1 Hey! Welcome to VIVA LA NIKA! I m so excited that you ve chosen to dance with me this summer. We ve gathered some of the best Jazz Funk and Hip-Hop teachers of our time for Viva La Nika, and I can t wait for you to learn from them. Enclosed, please find a tentative schedule and details of the week s events. The entire faculty and I will be dedicated to high-energy and motivational classes, helping to break down the ins and outs of working in this business. I strongly believe that nurturing your mind and soul on a daily basis improves your dance career and who you are as a dancer. In this week you ll learn how to truly love yourself, be yourself, and enjoy yourself in the present moment. Included in this experience, you ll be able to attend DancerPalooza s huge expo hall (Beat Street) and additional master classes (Crash Courses) in many styles of dance. Admission to Beat Street is Free and admission to Crash Course classes are already included with your Viva La Nika registration. Thank you for making the trip to San Diego. See you soon! 2 CHECKCHECK-IN AND OPENING NIGHT PARTY You can check-in any time on Monday, July 23rd from 5pm-10pm at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel which is located right next to the San Diego Convention Center. At check-in, you will receive your badge, updated schedule and a DancerPalooza swag bag. On Monday night from 8pm-10pm at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel, we will be holding an Opening Night Party! This is a great opportunity for you to meet all of the Viva La Nika dancers and other DancerPalooza Intensive attendees from around the world. Due to space limitations, chaperones are only allowed for dancers under the age of 13. If you are unable to check-in Monday night, you can do so the next morning at the San Diego Convention Center. The Info Desk will be open 30 minutes prior to the first event. EVENT LOCATION The Viva La Nika room and Info Desk will be located at Ballroom 25 (on level three of the San Diego Convention Center). The Info desk will be the place to go for check-in (if you are unable to do so on Monday), Observer Pass purchases, schedule or event changes, etc. PLEASE NOTE: We will only be accepting cash on-site. CASTING AUDITION Nika will be holding a casting audition to place dancers for Viva La Nika LIVE. After the audition, the casting will be posted as well as the rehearsal schedule for the rest of the week.

3 OBSERVER PASSES Observer Passes can be purchased at the Info Desk for $75. Please remember we will only be accepting cash on-site. Observer Pass holders will be allowed into all Viva La Nika and Crash Course classes. Observers will NOT be allowed into the casting audition or any rehearsals. PALOOZA STORE We will be selling Intensive specific apparel as well as Break the Floor merchandise at the DancerPalooza store located by the DancerPalooza General Info Desk. AGENCY AUDITION On Saturday, July 28th dancers will have the opportunity to experience an agency audition with representatives from Bloc Talent! If participating, please bring your headshot and resume (if you have them, no worries if you don t!) as well as your audition number. If you plan on participating, please make sure you sign up by 2pm on Friday, July 27th at the Viva La Nika desk. VIVA LA NIKA LIVE! Saturday, July 28th 9:30pm DancerPalooza After Party at the Hall of Fame Stage at Beat Street San Diego Convention Center Admission to the After Party is FREE!! So come and support the Viva La Nika dancers!

4 WHAT TO BRING FOR VIVA LA NIKA LIVE! We have an exciting show planned for the finale of Viva La Nika! We need you to help by bringing some items from your wardrobe. Please bring: - Black Options (Tops and Bottoms) - White Options (Tops and Bottoms) - Please bring your coolest jazz funk & hip-hop outfit featuring bright colors, cool patterns, accessories, etc. SAN DIEGO CONVENTION CENTER INFO 111 West Harbor Drive San Diego, CA (619) Parking: $20/day (no in/out privileges). Open from 6am-12am daily. Parking is located under the San Diego Convention Center. The west end of the garage is open 24/7 for access and exit (Marriott Hotel side).
