. Saturday September 15th - Depart Ennis, visit Lewis and Clarke Caverns, overnight in Missoula, MT. Sunday September 16th - Head for Home. 6 MARCH Meeting Minutes Meeting at Conley s Restaurant called to order by Dave Ronnfeldt, Vice President, at 8:45 am. It was a snowy morning with just 15 attendees. Treasurer s report was given by Dave Madison. Membership Chairman Rosanne Ronnfeldt confirmed that the most current Membership Roster was ed to members in early March. 49 paid members YTD. New members Craig & Kathy Montagne were introduced and Craig said a few words about his MGA Roadster. Old Business: Insurance: Club insurance policy evaluation and renewal has been completed. Christmas Party venue: The Treasurer sent in the deposit check to hold the Friday, 12/7/18 date at the Spokane Valley Event Center... mark your calendar. Website: Thad Hopper revamped the website that looks great. There have been over 200 hits so far. View it at Garage sale with proceeds going to the club: Look for details in the Newsletter. April 28-29, Sat & Sun 8am 5pm. Jim & Sue Holloway s driveway will be the host site to coincide with their neighborhood putting on Camelot Days. It will be helpful to provide pricing info for donated items. Merchandise not sold will be given to a charity like Union Gospel Mission. Club Historian: Send Bob Hughes any pictures of past events that you wish to share with the group. Send to mgabob@comcast.net New Business: Business Cards: Dan Vollmer updated the format. Cards were passed around for attendees to take a few to put in their wallet to hand out to people interested in the Club or put on car windshields. Drives: April 22 Gumball Rally starting in Ritzville. It is a 200 mile drive open to all vehicles; follow-the-leader poker run with a trivia sheet to fill out. Dan & Marilyn Vollmer are going. May 27 Spokane River Bridge challenge. Dan Vollmer will lead this run. He has been monitoring a website for construction work in the area and the Memorial weekend time frame appears clear. Raffle: 50/50 Raffle... $35.00 won by Juanell Brennan. Mark Elmore donated back to the raffle the book Improve and Modify the MGB by Porter & Pollard; it was won by Dave Madison.
