1 TERM In this issue. Chocolate Drive Page 3 Term 4 enrolments Page 3 Maroochy Carnival Page 6 A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT. It is difficult to look back at our past year, however it is exciting to see just how far we have come. We are most fortunate to be training in this new facility, and it is clear that MBG has a great future. Yet we have not stopped. We have had Scotland visit, competitions, carnivals, education sessions and staff meetings, as well as a packed training schedule, so we have already made good use out of this fantastic facility. It is also worth noting that as of this month our membership numbers have risen back to where we were prior to the fire enrolments and climbing. This is very exciting and I thank the staff for the service we are offering and all the hard work for this achievement. Also, I am very excited about our Move for Life Program catering to our seniors in getting active. This program is proving a popular activity and drawing a crowd as a great social outing. Check out some photos within the newsletter - how active is your Nan or Pop? On the facility build, we still have finishing touches occurring and more funding required to progress planned works. Some of these completed projects are; Cafe Roller Door - installed to finish lockup of the cafe, and windows for staff rooms. Planned projects are Mirrors, Ballet Bar and Strength wall-bars (waiting funding from a September Bunnings BBQ), Electronic notice board, carpets & toilets upstairs, and the big one - The Training Pit build is targeted for Term 4 which will provide more training space for all gymnasts. Also, as the financial year has passed we are heading toward AGM, so please keep an eye out for a date (to be confirmed), and the available positions vacant on the management committee. We are looking for some new members as a number of current members move on. We have been very fortunate to have such a talented committee and I am looking forward to seeing some new faces willing to bring their expertise to the table. If signing up for the management committee is not your thing, keep an eye out for events where you can sign up to a timeslot using the SignUpGenius app that we are now using. We are always looking for members to put in an hour here or there. On the Cafe front, support for The Balanced Bean is growing. Please drop in for a coffee or snack. Spread the word and invite some friends down. As the cafe is totally MBG owned and run, all profits go back into the facility and operations of the club. Check out The Balanced Bean on instagram Move for Life Page 7 The 2018 Club Handbook is available from the Club website: Parent Information Overall Maroochy Beach is doing extremely well, as a service to the community and also as a competitive club at recent competitions - checkout some results below. It is very exciting to see the success we are currently having, as well as the participation with are seeing in many of these competition. Truly a club to be proud of. For the most up to date information, please keep an eye on both: Facebook and Instagram. Peter Dwan Maroochy Beach Gymnastics Club President

We have a great term ahead with themes like our big, fun thinking theme Left and Right with Balance and finishing with our last theme Teddy Bears Picnic. At Teddy Bears Picnic I will be giving out packets of Tiny Teddy biscuits. Over 320 packets of Tiny Teddy biscuits were kindly donated by IGA Marketplace Wises Road so please support this local business whenever you can. Term 3 will be exciting and full of fun, jumping, climbing, stretching, rolling, swinging and balancing. I have included a few photos of our Circus Theme, celebrated in the final week of Term 2. Please ensure you register and pay for your child s entry prior to the closing date Saturday 25 th August.
