Members present: Sue and Tom Spencer, Earl and Mary Reiling, George and Joan Strong, Paul and Marge Purple, Tom McNamara, Ed and Pat Greene, Surrena Gould, Chris Skinner, Darrel and Pat Whitman, Tom and Joan Evans, Bob Gordon, Jeanie Selby and Richard Zigmont. Visitors present: Terry Enoch Davis Meeting called to order at 2:00 PM by President Richard Zigmont. Thank you to Chris and Surrena for hosting the meeting at their garage. Motion to accept minutes from the last meeting made by Tom Evans and second by Darrel Whitman. Accepted. Treasurer s Report: Tom Spencer reported we still have a balance of $ as no money has come in or gone out. Sunshine: Mary Reiling reported that a get well card was sent to Paul Purple, a sympathy card was sent to R. Zigmont, and a sympathy card was send to Bob Brady. VP Report: Ed Greene reported that we haven t had any sales, but we have plenty of T-shirts and hats available. Please let him or Pat know if you would like something and he will bring it to the next meeting. Ed also wanted to mention that there were some folded $1.00 bills. They are pretty amazing and were out for our entertainment. Chris Skinner introduced his neighbor, who is also a juggler, and then gave some information about the land on which his home is located. R. Zigmont introduced Terry Davis, a visitor who is a model truck collector and may be interested in joining our club. Old Business: Truck Show R. Zigmont would like to remind all members to pre-register for the show. We have already had a few pre-registrations. It will run much more smoothly the days of the show if we have pre-registrations. Minutes continued on page 2

2 Minutes continued from page 1 Copies of the flyers to advertise the show have been made in color, as well as black and white. We ask that the color flyers be used to hang up in businesses around the area. Black and white copies can be used to pass out to individuals at truck shows, etc. Please take some and hang them around town and pass them out. We ask that members sign up to volunteer. We have time slots to make it easier. You can volunteer on one day, or both days. R. Zigmont asked if there was any news from the other two clubs. T. Spencer reported that he does not have much to report, but there are upcoming meetings and he will make contact with them. T. Spencer also wanted to remind members to sign up to volunteer at the show. R. Zigmont also added that you may come up to him, Tom, or Jeanie the day of the show to find out what needs to be done or how you can help. This year s show should run much smoother. There will be no silly extras. The food vendor worked out well. T. Spencer is looking to get an ice cream vendor. Terry Davis mentioned he know someone with an ice cream truck and relay the information to him. Programs are being put together for the show. T. Spencer says the intent is to sell enough ads for the program to cover the costs of the printing and the fairgrounds. He has gotten a quote of $400/ 250 programs in black and white. There will be 20 pages in the program and will be 8 ½ x 11 folded in half. We should have approximately 16 pages to sell advertising. At $100/page, that would cover all costs and leave us with a nice profit. The size of the ads can range from President Twin Tiers Chapter Officers Richard Zigmont 9 Ronan Street, Binghamton, NY (607) rzigmont@stny.rr.com Vice President Ed Greene 20 Skyline Drive, Barton, NY (607) Secretary Treasurer Sunshine Jeanie Selby 9 Ronan Street, Binghamton, NY (607) jselby001@stny.rr.com Tom Spencer 876 Teeter Road, Owego, NY (607) Mary Reiling 326 NYS Rt. 7, Afton, NY (607) business card size to a full page. We can accept hard or digital copies of advertisements, whatever is easiest for the individual. We have forms for advertising. The program will also have information about our clubs. Tom Evans has written the information about our club and will pass it on to Jeanie. We may also like to have a page on International. T. Spencer wanted all to know that he has the insurance forms from the other two clubs. Everyone is covered. Calendars were brought up. We still have many calendars left to sell. The price will be dropped to $5. It was discussed whether or not we should print calendars this year. Some members like to have them. A motion was made by Darrel Whitman to print 50 calendars this year. Second by Bob Gordon. Passed. Jeanie will put it together and will make sure year and make of truck are included as well as the owner s name. Bob Gordon gave some more information about the JC Partners Group cruise-ins. He said the first one was well attended with approximately vehicles there. There s plenty of room for trucks. They are the 3 rd Thursday of every month. Sales Newsletter 2 Ed and Pat Greene (607) twintier@quixnet.net (607) New Business: The Twin Tiers website is up and running. The URL is Minutes continued on page 3

3 Minutes continued from page 2 Paul Purple wanted to thank Mary and everyone for the card. He is feeling much better now after his bladder cancer surgery. Everything is ok. T. Spencer made a motion to buy a $100 full page, black and white ad in the CNY show program for our show. The CNY show is July 14 th and will reach more people. Second by Darrel Whitman. Passed. Open Discussion: Tom Spencer said the tractor club went to see Don Merrill s museum. He has a building and a house full of stuff. Several members said it may be something we should go see. Tom Evans is looking for Dayton Wheels, tube type, 20 6 ½ x 20. He is also looking for a furniture van as he would like it for storage. NEXT MEETING: Please note that the next meeting is on the 4 th Sunday of June Sunday, June 23 rd at 2:00 Steve Carmon s place. With Memorial Day weekend came the unofficial start to summer. Hopefully, summer means the weather will be nice so we can all enjoy the truck shows in and around our area. Hanging out with truck buddies and checking out trucks we do not normally get to see is a great way to spend a day. If you plan to go to other shows, please make sure to take flyers to pass out and display to advertise our own Twin Tiers show in August! I am planning on pre-registering for our show and I ask that all members do the same. It can get a little backed up at the registration table on the day of the show, so it is best that we take care of our own stuff ahead of time. We have attached a registration form for your convenience. We also have a program ad form for you to use to sell advertisements. Call me or Tom Spencer with any questions. Thank you to all the members who have signed up to volunteer so far. Our show depends on the volunteers and we appreciate all your hard work! Motion to adjourn made by D. Whitman and meeting adjourned. 50/50 was won by Rich Zigmont and he donated the $12 back to the club.
