1 Monthly Newsletter October 2017 From the Manager s Desk: Dear Residents, There are just a few items that I would like to remind you of all this issue. First, it has recently come to my attention that we have a few more rentals in the community than have been reported. Please note that the governing documents for our community require all owners to notify management if your home is being leased. We also will need a copy of the lease agreement for our records, along with contact information for you should any issues arise with your home. No home may be leased for a period of less than one year. Secondly, please be reminded that the use of metal detectors outside of your own property are prohibited, and any artifacts found on the Ponds land (your lot included) are the Property of the State of South Carolina as the Ponds is a historical landmark. All artifacts found on site must be turned into the State of South Carolina and may then be displayed at the Ponds. Lastly, the pools in both Cresswind and The Ponds will remain open through October 31 st so that you may enjoy this beautiful warm weather for a few more weeks. Sincerely, Krista Dorris, CMCA, AMS Community Manager Committee & Club Meetings: Applied Mindful Meditation Monday, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 7:00pm-9:00pm Men s POKER Friday, October 27 7:00pm-11:00pm Wellness Wednesday Wednesday, October 18 6:30pm-8:30pm Book Club The Cottage Thursday, October 19 6:30pm-9:00pm Bunco Thursday, October 12 6:30pm to 9:00pm The Ponds RAC Meeting October 17 6:30pm to 8:00pm

4 Our Clubs: Fishing Club: As winter approaches, fishing techniques must be adjusted. Trolling works but your choice of lures and colors will need to change. I suggest frequent changing of lures to find what works. 3/8 oz inline spinners are my preference. Plastic worms ALWAYS work. It's a time proven method for bass. For catfish, chicken livers will guarantee success. Use the same method for winter fishing as you do in summer. - Greg Johnson For questions and additional information, please contact Jamie Hepburn FISH COUNT FOR SEPTEMBER: - 12 Crappie - 19 bass - 28 bowfin - 2 gar - 1 pickerel - 20 bream - 3 Warmouth TOTAL: 85 Associa Carolinas HOA Management Team Contact Information The Ponds Krista Dorris Community Manager Krista.Dorris@Associa.us Phone: (843) Jamie Hepburn Lifestyle/The Ponds Jamie.hepburn@Associa.us Phone: (843) Robin Wharton Lifestyle/Cresswind Robin.Wharton@Associa.us Phone: (843) Dana Wyatt Administrative Assistant daniella.wyatt@associa.us Phone: (843) Men s Poker Book Club The Ponds Outdoors Club Wellness Wednesday (NEW) Bunco Applied Mindful Meditation Cycling Mariusz Waleszczuk Maintenance Technician mariusz.waleszczuk@associa.us Phil Lugo Maintenance Technician Philip.lugo@Associa.us Questions or Concerns? 5 From the Lifestyle Desk: Dear Residents, Happy October everyone! October is one of our favorite months even though I know, weather wise, it is going to be quite different this year. We are settling in and really enjoying life in SC. Like many of you, we are still trying to find good spots for dinner, places to explore and of course ways to meet our neighbors. If you have found some great spots and would like to share, I would love to hear from you. Each month in my newsletter, we would love to include a page to help news residents and people new to the area get started! We have some exciting events happening this month! This month kicks off with the Touch a Truck Pet Expo hosted by Sinbad Sadie. There will be opportunities for children to touch a variety of vehicles: police cars, tanks, bulldozers, etc. There will be a pet pageant show for your pets to participate in. The price is $5 (to be paid the day of the event) and is of course pet friendly! Looking Forward & Planning Ahead: Holiday Extravaganza The Pavilion & Farmhouse November 5, pm to 4pm The Annual Holiday Shopping Extravaganza at The Ponds will be held on November 5th from noon until 4:00 pm at the Farmhouse complex. We have over 30 vendors committed to the event so far! Birds of Prey on October 8 th is not to be missed!
