3 Vice President s Report By John Fischer Hi Gang, Well, it has been an interesting year. I feel that under Jeff s leadership we have certainly accomplished a lot. We paid off the field, held a terrific air show to say thanks to our members, held numerous fun fly s and hosted many other events. Yes, it has been a full year. As I hang up my spurs as Vice President, I look forward to next year I am sure that the new officers will do a terrific job. I will also take this opportunity to ask that each of you help out in some way in It is our club and the only way we can strive to make it better is to have everyone contribute some time, effort, and energy. 4 Secretary s Report By Julian Pugh Minutes of the November 8, 2007 Meeting President Jeff Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M at Township Hall. Julian requested and received approval for the October minutes as published in the FLYPAPER. Julian handed out the Points summary sheets to all club members and requested they contact him for any corrections necessary. Any corrected sheets will be available at the Annual Christmas party. Alan Galle announced the next and last Fun Fly will be a Fast-Slow Event at the field November 10, Alan awarded ribbons to the following winners of the Limbo Fun Fly. Beginner Todd Barret 1 ST Place Expert Merlin Graves 1 st Place Cliff Fullhart 2 nd Place Steve Gawlik 3 rd Place Jim Toth, 2008 Swap Shop Chairman announced the event will be held at the gymnastics center at the corner of Peck Road and Dean Street, St. Charles. The center will be fully heated and have a large number of parking spaces. Dan Knippen requested the club make the field available August 9 and August 10, 2008 for the IMAC event. This will be considered at the board meeting in December. Jeff Andersen stated the nominations as shown in the Flypaper need to be closed. As there were no further nominations, it was moved and seconded to close the nominations for 2008 as published in the Flypaper and a vote will be taken at the Christmas Party. Dominic requested all members bring a toy for our Toys for Tots drive to the Christmas Party. New members present were: Jeff and Dillon Kapp St. Charles, IL Welcome to FVAC Jeff and Dillon. 7 Right: Member Dennis McFarlane turned 55 last month and his wife Cindy baked him a special self portrait cake for the celebration. We really embarrassed him at last months meeting as we sang him happy birthday wishes. Dennis will be our VP next year and Cindy is on the Board of Directors and spends most of her time running a hobby shop called Al s. Below: In case you are looking for that minute Christmas gift idea, be sure and show your significant other this Dietrich Extra 260 for 100cc engines. On second thought, just mention that there is a web site full of Christmas suggestions at Kevin Dietrich started out building for guys like Quique Somenzini, Chip Hype and Bill Hemple. 7

8 Field Maintenance Report By Greg Bohler, Chairman I went out to the field on Saturday and watched Cliff ( the die hard) Fullhart get a couple flights in. He was joined by Steve Baker, who also got a flight in. With the stiff wind and cold temperatures I elected to let them have the field. When they were done flying, Dan Compton showed up and the four of us made short work of putting a few things away for the season. Steve pulled the battery out of the roller and we brought the grills and garbage cans in under the canopy. We also put all the blast shields up in the barn for the winter. The only thing at the field that we are considering doing before full blown winter, is to take down the flags that are on poles supported by the fences. That will probably happen in the next week or so. The Porta pottie is gone and the dumpster has been called in and will be gone shortly. In my mind we are ready to start building season and leave the field to those hearty soles that earn their all season flyer patches. Thanks for a good season and I hope to see everyone at the Christmas party

10 Fun Fly Report by Allan Galle, Chairman The November fun fly event was Fast and Slow with a total of 14 pilots signed up to compete. The rules of the event are to: 1. This a timed event. 2. Fly slow into the wind (high time) 3. Reverse direction and fly fast with the wind (low time) 4. Subtract the low time from high time high time wins 5. Fly 2 rounds. The way to win this event is to be able to fly very slow and zig zag your way from start to finish, the fast times didn t matter much because they were all about a ½ second apart. Fastest time of the day was 1.56 sec by Tony Sokol. Slowest time was 7.91 by Dominic Saverino.
