3 May 1st, car show minutes for OCAC Chairman Bailey opened the meeting at 7:00 with 18 members present. Phil reported the posters were printed by Atlas and they did the printing as a sponsor donation. 100 small & 100 large. Aker Signs is doing the banner as a sponsor donation. T-shirts are almost finished w/ sponsor names on the sleeves & last years top winner on the back w/ OCAC logo on the front. Pedens are doing these. Phil will check into the dash plaques. The 50 awards have been picked up and the sponsor plates are being engraved now. John Chaney made & donated 2 metal awards for rat rod & unfinished classes. A gift certificate for $50 will be given to him as a thank you. Kid s choice will be given an award plus $50. Farley s will provide the award for the tuner class. People s Choice and Best of Show ballots will be handed out during the Sunday show. Please take a bunch & hand them out so we don t miss anyone. Jim is doing the publicity. KCWY has the TV spots & radio ready to run, the state wide. The Town Crier is also ready. He has given them all release dates as of this week. Shifters is on board for 6-8:00PM Fri. nite. Discounts there? Not sure. In talking to John Huff at the Yellowstone Garage, he s not sure about the burnout & is still working out location & permission. Jim will be the announcer for this if it happens. We need to be sure that it is known that our club has nothing to do with the burnout as our insurance will not cover that type of an event. Jim suggested we ask PJ Hack to come on Sunday morning to make coffee. John Johnson will offer 10% discount upon showing of lanyards at any of his restaurants. Jesse reported the Cruise for Cash route will be in the newspaper so people will know the route & can see the cars as they arrive in the various parking lots. There will be 5 stops: $50 for 4 draws at 4 stops with the last stop of $100 for 2 draws, a total of $1200. The winner s names will be held out from the 4 stops & reentered for # 5 stop so everyone has a chance for the $200 drawing. He has enough parkers & help. Direction sheets will be handed out at stop #1. Secy note: I didn t get a list of the stops. The Schwan s ice cream truck is ready to roll. They will have individual items available and we will pay for just what is used. This will be available at Sunday at 2:00 before the awards. Ray reported the raffles will be done at 2:30 with awards at 3:00. He has accumulated lot of auto related items, the jukebox; Judy showed us the quilt she has made, so we have plenty of stuff to raffle. People to sell ticket are needed. See Ray The Humane Society is doing a 50/50. Judy reported we have 54 cars registered. A person with a 2012 Rouse Mustang who sponsors Kids with Cancer wants to come to our show & Greiners. We will comp. her entry fee to our show. Judy has been stuffing the bags as they come in & since we really don t have much to put in them we will not schedule a stuffing event as we have in the past. The Elks lanyards they were giving us have been backordered so we may have to buy our own. Napa has also run out. This item is in the budget. Jerry has 13 vendors in place, 7 food, 4 craft, 2 comps (Elks for D.A.R.E. & the Humane Society) some will need 220 but that is being taken care of. He will be at the Fair Grounds at 6:30 to assist in getting them set up. Yellowstone Garage update: There will be an 80 s music band starting at 7:00 Sat. nite. Fire trucks with their lights running will be parked on Yellowstone. Lunch will be available at Sherrie s NOT the garage. The street will be closed off as usual. Jerry Russell suggested we use club stationery to send a thank you to all the sponsors. In the past we have given a commemorative plaque plus a thank you note. Phil talked about a framed picture along with a letter thanking & telling what we did with the proceeds. This will be decided after the show. Jerry also told us Fairgrounds road might be closed so registration should be prepared to have a printed alternate route to give out. The parking is under control. The general comment & agreement by the whole group was that this car show team has been extremely co-operative, positive, hard working & their willing to see this show a success is super! May 19th is the last meeting before the show. Come to Stan s at 12:00 so he can cook for us but bring something to share, a chair & table service. 3
