Photographers just love our Mr. Whiteley. They must know that he s one of Their Kind. Here he is in that famous uniform of his (no doubt the paddy wagon is lurking nearby). One of these days, that museum of his is going to have a real home and we ll all get out our best vintage duds and wheels to christen it. Maybe we ll get our pictures taken too! In the meantime, he ll make our little headlines as well as the big ones. Big Turnout For Safety Check Hello Fellow Ters: Safety inspection has gone by. It was a great turnout. We had 32 cars show up. The Ruckstell was sold to club member Chuck Oakland. I got an original exhaust pipe that I sniped from Harvey Dunham, which was a very tricky feat. (Part of the President s address) Once again, the Skidmores returned from sunnier climes to play gracious hosts to ravenous auto inspectors, auction goers, and just plain partiers. We always want to thank Larry and Norma for opening their home and garage to us all for this annual rite of spring.

(continued from page one ) Some of you may or may not have heard that I blew my motor up for the third time, but I got it all put back together again. It s not running quite as strong as it was, but I hope it will, once the rings seat. Past President Gene Kicha thinks it blew up because I used funny fuel AKA nitro. He should have checked the gas can before he handed it to me. Advice for the day: don t poke baby skunks with sticks and don t blow on bee hives. See you at the next meeting. President Mike Robison.
3 JUNE Page 3 Minutes for the May 6th, 2005 Meeting Inland Empire Model T Ford Club: HIP HIPP HOORAY THIS CARD HAS TO BE SEEN TO BE AP- PRECIATED THE T CLUB HAS ITS NEWEST MEMBER: PARKER JOSEPH HIPP Born Feb. 21, weighing in at 7 lbs 13 oz, I figure he s about double that by now, but it probably took dad about this long to create the announcement between feedings and diaper changes. (All grandparents join me in evil laughter.) But we do certainly congratulate Jeff and Tammy, our members farthest from Spokane on his new bundle of joy and expect baby-related cartoons to arrive on milk-spattered CD s anytime now. Most of us know and have bought a part or two from Rudy Saarela. I was sorry to learn that he has developed serious heart trouble and, while not fatal, has had to sell his business and retire. Steve Tomasso of the Portland speedster club purchased it and will be taking up the checkered flag where Rudy left off. Anything you purchased from Rudy, you may now buy from Steve or stevests@webtv.net. In the meantime, say a prayer or send a card to Rudy. FOR SALE: 27 TUDOR IN RUNNING CONDI- TION $5,500 Shahn Divorne (253) President Mike Robison called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mark Hutchinson welcomed Betty Green and Steve Lisa. The Vice President Lee Burgess had no news. There was a motion and a second to approve the minutes as written in Fender Chatter. Allen Henzen gave the Treasurer and Website reports. Thee was no sunshine report. Lee Burgess gave the Safety and Seminars Report. Rick Carnegie presented the Tour Chairman s Report. The Fender Chatter Report was given by Marith M. There were no news in the Roster report or the Photographer report. The advisor Harvey Dunham resigned. Charlie Almeda gave the Blood Bank report and the Car Club Council report. Old Business: The Bylaw Committee has met and is working. The T-shirt committee gave a report. New Business: We discussed the Road Cleanup and watched the safety video. The meeting was adjourned at 8:17 pm. Secretary, Jillian Caples Dick Grosch would like to thank everyone for the cards, letters and calls he received while he was ill. He was you all to know that they were much appreciated. He also wants you to know, and I quote, I m doing much better, Dick
4 PAGE 4 JUNE Ah, insurance fraud. It appeared as soon as the institution did. The car was merely a new means to an end. However, everyone had to understand how the game was played. The automobile certainly added new spice to the affair. This is a cartoon from a 1928 issue of the Chicago Tribune
5 PAGE 5 June 11 Food Drive: JUNE Allen is pleased to announce that the Tidyman s event scheduled to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank is shaping up very well indeed, but everyone s help is needed. 7up and Oldies 101 have signed on as sponsors and the goal for the car show event is 300 cars. This event is listed on the INNW calendar and win win for the food bank because admission to the show is $10 cash or $5 and 5 cans of food. Second Harvest gets every penny. This is a lean, efficient organization doing a tough job in a hungry town. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that they are feeding the working poor with children and the elderly not welfare frauds and slackers. For this reason, we all need to try very hard to make this event the best it can be. Suzie, as you know, has made a wonderful quilt to be raffled at 50 cents a ticket and tee shirts will be available for $15. Some of that money will go back to the club as a reward for their work, the rest also going to the Food Bank. Support this event with your car, your money, and your time....in as much as you have done this unto the least of these you have done it unto Me JC (the Bible) Hi there, i t s c a m p o u t t i m e! The "T" campout is June 11th. Meet at 3 pm. Tidymans parking lot after Stacys food bank Drive. It will be at Deer lake Resort. There is lots of room to roam. Bring something to share (Food) for Saturday night. And your own camp gear (chairs, utensils, plates, smore making material, and your own drinks). Sunday morning we will get gas and have breakfast (if your Rick, Have breakfast and get gas). And Joe Swanson will lead us on a tour to (being Sunday) only God Knows where? Because Joe Don't. The tour up to Deer lake will be on good slightly used road with little or no highway. If you want a cabin, I recommend that you make reservations. You can call (509) or d e e r l a k e r e s o r s i s n a. c o m Please Rsvp Joe Swanson or Dave Robison (we are in the roster) M o r e i n f o r m a t i o n a t t h e J u n e m e e t i n g. Seems like a pretty clean garage to me. That might be a spot of oil over there. I hear he s putting in central vacuum and hiring a full time cleaning service. When do we eat? All this thinking makes me hungry.

You will recall seeing the paperwork in your newsletter several month ago. The following week is the Spokane Swap Meet. Your attendance and willing hands are always solicited, working in our stall and for the V8 club. Show up and by all means, have fun!
