Staff at Modbury School P 7 have made a commitment to seeking new ways to strengthen rela onships between our school and the community. Although we already have exis ng structures that connect us, we are looking at new ways to form posi ve partnerships with our parents/caregivers and extended family members. So you may ask. what s already in place? Parent/Caregiver rela onships with educators regular check ins through yard catch up, drop off or pick up me and phone calls or s Whole school reading me sharing reading me in classrooms SAPSASA support with transport as well as offering a er school training 1:1 support for students through a volunteer program Canteen support Harmony Day ac vi es Library support Modbury School Community group working together to fundraise and support whole school events Modbury School Governing Council EALD Parent Community Group Inbarendi (ATSI) Parent Community Group Modbury School playgroup We would like to extend an invita on for more families to be connected to our school. It is important to recognise that when educators and families work closely together, greater outcomes can be achieved for your children. As you can see from the photos, it was a great opportunity for families to connect with each other and share their experiences about Modbury. We would also like to thank our Serbian, Chinese and Russian BSSO (Bi lingual School Services Officer) for interpre ng during the mee ng. We look forward to our next mee ng on Tuesday 27 March 2018.

The girls had a wonderful me and learnt a lot of new skills, thank you Chelsea.

3 GIRLS FOOTBALL CLINIC On Wednesday 21 February, girls from years 4 7 par cipated in a Football Clinic run by the Adelaide Crows. Co Captain of the Crows Women s Team Chelsea Randall came to the school to run a coaching clinic looking at tackling, handballing and kicking. The girls had a wonderful me and learnt a lot of new skills, thank you Chelsea. I really enjoyed doing girls football clinic because I got to try something new. My favourite part was tackling and handballing. It was so much fun and all the coaches were extremely nice. Aleena I really enjoyed having a go at girls footy because we had a go at tackling and the coaches were extremely nice. Tasha

I like tackling and how I fell on the grass. We had to tackle a big bag.

Sierra I really enjoyed girls football because I got to tackle and when I kicked the footy I scored a goal.

Amelia I liked football because I would not usually do it and I got to do new things that I would not do.

Veronica It was lots of fun, I really enjoyed the tackling it was something new.

Nikki I enjoyed the tackle bag because I got throw it to the ground and it was fun.

4 I like tackling and how I fell on the grass. We had to tackle a big bag. I enjoyed kicking also because I hit the goal to get points. Sierra I really enjoyed girls football because I got to tackle and when I kicked the footy I scored a goal. Brooklyn My favourite thing was the tackling because it was a good way to get out anger. Amelia I liked football because I would not usually do it and I got to do new things that I would not do. Also I liked how Maddie, Chelsea and Red Legs came to teach us. Veronica It was lots of fun, I really enjoyed the tackling it was something new. They were funny and welcoming and it was cool to work with the Crows team and Chelsea. Nikki I enjoyed the tackle bag because I got throw it to the ground and it was fun. Claire My favourite thing we did was the goal kicking because I got a few goals and we had to hit the goal post and I hit it! Kira I enjoyed tackling the tackle bag, and mee ng the lovely Maddie, Chelsea and Red Legs, those memories will always stay with me, I had a great me. Thank you for the opportunity to meet great people and improve my football skills. Ellouise

5 Mathema cs in Community C Perimeter Room 6 have been learning about the concept of Perimeter. They have been working in groups to solve problems and share their learning.
