3 THERE IS NO JULY MEETING. Our next meeting will be the AUGUST POTLUCK at Lee Burgess. The SEPTEMBER regular monthly meeting begins at 7:30 PM on the 1ST Friday in September at the Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 North Pines, Spokane Valley, WA. A reminder for anyone wishing to join other T Club members for the regular pre-meeting dinner that it will be at 5:30-6:00 PM at Conley's Restaurant next to the White Elephant just east of Pines at E. Sprague in September in Spokane Valley. We hope to see you there! Spokane Model T Club Minutes June 1, 2012 Meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by President Mike Robison. Welcoming Committee - Mike Stormo. Welcome to new member, Diana's brother, Steve LaBelle. Vice President Jamie Allen: We have Swap meet spaces #113, and #115. Thursday setup. Secretary's Report: Motion was made, seconded, and passed to accept the May meeting minutes as printed in the Fender Chatter. Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Betty Patterson read the report. The Speedster Run for Charity was a success and there will be money for charity. The $600 "seed money" was paid back to the treasury. Motion was made, seconded and passed to approve report. Bills for coffee, envelops, roster, and photos was presented to the treasurer. Motion made, seconded and approved to pay the bills. Committee Reports: Tours: Hal Moffit: Safe-T Inspection at the Skidmores went well and had a good turnout. Larry says same time next year. Mike Robison reported on the "Family Farm Tour" They drank whole fresh milk, learned about some of the difficulties of competing with big dairies and enjoyed seeing all the newborn animals. Tom C reported on the Civil War re-enactment that several people attended on Saturday during preparations for the Speedster run. Speedster run went well with the help of a lot of the club members. Well attended with 27 entries. We also had participation from the Model A club and the V8 club. Mike S. suggested that we have a day run with the Model A and V8 clubs later in the year. 5 June 12 for the 2012 Spokane Braille Rally! Lighthouse for the Blind The rain on Saturday, June 9th could not dampen the spirits of the 16 drivers and navigators who participated in the 2012 Spokane Braille Rally. After a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by Andrea Godard and a rousing Call To Position by Spokane Mayor David Condon (check out the podcast below for audio), the rally teams drove a competitive 53-mile course through the Spokane area, starting and ending at Inland Northwest Lighthouse. The teams consisted of a sighted driver and a blind or visually impaired navigator, who read the course directions in braille. Spokane Braille Rally shared a link via The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. The 2012 Spokane Braille Rally was a winner! This fun and exciting fundraiser inspired over $15,000 in donations in support of making jobs accessible to over 50 blind and visually impaired employees at INL. Highlights included a firemen s breakfast, a fun run, children s parade, a grand parade and entertainment and vendors in Thiel Park all day.
