Matt did so much in so many ways for his Lodge, District and Moose Legion. A very well attended memorial was held for him on July 31st and was a true testament as to how fondly we thought of him. Many members from all over our district were present and we thank all who attended to show support to his love and our Chapter Junior Regent, Vivian Johnson. We will miss you Matt! We ve received requests from some members to keep our sign out front more currently updated on Lodge events and entertainment schedules. Social dancing is similar to ball room dancing only it will coincide with the type of music that is played in our social quarters (lounge).

5 Pool Committee By Danny Keel, Chairman Hello everyone! We, the pool committee, have come up with a new idea that I think will become very popular. We re going to start dance lessons every Tuesday night in the ball room. Social dancing is similar to ball room dancing only it will coincide with the type of music that is played in our social quarters (lounge). The lessons will start September 6 th at 7:30 with Jan as our instructor and his wife assisting. It will last an hour and the cost is $10.00 per lesson. A different dance will be taught every six weeks which means each class will take 6 weeks from beginning to the end. You pay for the whole session up front for $ Couples are encouraged to be open to dancing with other people every week because it helps you learn more and prevents you from making the same mistakes over and over with the same person. I think this will be a lot of fun. It will also give you a chance to meet new people. Danny Entertainment Committee By Danny Keel, Chairman On a sad note. As of this writing we have just learned that K.W. from the Swamp Juice band suddenly passed away on August 1 st. He was the base player with the wooly hair on the right side of the stage. Anybody who knew him knew he was a great guy. He had a great personality and was very friendly to talk to. He was very talented and will be sorely missed by his band. 6 Governor s Message By E T Ryan Again, I wish to thank all of you for your help and assistance because without you CHANGE and progress would be very difficult. Last time we focused on teamwork, and this time, the focus is on CHANGE. Things are slowly beginning to improve and it is with your interest and participation. Call Janet at Senior Regent s Message by Maria Ferrer Dear Ladies, Once again our dear and devoted group of volunteer co-workers have set the tone for the year by helping us run a successful 4 th of July Bake Sale, Country Hoe Down and Pixie Hollow themed dances. We appreciated your unfailing attention to detail, coordinating and preparing us to welcome the participants of the WOTM training session. Several participants commented on how well we had organized these activities and events. We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who donate their time on occasions like these and we sincerely express our heartfelt thanks to Alice Gore, Bonnye Angles, Stella Garrett, Susan Brizard, Vivian Johnson, Jossie Sola, Dianne Jenigen, Darlene Aleshire, Nancy Travers, Joan Stokes, Judy Cosentino, and our waitresses, Julie and Kathy! These events have brought us all closer together. Those of us who have been with the WOTM for some time have found our events and activities a nice and fun time to get acquainted with new and old friends. Our efforts to bring new members into our Chapter, to keep the ones we have, as well as your generosity and volunteerism, provide necessary resources to continue with our commitment to support Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Be sure to check the bulletin for some upcoming and exciting activities and events. The WOTM Labor Day BBQ and Bake Sale on September 5th, our Hawaiian Fantasy dance on September 17th and our Halloween dance on October 29th. Mark your calendar for our annual YARD SALE on October 8 th.. We will have everything imaginable for sale in the Lodge front parking lot and back ballroom. We meet on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:30 pm. This year, due to the Labor Day Holiday, our Chapter s meeting will be held on Monday, September 12 th, at 7:30 pm. This meeting is dedicated to all of our Star Recorders and we would very much like to have you join us so that you may receive updates of current programs and future activities.
